HunterxHunter: I Became Stronger After Death

Chapter 11: Destination

The mountain road was winding and treacherous.

Moro had been walking for about an hour without encountering a single person.

Looking up at the sky, he estimated that there were still two or three hours until sunset.

In terms of time, he was barely managing. But it was best to leave this desolate area before nightfall.

In this world, undeveloped wilderness areas were often teeming with life-threatening dangers.

Most of these dangers came from bizarre creatures capable of easily killing humans.

Without professional knowledge as a guide, even a nen user could lose their life in the deep forests and mountains.

Since Moro's arrival in this world, he had mostly immersed himself in human society, which was brimming with opportunities. Rarely had he ventured into the wild.

Even in human-developed nature reserves, he had never once set foot.

Still, he maintained a healthy respect for the wilderness.

After a brief rest, Moro continued down the mountain road, thinking about his next steps.

The first priority was resolving his identity issue.

Ever since the moment he was locked in the transport truck cage, a death certificate had been forcibly issued for him.

As a result, all information about him in the identity database had been erased along with that death certificate.

Previously, Morena had taken care of the issue of his new identity. Now, he had to figure it out himself.

Fortunately, it shouldn't be too difficult.

After spending half a year in Yorknew City, Moro knew that many problems could be solved with money.

"600,000 Jenny… I wonder if that's enough."

The money he had taken from the two corpses wasn't much, but it was critical for him right now.

Even if it wasn't enough to buy an identity card, Moro could use it as seed money to generate more income.

Lightly patting the bulging pocket containing the money, Moro looked into the distance, where faint plumes of smoke could be seen rising.

Resolving his identity issue was the highest priority. After all, using high-speed transportation like airships required valid identification.

For Moro, time was as valuable as life itself.

He needed to ensure that not a single moment was wasted.

Once his identity was sorted, there were two potential destinations:

The first was the Heavens Arena, where he could earn prize money and address his lack of combat experience.

In the process of challenging the floor master positions, he was likely to encounter malicious competitors.

Most of these competitors were nen users looking to rack up wins against newcomers.

For the sake of status and wealth, these individuals were often utterly ruthless, employing all kinds of underhanded methods.

If Moro encountered them, he wouldn't hesitate to take them down.

After all, defeating a nen user meant leveling up—something vital to him.

The second destination was Yorknew City.

Moro was very familiar with the city. With a bit of seed money, he could quickly generate profits and solve his financial problems.

More importantly, he could purchase antiques or handcrafted artifacts infused with nen to see if the energy of the Ring of Years could still be accumulated.

However, even if the ring could continue collecting energy, the slow process wouldn't take priority. Moro's main focus would remain on leveling up and getting stronger.

Two options.

No matter which path he chose, his ultimate goal was the same:

To kill Feitan within a year.

Moro hesitated, unable to decide immediately, but then considered another critical issue.

Information channels—

The prerequisite for killing Feitan was finding him first.

According to the original storyline, when the Phantom Troupe was first established, they committed heinous acts to gain notoriety.

Many shocking crimes were attributed to them.

This ruthless behavior quickly made them an infamous A-Class criminal organization, giving them considerable influence.

Soon, the fact that the Phantom Troupe originated from Meteor City became widely known.

The fear and dread people felt for the Troupe gradually extended to Meteor City itself.

This was one of Chrollo's motivations for creating the Troupe:

To instill fear of the Phantom Troupe and, by extension, create a protective shroud over Meteor City.

But beyond that, the Phantom Troupe had another mission:

To avenge their childhood friend, Sarasa.

Under Chrollo's leadership, the Troupe waded through a sea of blood and corpses, eventually killing Sarasa's murderer six years ago.

After that, the Troupe's frenzied behavior began to subside.

They no longer committed crimes or killings as frequently, and the team's group actions visibly decreased.

Eventually, the Phantom Troupe went three years without gathering.

Its disbanded members scattered like stones dropped into the ocean, leaving no trace.

Because of this, Moro couldn't ignore the importance of reliable information channels.

Otherwise, even if he developed the strength to kill Feitan, it would be useless if he couldn't locate him.

Moro's thoughts wandered back to that deadly, stormy night.

Why had the Phantom Troupe come after him?

He didn't know.

Now that he was on a different path, he couldn't be sure if Chrollo and the others would still go to Yorknew in a year.

He decided to keep that piece of information as a fallback option.

If possible, Moro preferred a one-on-one fight with Feitan.

That made intelligence all the more crucial.

Only through reliable information could he locate Feitan when he was acting alone.

And in the Hunter world, information was extremely expensive.

"Yorknew it is."

Recognizing the importance of information channels, Moro decided to head to Yorknew first.

He planned to hunt for undervalued treasures to amass wealth as quickly as possible.

After establishing himself in Yorknew, Moro had often heard stories about people finding incredible deals or tricking collectors out of top-tier artifacts.

With his knowledge of future events, Moro could intercept priceless treasures before anyone else.

This would allow him to quickly accumulate funds for intelligence gathering and verify the current functionality of the Ring of Years.

Two Weeks Later

Yorknew City – Rat Alley, Sewer District

The slightly damp alley wasn't littered with much trash, but the air was filled with an unpleasant stench.

It was late at night, and the faint glow of yellow lights barely illuminated the alley's depths.

Moro stood at a T-intersection, holding a briefcase.

Click, click…

Footsteps echoed from the shadows.

A man wearing a mask and dressed inconspicuously emerged from the dim light, constantly glancing around as if paranoid.

When his eyes landed on Moro, the masked man's wary gaze flickered to the briefcase before he cautiously approached.

Stopping in front of Moro, the man pulled a long, cloth-wrapped object from behind his back and held it out to Moro.

"You can inspect the goods, but the money comes first," the man rasped. After a pause, he added, "I'll only wait one minute."

"Alright."

Moro tossed the briefcase at the man's feet, then took the object, unwrapping the black cloth to reveal a katana with a red-and-white blade surrounded by a faint, smoky nen aura.

Satisfied with the aura emanating from the katana, Moro nodded.

He had arrived in Yorknew a week ago, only to find resolving the identity issue more troublesome than expected.

For now, he set aside the identity problem and began hunting for bargains in the market.

In less than a week, he had made over 20 million Jenny.

Instead of using the money to fix his identity problem, Moro immediately sought out the masked man to purchase this high-value, illicit katana.

If he could sell it for a profit…

He would net over a billion Jenny in one transaction.
