"Big spender, your situation is looking pretty bad right now."

"Noticed," Moro replied, glancing at the corpse beneath him.

From Yorknew to the outskirts, the journey was barely an hour long.

For Argo to gather key information within such a short timeframe was a testament to her capabilities.

With that in mind, Moro shifted his gaze briefly to the distant road.

Following that road would lead to an open wilderness, where the private shooting range he had purchased was located.

But given tonight's events, the range was likely no longer secure. There was no point in going there anymore.

As for his daily training routine, he would need to figure out another solution.

Argo was still trying to process Moro's cryptic response. "You got attacked?"

"Yeah. Almost gave you a free twenty billion."

"That would've been such a sha—" Argo coughed, catching herself. "Well, not quite. If you died too easily, it'd make this money feel cursed. I'd also risk getting dragged into trouble."

She seriously contested Moro's quip. "I just took on such a big job. If my client bites the dust right away, how am I supposed to keep my business alive?"

"Enough small talk. What did you find?"

Moro was eager to hear how much progress she had made.

Hearing that, Argo snapped into work mode.

"The people tracking you are the Gambino family and someone named Clyde. You've heard of the Ten Dons, right?"

"I have."

Moro's gaze sharpened slightly.

"Gambino is the last name of one of the Ten Dons."

Moro was surprised but quickly composed himself.

The Ten Dons were the supreme leaders of the world's organized crime syndicates. Each controlled the criminal underworld of one of the six continents, and they jointly hosted the annual grand auction in Yorknew.

If the Gambino family was involved, it explained a lot: their ability to provide fake death certificates, as well as Morena's business ties with them.

Moro recalled that three years from now, during the events of the Yorknew auction, Chrollo would hire Illumi to assassinate the Ten Dons.

At that time, Illumi even brought out the family's patriarch, Maha Zoldyck, for assistance. And to locate the Dons' meeting place in time, they had to enlist Kalluto's tracking ability.

That alone showed how difficult it was to eliminate the Ten Dons.

Suddenly, a thought struck Moro: Could Kalluto's ability to locate people already be awakened?

If so, finding Feitan wouldn't be a problem.

Then there were Silva and Zeno. Did they take on kidnapping contracts, or only assassinations?

And speaking of finding people…

Moro thought of Palm Siberia.

"The son of a Don?" Moro blinked in surprise.

Argo continued, "Nolan has leveraged his father's influence to create a business venture called 'The Menu.'"

"On the surface, it looks like he's opening hospitals in various regions, but in reality, he's deeply involved in human trafficking."

"The 'menu' refers to breaking down a person into various 'products' with transaction value."

"This allows buyers to select specific items they need—organs, blood, and so on. Some buyers even purchase whole people for… experiments."

"For this type of business, matching supply and demand is critical."

At this point, Argo hesitated briefly, her tone softening.

"Big spender… if you didn't already have beef with Nolan, it's likely his men targeted you because you were 'matched' with a client's request."

"I see."

Moro's expression remained neutral.

Initially, he had probably been added to the menu simply because a client wanted something from him.

But tonight's attack wasn't about a simple transaction—it was because they'd discovered he had killed the drivers of the transport truck.

Argo wouldn't have known about that incident, so she assumed it was a matter of him being a "perfect match" for a buyer's needs.

Yet there was another layer to consider—

Since Gale had intervened to rescue the other captives, Nolan wouldn't risk retaliating against a member of the Zodiacs over a transport truck.

Unless… the cargo in that truck was valuable enough to justify taking such a risk.

If that were true, then Nolan might have verified Gale's involvement, determined she wasn't personally invested, and redirected his efforts to track down the escaped captives.

Moro thought it over. If Nolan's men captured any of the other captives, they would inevitably learn about the two drivers he had killed.

"Argo."

"Yes?"

"I need you to investigate something."

Moro wanted confirmation of his theory. He tasked Argo with checking on the fate of the other captives.

Ten minutes later, Argo sent him a video.

Moro opened it.

A gut-wrenching scream immediately filled the air through his phone's speakers, echoing across the plains.

The footage depicted someone being brutally tortured.

Moro only watched for a few seconds before closing the video.

The person being tortured was one of the captives who had been with him in the transport truck.

Moro's face remained impassive, but his gaze shifted to the corpse of Vaughn beneath him.

In that moment, his eyes grew colder than ever.
