I Choose In The One Piece Class, Do I Have A Choice?

Chapter 304: Why Do You Think We Can Stand Here Safely?

"Collection?"

Finn's voice cut through the tense air, drawing the attention of everyone present. The villagers of Konoha turned to him with a mix of confusion and curiosity.

"What account?" someone in the crowd ventured.

Finn spread his hands nonchalantly and cast a sidelong glance at Tsunade. "She owes me over 87 million. So far, she's managed to scrape together a measly 1 million, leaving more than 86 million unpaid. Now tell me, if she becomes Hokage, will she have the funds to pay me back? If so, I'd strongly support her candidacy!"

The statement hit like a thunderclap. The crowd erupted into murmurs, their gazes now fixed on Tsunade, who looked less like the celebrated granddaughter of Senju Hashirama and more like a gambler caught red-handed.

Tsunade's face darkened. Her mind raced, searching for a way out of this mess. She had never expected Finn to drag her debt into the spotlight—much less in front of the entire village. If she'd known his character better, she might never have borrowed the money.

Suppressing her embarrassment, Tsunade turned to the Konoha Council members, Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu. "If the village can help me repay this debt, I'll agree to be Hokage."

Her words were met with a heavy silence. The weight of her gamble—both literal and figurative—pressed on the gathered crowd. Tsunade hated bringing the village into her personal matters, but she saw no other option. The alternative was unthinkable: a life of servitude under Finn.

Shimura Danzo's raspy chuckle broke the silence. "Tsunade, you are the granddaughter of the First Hokage, and it's only fair for the village to share some of your burdens. But a gambling debt? Really? To suggest the village cover such a frivolous expense is an insult to the legacy of Senju Hashirama." He turned to the crowd, his voice rising. "Does a person so reckless deserve to lead Konoha?"

Danzo's words sowed doubt among the villagers. Murmurs of agreement rippled through the crowd.

"Tsunade's debt is her own responsibility. Why should the village suffer for her mistakes?"

"Eighty-six million? That could rebuild entire sections of the village!"

"If she can't manage her personal finances, how can she handle the responsibility of Hokage?"

The tide of public opinion began to shift. Supporters of Danzo, emboldened, raised their voices.

Tsunade clenched her fists, struggling to maintain her composure. She glanced at Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu, her voice calm but strained. "If the village won't help me repay the debt, just say so. I'll understand. But don't hide behind excuses. I know this is my responsibility, but I can't face it alone."

Mitokado Homura sighed heavily. "Tsunade, it's not a matter of willingness. The village simply doesn't have the funds. Even if we emptied our coffers, we couldn't cover such a massive sum."

Danzo's smirk deepened. The weight of the village's financial woes seemed to bolster his position. The cracks in Tsunade's resolve widened.

Suddenly, Hyuga Hiashi, the leader of the Hyuga clan, stepped forward. His calm voice cut through the tension. "The advisor speaks the truth. Konoha cannot afford this debt—not because we lack the resources, but because we've already spent them."

Tsunade's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"

Hiashi glanced past her, his gaze landing squarely on Finn. "We used those funds to hire him."

"Him?" Tsunade whipped around to face Finn, her disbelief palpable. "You?!"

Hiashi nodded. "Yes. To save Konoha from Orochimaru's forces, I made the decision to offer all of the village's funds as payment to Mr. Finn. Without his intervention, we wouldn't be here today, standing in the village we've reclaimed."

Tsunade's anger faltered, replaced by confusion. "You mean... he's the reason we're back in Konoha?"

Hiashi's solemn nod confirmed it. "Yes. Mr. Finn fulfilled his contract to the letter. Without him, Orochimaru's forces would still control this village."

Tsunade turned back to Finn, her expression a whirlwind of emotions. "Why didn't you tell me?"

Finn shrugged, his tone casual. "I thought it was obvious. Didn't want to steal your dramatic moment."

The crowd was silent, the tension palpable. Villagers who had doubted Tsunade now saw her debt in a different light, while others began questioning Danzo's attempts to seize power amid such chaos.

Finally, Tsunade exhaled deeply, her voice steady but resolute. "If this debt is truly mine to bear, I'll find a way to repay it. But understand this—regardless of what I owe, I won't let Konoha fall into the hands of opportunists."

The crowd erupted, divided once more between Tsunade's defiance and Danzo's pragmatic ruthlessness. As the villagers debated, Finn crossed his arms, smirking at the chaos he had unleashed.
