Chapter 296: Don't Get Me Wrong, I'm Here To Steal Money
"87.6 million?"
Hearing the astronomical figure, Tsunade froze, her eyes narrowing in disbelief.
"That much?" she asked, almost as if hoping she'd misheard.
Finn, unbothered, spread his hands and pulled out a thick stack of IOUs.
"See for yourself," he said, smirking. "All signed by you."
"Let me take a look!" Tsunade reached for the papers, but Finn stepped back, holding them out of her reach.
"Do you think I'm that naive?" he asked, his grin widening. "If I handed these over, they'd turn to ashes in seconds."
Tsunade's cheeks reddened, though she quickly masked it with a sheepish laugh.
"I don't know what you're talking about," she said, feigning innocence.
Finn shook his head, amused. "You're not as subtle as you think. Anyway, let's cut to the chase: pay up."
Tsunade leaned back, arms crossed. "Pay? With what? My pockets are as empty as this casino's promises."
"You could always sell yourself," Finn teased, his tone sharp but playful.
"Sell myself?" she echoed, raising an eyebrow. "What do you think I'm worth?"
Finn rubbed his chin, pretending to think it over. "A million, maybe? Tops."
Tsunade laughed, loud and genuine. "A million? That's barely enough to cover interest! And who's going to pay for the rest of my debt, hmm?"
"Your village, maybe," Finn replied. "Or a friend. Surely someone out there thinks you're worth saving."
"Nice try," Tsunade said, shaking her head. "I've got no parents, no siblings, and no one dumb enough to pay for my mistakes." She leaned in, smirking. "You're stuck with me, kid."
Finn didn't flinch. Instead, he met her gaze with a calm, unwavering stare. "We'll see about that."
The conversation might have ended there, but Tsunade wasn't one to stick around when things turned serious. She gave Finn a playful pat on the shoulder and made her way toward the casino's exit.
"Hey, where do you think you're going?" Finn called after her, blocking her path. "We're not done here."
"Relax, kid. I'll pay you back after my next win," Tsunade said, brushing past him.
Finn rolled his eyes. "You mean after your next loss?"
Outside, Tsunade's confidence faltered for just a moment. Finn, however, remained inside the casino, his expression unreadable. Activating his Observation Haki, he tracked the flow of money, following it to a hidden back room where the casino's profits were stashed.
A burly man at the entrance sneered as Finn approached.
"Lost, kid?" the man asked, cracking his knuckles.
Finn's response was as bold as it was unexpected:
"Not at all. I'm here to steal your money."
The room fell silent. Then, the man's sneer twisted into a grin.
"Big words for someone walking into a beating."
Finn smirked. "We'll see about that."
