Chapter 5: I am proud of myself
I went to school and I found my friends and course mates reading their books seriously. I decided to also revise what I have read the day before. We read for a while when a teacher walked in. It was our English teacher. We had English test that day. After 40 minutes, the English teacher told us to submit our test which we did.
I was so happy because I knew that I did well in the test. We read our second book before the teacher walked in to give us a test. When the mathematics teacher walked in, she gave us a test. It took us an hour to finish the test she gave us. The test was a little bit difficult but I know that I passed. I tried my best on that test. We submitted the test to the mathematics teacher.
I was a little bit relieved because the teacher who came in next told us that we were not having test that day. We studied for another hour. Then we left the class to observe our lunch. Some of my friends went to buy snacks while some brought their cooked food from their home. We decided to meet under a mango tree in our school. When we were through with our food and snacks, we sat down under the mango tree and decided to have a chat.
We talked about different things that happened in the school and at our home when someone brought up the discussion about those students the teachers searched and told them to stay outside because of the paper they wanted to bring inside the class. The person told us that he heard from one of the senior student that the teachers suspended them for three weeks. I was shocked.
I thanked God that none of my friends did such a thing. If they had done such a thing I would have been devastated if they had been suspended for three weeks like those students. We talked for a while then we went to class. We read our notes and teachers who came into our class gave us tests. We did that till we finished lectures that day.
I went home. When I got home, I greeted my parents and went to my room. I showered and went to bed early because I was so sleepy. I needed a nap. When I woke up, we ate breakfast and did a little exercise. Then I told my parents about the students who carried papers that contained answers to the tests the teachers wanted to give us and the suspension my friend told me that they gave them. My parents told me not to be like them. I promised them that I would not do such shameful thing. My parents asked me how I did in my test and I told them that I think I would pass them. My parents told me that they are proud of me. I was happy because I am proud of myself too.
