✦ Chapter 30 ✦
「Translator – Creator」

As I glanced at the students standing before me, they quickly averted their gaze, avoiding eye contact at all costs.
“Hmm.”
I cleared my throat, trying to gauge their reactions. Some of them even trembled, as if terrified.
“Professor, why are they acting like that?”
Curious, I approached Professor Idra and whispered in her ear.
Professor Idra shot me a knowing look before turning her attention back to the cowering students, most of whom were now staring intently at the floor.
“……………!”
Suddenly, Professor Idra’s eyes lit up as if she had a great idea.
“What? Loki, you can’t do that!”
She said loudly, as if she wanted the other students to hear.
To the others, it must have looked like Professor Idra was startled by my whisper, shouting out in surprise.
But even I didn’t understand what was going on.
“No matter how much these students made fun of you, handling it that way isn’t right, Loki!”
What are you talking about?
Professor Idra didn’t stop talking, even as I stood there, bewildered.
“Even if doing what you suggested would stop them from laughing at you, it might get you dragged to the disciplinary committee, Loki!”
What in the world was she going on about?
I wasn’t sure what was going on, but it was clear that the more she spoke, the more terrified the students became. While this may have been lost on others, I had a front-row seat to Idra’s antics.
She was enjoying this.
“Let’s just leave this to me, shall we? I’ll make sure these students learn their lesson. There’s no need for you to go through with your little plan. Alright?” With that, Professor Idra nudged me with her elbow, urging me to play along.
I didn’t fully understand the situation, but it was clear it was amusing, so I decided to play along.
“Of course, Professor Idra. If you insist, I suppose I can drop it,” I conceded.
Idra chuckled lightly. “Oh my, since when did you become so respectful?” she teased.
“Why wouldn’t I be? You’re beautiful, and an incredibly talented mage.”
At my words, Professor Idra laughed heartily. Her enthusiastic reactions made me want to keep complimenting her.
“Ahaha! Loki, surely you don’t say that to every woman, do you?”
“Oh, come on~. Only to those I genuinely find beautiful.”
“Hehe, it makes me happy to be acknowledged by Loki. Now, we need to start the class, so please return to your seat.”
“Yes, ma’am!”
As I made my way back to my seat, I whispered to the students who were still visibly shaken. “Let’s all be friends, shall we?” My words only made them tremble even more, but I ignored their reaction and settled down next to Clara.
“Clara, is something the matter?” She had such a serious expression on her face.
“……………”
Clara simply stared at me, her gaze fixated on my mouth.
“Ah! Is it because I bit my tongue earlier? I’m all better now, thanks to the purple potion Professor Idra gave me.”
“No, it’s not that.” Clara turned her head away with a huff.
“Well then, shall we resume the lesson?”
And so, the class resumed. To my surprise, none of the other students dared to gossip about me or mock me for the rest of the session.
“That’s all for today. See you all next time,” Professor Idra announced.
Her class had flown by quickly. Despite her playful demeanor, her teaching was very serious.
“”””Thank you!””””
With their thanks, the students hurriedly left the classroom. Thinking it would be annoying to get caught up in the crowd, I decided to stay back for a bit.
It seemed Clara had the same idea, remaining seated next to me.
Once all the students were gone, only Clara and I remained in the classroom.
Just as I was about to suggest that we leave together,
“E-excuse me.”
Someone spoke up. Initially, I thought it was just another person trying to flatter Clara, but the voice was directed at me.
“Is there something you need to say to me?”
It turned out to be one of our classmates, a Shaman from the Special Class, just like Clara and me. Considering his usually timid nature, his boldness in approaching me was surprising, to say the least.
“The…the seniors from the Kingdom of Archen are waiting outside…be careful.”
With that warning, he fled, his face flushed crimson, indicating how much courage it took for him to say those words.
“Thank you for letting me know!”
As I expressed my gratitude, the fleeing student turned back to look at me, offered a quick bow, and then continued his hasty retreat.
“Seniors from the Kingdom of Archen… I wonder why they would be waiting for me.” I muttered to myself.
“Do you really not know?”
Clara sounded exasperated at my rhetorical question.
Truth be told, I had a pretty solid guess.
It was most likely orchestrated by that arrogant jerk.
He probably instructed his fellow students from the Kingdom of Archen to give me a hard time. I figured some of them were genuinely hostile towards me, while others were merely following orders, bound by their allegiance to the kingdom’s hierarchy.
“Well, shall we go see what they want?” I asked nonchalantly.
“Haah…” Clara let out another exasperated sigh at my carefree attitude, but she nonetheless followed me out of the classroom.
“Seems like they’re gathered over there.”
Opening the classroom door, I saw a group of people gathered at the end of the hallway. Upon spotting me, they started walking in our direction.
“They don’t seem to be coming to make friends, do they?”
“Tch.”
As I made a flippant remark, Clara clicked her tongue and stood protectively in front of me.
While her presence might prevent them from openly bothering me, I had a better idea.
“Clara, it’s alright. Leave this to me.”
This way, I could not only deal with them myself, but I could also prevent Clara from being dragged into the conflict. Although I doubted they would stoop so low as to involve her, there was no harm in being cautious. After all, the world was full of unpredictable individuals.
“But what are you going to do? They don’t look like they’re planning on letting us leave without a fuss,” Clara said, her voice laced with concern.
“Don’t worry. There’s still someone they wouldn’t dare mess with here.”
“No way?”
Clara seemed to catch onto my idea. And I re-entered the classroom.
“Loki, is there something you need?” Professor Idra was inside, organizing materials she had used for the lesson.
“Professor Idra,” I began, “there’s something I need to tell you.”
A playful smile spread across Professor Idra’s face.
“Oh my, is this a confession?” she teased. “I’m afraid I’m your professor, and you’re my student, Loki.”
I chuckled along, mirroring her playful tone.
“I tend to be quite romantic when I confess. Unfortunately, this isn’t a confession.”
“That’s too bad. If it’s not a confession, what is it?”
From my [Subspace], I retrieved a spool of the special thread I weave. Professor Idra’s eyes widened slightly at the sight of the [Subspace], a hint of curiosity flickering in them.
“A spatial artifact, Loki? You certainly have some interesting items.”
“But it’s this thread that truly matters. I crafted it myself. What do you think?” I asked, presenting it to her.
“This is the same thread you used during the entrance ceremony, isn’t it?” she asked, her fingers ghosting over the spool. “May I?”
“Of course.”
Professor Idra carefully examined the thread, letting it run through her fingers, gently tugging at its length. After a moment, she spoke, “This thread… It’s made using Kezard, isn’t it?”
In one glance, Professor Idra figured out the method I used to create the string.
“I have plenty of other things too.”
I retrieved more of my creations from the subspace, spilling them onto the desk.
Seeing the numerous magical artifacts I made, Professor Idra looked at me with astonishment.
“Did you make all these yourself, Loki?”
She examined each magical artifact in detail.
In truth, creating them wasn’t difficult. Many of the manufacturing techniques were ones I had memorized while playing Croaka, and my crafting trait, [The Creator’s Touch], made the process even easier.
“At your age, creating all these is impressive. But there’s something even more remarkable than you making them all.”
“That all the magical artifacts have enhanced capabilities?”
I finished the sentence for her. Professor Idra looked at me seriously.
Sensing what she wanted to hear, I said,
“I have a method to enhance any magical artifact.”
“Really!?”
This time, Professor Idra went beyond astonishment and became excited. Naturally, the method to enhance all magical artifacts was something anyone would covet and be curious about.
“Can we discuss this somewhere private?”
“Of course! Let’s go to my lab!”
I followed her out of the classroom.
In the hallway, the students from the Kingdom of Archen who had been waiting for me stared in bewilderment as I walked out with Professor Idra.
“Come on, Loki. Hurry up.”
I followed Professor Idra out of the classroom, leaving behind the collection of artifacts that had captivated her.
Meanwhile, in the hallway, the group of Kingdom of Archen students who had been waiting for me stared in stunned silence as I emerged with Professor Idra.
As I walked past them, I raised one hand high and flipped my middle finger at them.
‘Oh, right. Clara’s here too.’
Remembering Clara, I also raised my index finger, making a V sign.
