Hunter X Hunter, Reborn as a Kuruta Tribesmen

Chapter 53: Chapter 53

---

The attacker immediately recited a spell, pulling a spell card from his card collection book, ready to use it on Rocky and Piro.

But suddenly, a weak wave of Nen energy emerged.

The man's eyes widened in shock as he looked forward in horror.

Rocky stood in front of him, holding a long sword pointed directly at his throat.

"If your throat moves again, I'll pierce it immediately!" Rocky declared coldly.

The man stared at the boy in disbelief. *Isn't he just a rookie? How could such a kid possess this terrifying speed?*

"Now, do exactly as I say," Rocky ordered.

The attacker blinked nervously, not even daring to nod for fear of touching the blade and having his throat pierced.

"Piro, check his card collection book and transfer all the cards into yours," Rocky instructed.

Piro nodded but then hesitated. "What book of mine?"

Rocky sighed. "Raise your hand with the ring and recite the activation phrase."

Piro did as instructed, and a book appeared from a cloud of white smoke.

Still in awe, Piro heard Rocky urging him to hurry. He quickly stepped forward, took the attacker's book, and started flipping through it, ten pages at a time.

"Put the cards with numbers into the designated pockets, and the cards without numbers into any pockets!" Rocky reminded him.

Though Piro understood the process, Rocky reiterated the instructions to ensure no mistakes.

Soon, they had collected 21 cards for designated pockets and seven cards for any pockets.

"It seems you're not very skilled," Rocky remarked with a look of disdain. "For an experienced player, you sure don't have much."

The attacker, now understanding Rocky's level of knowledge, frowned. "Do you know the rules of *Greed Island*?"

Rocky didn't respond, his silence unnerving the man.

The attacker muttered, "How could a newcomer like you possibly know… Did some veteran player tip you off? Damn… I'm in trouble now. You've got the cards, so let me go!"

Rocky withdrew his sword and casually slung it over his shoulder.

The attacker stepped back cautiously, his vigilance evident. Once at a safe distance, he bolted, running away as fast as he could.

"What are these cards for, Rocky?" Piro asked curiously.

"You'll find out soon enough," Rocky replied, his gaze fixed on a distant direction. "First, let's head to the nearest town to gather food and supplies."

Developing a Nen beast and preparing for Razor loomed heavily on Rocky's mind.

However, Rocky knew that creating the kind of Nen beast he envisioned was likely impossible at his current level. To even attempt it, he would need to impose restrictions and make vows, which could delay his progress by at least a month. Yet Rocky needed results much sooner.

The time required for the next modification was still unknown, but Rocky was determined to be ready.

Upon reaching the nearest town, Rocky used the money left behind in the defeated player's cards to buy essential supplies.

Afterward, he led Piro into the wilderness to begin their training.

More than ten days remained until the next modification. During this time, Piro would undergo special training, while Rocky himself would refine his skills further.

Nen required constant practice. Without years of consistent training, even experienced users could become rusty, much like Ryu and Zetsu users in the original storyline.

The first step in Piro's training was to increase his Nen capacity through physically demanding activities—digging tunnels, smashing rocks, and maintaining heightened awareness. He would also train to dodge falling stones while sleeping.

Meanwhile, Rocky practiced alongside Piro. Despite having already mastered many Nen techniques, Rocky recognized the importance of foundational training.

The days passed quickly, and more than ten had gone by before Rocky knew it.

When the time came for the modification, Rocky eagerly awaited the results.

No new information column appeared, but the talent description had become more detailed.

This allowed Rocky to make finer adjustments to his abilities.

Even among the top talents, there were differences. Gon, Killua, and others might also have the highest level of Nen talent among humans, but if Rocky added specific traits—like unparalleled comprehension—his potential would surpass theirs.

For now, Rocky decided to stick to his original plan and add Emitter to his Nen category.

**[Nen System: Conjurer, Emitter]**

**[Confirm Modification]**

**[Estimated Time for Next Modification: 6 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds]**

*Seven days isn't bad!* Rocky thought.

With the modification complete, Rocky didn't feel any immediate changes to his energy or body. However, when he released a nen bullet, he noticed the difference.

The bullet retained its original power but now flew an astonishing 50 to 60 meters effortlessly, showcasing the Emitter's influence.

Rocky began developing ideas for new abilities.

Nen beasts were a natural choice, but he felt that most Nen beasts in the Hunter world were lackluster. He wanted something unique—abilities that would form a cohesive system.

Noctis can summon six gods to help him fight.

Rocky envisioned the "Six Gods," corresponding to the six Nen categories.

His first focus would be the Ice God, corresponding to his Conjurer category. If he could successfully integrate it with Emitter Category, the result could be extraordinary.

However, developing the Six Gods would undoubtedly come at a high cost.

Rocky decided to start experimenting with the Ice God during the seven days before the next modification.

"What are you doing, Rocky?" Piro asked.

"Making ice," Rocky replied, placing a large quantity of saltpeter into a jar.
