Chapter 103: I Just Want a Single Ending [103]
Chihaya Anon glanced down at her chest, then looked away.
She could see her skirt perfectly, without any obstacles in the way.
"…"
She didn't even feel like saying anything.
Because if Gotoh Hitori were to look down, she probably wouldn't be able to see her skirt at all.
That, Anon was sure of.
On a side note, Shuka High's uniforms were actually pretty cute. Choosing this school had definitely been the right call.
Hahaha…
The more she tried to distract herself, the more upset she felt.
They were both pink-haired guitarists, so why was there such a massive gap in such an important area?
It just wasn't fair!
If there really had to be differences, why couldn't it be in something else?
While Anon was wallowing in her sadness, Kamigawa Saku had barely spared a glance at Gotoh Hitori before looking away.
He hadn't known she was hiding such an impressive figure either.
After all, he'd never seen her without her tracksuit on before. Even that time he'd visited her house, she'd kept the tracksuit on, hiding her shape.
All he could say was: looks could be deceiving.
But beyond that, Kamigawa felt no other thoughts.
After all, he viewed Gotoh Hitori as a friend.
Friends were friends, and there had to be clear boundaries!
Gotoh Hitori, meanwhile, was extremely uncomfortable.
She was so used to slouching and hunching over that suddenly sitting up straight felt alien to her.
And she could practically feel everyone's eyes on her, especially Chihaya Anon's intense gaze.
She just wanted to hide.
"So it's true," Yamada Ryo said knowingly, taking in Gotoh's fuller figure with a satisfied nod.
Nijika Ijichi couldn't help but ask, "You weren't just having Bocchi-chan take off her jacket so you could check, were you?"
"Yep." Ryo nodded shamelessly. "I'd always thought Bocchi looked a bit odd. Now it's finally confirmed."
"What even are you paying attention to? Put that observation skill of yours to actual use!" Nijika groaned.
"So Ryo-senpai notices these kinds of things, huh…"
Musing to herself, Ikuyo Kita glanced down at her own chest, comparing herself to Gotoh.
Hm, there was a slight difference.
Just a little!
After examining Gotoh, Ryo turned to Kamigawa and casually asked, "So, Saku, what's your favorite type of body on a girl?"
[Busty]
[Flat-chested]
[Average]
[Like them all]
With her question, everyone's attention shifted instantly to Kamigawa, and a list of choices appeared before him.
Chihaya Anon perked up, eager to hear his answer.
After all, his preference was the real issue here.
Nagasaki Soyo also leaned in, paying close attention. Even if she viewed Kamigawa as a younger brother, she still felt it was essential for her, as his "big sister," to know.
No hidden motives, of course.
"I don't have a particular preference," Kamigawa answered without hesitation. "You could say I like all types."
Big had its advantages, small had its charm.
He was fine with both.
Then again, none of this should really matter to someone aiming for a single-life ending, right?
[Charisma +9]
"Oh, alright."
Ryo sighed, letting the topic drop.
Anon, on the other hand, felt a wave of relief wash over her.
Now, she didn't have to worry about her own less-than-curvy figure.
He'd said himself he liked all types.
Nagasaki Soyo kept her usual calm smile, mentally filing away this bit of extra intel.
"…"
Noticing no one was watching her anymore, Gotoh quietly resumed her usual slouched posture, trying to shrink out of sight.
Technically, Ryo's dare had been for her to remove one piece of clothing; sitting up straight wasn't part of the punishment.
Therefore, she told herself she wasn't cheating.
No way could she keep sitting up straight like that.
After a few more comments on the topic, the conversation drifted on, and the game continued with a new round of Old Maid.
---
As the night wore on, they played a few more rounds before Nijika Ijichi made an announcement, "This will be the last round. If we keep going, we won't have time to start the study session."
Even though everyone was having a great time, they couldn't forget the main reason they were all here tonight.
Ryo protested, but she was quickly shut down by everyone else.
Seeing this, the others all agreed with Nijika.
"Finally won again!"
Matching his final pair and tossing his cards down, Kamigawa let out a satisfied sigh.
Winning against nine other people was no easy feat.
Now, he could sit back and wait for the last loser of the night.
"I lost."
Takamatsu Tomori held up the Joker card she'd been left with, speaking in a soft voice.
"Truth or dare?"
Kamigawa, as the winner, offered her the choice.
"Truth," she replied.
"Let's see… what should I ask?"
Kamigawa propped his chin in his hand, deep in thought.
Ordinarily, he'd use a chance like this to dig for useful information, just as he had with Shiina Taki earlier.
But the problem was, this time his target was Takamatsu Tomori.
He already knew plenty about her likes and dislikes.
If he asked something along those lines again, there wasn't much to gain.
So, he had to switch tactics.
"Alright, my question is this: How do you see me? Or rather, what kind of image do I have in your mind?"
Since he couldn't get any valuable information, he might as well take the opportunity to assess how she felt about him.
It would help him gauge the right distance to maintain between them.
Takamatsu didn't answer right away. Instead, she gave his question serious thought.
Ryo muttered, "Such a narcissist…"
"This has nothing to do with narcissism," Kamigawa countered. "I'm just curious about her impression of me."
---
"Thoughtful, gentle… and fun."
After a moment's pause, Tomori spoke, and Kamigawa leaned in to catch her words.
But her answer left him unsatisfied.
All she'd done was list his positive traits—nothing he could actually use.
Maybe he'd made the wrong choice by asking something so broad.
Just as he started to regret it, Tomori added one last sentence.
"…A friend for life."
"Huh?"
Kamigawa froze for a few seconds, then felt a surge of excitement.
This was exactly what he wanted!
A friend for life… how perfect was that!
