I Choose In The One Piece Class, Do I Have A Choice?

Chapter 311: Master Ben Can Give It A Try!

Finn used his Conqueror's Haki to stun them all without killing a single one.

He decided to leave the matter to the people of Konoha to deal with. After all, there were those in the village who specialized in handling individuals like them. If these root ninjas could be rehabilitated, they might still serve the village. But if they couldn't change, the village's law enforcement would not show mercy in the shadows.

There was no need for Finn to become the villain. The task of dealing with these people should fall to others in the village.

"They seem to have fainted. Lord Finn didn't kill them," a ninja reported after checking on the root ninjas.

At this, Hyuga Hiashi let out a long sigh of relief. He looked at Finn gratefully and bowed respectfully. "Thank you, Lord Finn, for your mercy."

Tsunade, too, cast a thoughtful look at Finn, her perception of him shifting. Initially, she had thought him to be a reckless, powerful man, but now she realized he wasn't someone who would act out of pride or arrogance. Despite the root ninjas' attempt to attack him, Finn had shown mercy.

Her opinion of him had turned around, albeit in a subtle way.

Soon, the villagers and the root ninjas were rounded up. The focus then shifted back to the discussion regarding the Hokage position.

"Shimura Danzō turned out to be such a despicable, shameless man, and now that he's been dealt with, there is only one person who can take over as Hokage—Tsunade. I propose that Tsunade should take the position," Hyuga Hiashi stated.

The leader of the Aburame clan nodded in agreement. "I have no objections. Tsunade is more than capable."

The patriarch of the Yamanaka clan also chimed in, "I agree, I have no objections."

"Our consultants agree as well," Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu nodded together.

Just as everyone thought the matter was settled, Finn slowly descended from the sky, his feet touching the ground with purpose.

"I have an objection!" he announced, his voice cutting through the conversation.

The room went silent, everyone slightly taken aback.

What's this about? Finn wasn't even from Konoha, so why should he have an objection? Was he going to use force to impose his will on them and push for a puppet who would do his bidding?

Although Finn's strength was undeniable, the people of Konoha were loyal to their village. If he tried to interfere in their affairs, it would not sit well.

"Don't misunderstand," Finn said, raising his hands in a gesture of explanation. "I'm not trying to influence your choice of Hokage. But the person you're about to choose has already pledged allegiance to me."

He spread his hands with a helpless expression.

Tsunade's heart skipped a beat. Finn didn't say she was his slave or that she was following him—he just casually stated that she was his.

Something about this phrasing struck her, making her feel that Finn was showing her a certain level of respect, preserving her dignity in a way she hadn't expected. Her view of him shifted once again.

"What do you mean?" Mitokado Homura asked, furrowing his brow and eyeing Finn carefully.

"As I mentioned earlier," Finn explained with a casual tone, "Tsunade owes me a significant amount of money, and to settle the debt, she mortgaged herself to me. Until that debt is paid off, she's effectively in my service."

The room fell into an awkward silence as Finn's words hung in the air.

Tsunade's temper flared instantly.

"Damn you!" she muttered under her breath. "You make it sound so simple!"

If Finn hadn't swindled all the money from Konoha Village, she wouldn't be in this position. How dare he make jokes about it now, after taking all their money?

The positive feelings she had towards Finn quickly vanished, replaced by a surge of frustration.

"Is this... true?" Mitokado Homura asked, his voice laced with embarrassment as he turned to Tsunade.

Despite her frustrations, Tsunade knew she couldn't deny it. The money Finn had lent her had, in fact, come from Konoha. The realization only made her anger burn hotter.

"Yes, I owe him that much," Tsunade confirmed, her voice tight with suppressed emotion.

It pained her to admit it, but there was no escaping the truth. The money Finn had given her was Konoha's, and that fact stung.

"Lord Finn..." Hyuga Hiashi began, standing up and preparing to speak.

But Finn immediately raised a hand, silencing him.

"Hyuga Hiashi," Finn said, his voice calm but firm, "I've shown you a great deal of respect. You need to understand, though, that you can't afford to be petty."

He looked at Hiashi with a piercing gaze, his tone unwavering.

"Be strong when it's time to be strong. Otherwise, people might think my leniency means I'm an easy target."

Hiashi froze, a chill running down his spine. He suddenly realized the danger of underestimating Finn.

People show respect because they are willing to. But don't mistake kindness for weakness. The lion may choose to play with the rabbit, but if the rabbit grows too bold, the lion won't hesitate to strike.

A cold sweat broke out on Hyuga Hiashi's forehead as he realized just how much he had misjudged the situation. He quickly retreated, no longer daring to speak.

Tsunade, sensing the tension, knew she had to step in before things escalated further.

"Everyone," she said, raising her voice, "Let's not argue about me anymore. I don't have any animosity toward Finn. The money I owe him is true, and yes, I still need to pay him back. But I cannot take up the Hokage position yet."

She paused, considering her words carefully.

"For now, we should find Jiraiya. If he's willing, he can return to take up the Hokage seat."

Tsunade's suggestion was a last hope. She didn't want to provoke Finn further, but she also didn't want the village to fall apart over this issue.

"Why..." Mitokado Homura sighed deeply. "We've been trying to find Jiraiya for a while, but all we've heard is that he refuses to return to the position of Hokage."

Tsunade's shoulders slumped slightly at the news.

"Is that so?" she murmured. "Then, things are more complicated than I thought."

Just then, Finn grinned. "That's easy enough to fix. You want someone with both strength and prestige to lead your village? If you don't mind, I'm happy to give it a try!"
