I Just Want A Single Ending!

Chapter 115: I Just Want a Single Ending [115]

"Just like with other cosmetic review videos, we'll need someone to appear on camera. But that doesn't have to be either of us. We can find someone else to do it."

Saku Kamigawa shared his plan, something he'd been considering for a while now.

Knowing so many girls, how hard could it be to find someone to appear in a video?

Someone like Ikuyo Kita or Chihaya Anon would be ideal choices—they had the right charisma, and getting them involved would be no problem at all.

If they weren't comfortable in front of the camera, he could always just pay someone to fill in.

But ideally, the person on camera would be Nyamu Yuutenji.

Not only was she a desirable character to feature, but she was also highly skilled with makeup and had a significant following—an ideal choice if she was willing.

This could also give him a good excuse to approach Nyamu and test out the potential for collaboration.

Even if it didn't pan out, it would still give him a chance to get to know her better.

"So," Sakiko Togawa summarized, "I'll be handling the reviews, while someone else appears in the video?"

"Exactly," Saku confirmed.

"Then, you're not just planning to post it on Instagram, right?" Sakiko continued to question.

"Right."

Since he wouldn't be appearing on camera, posting the video on YouTube was no issue at all.

In fact, this type of video was perfect for YouTube.

Pausing briefly, Saku asked, "Do you have any other questions?"

"How often will we post videos?"

Sakiko seemed particularly interested in this, as it would dictate her workload.

"Probably once or twice a month," Saku replied without hesitation.

"Isn't that a bit too little?"

Sakiko suddenly felt she might be overpaid.

If they were only producing two videos a month, that meant she'd only be writing two reviews.

That… didn't exactly feel like it matched her salary, did it?

"It's already quite a bit. Skincare products aren't like snacks that you can consume in a short time. They require long-term use to show effects," Saku explained in greater detail. "I can do daily snack reviews without any issues, and my audience doesn't question it. But skincare reviews? Definitely not."

"After all, anyone can finish a bag of snacks in a day—even a child."

"Exactly, so even if I update daily, my followers trust my snack reviews."

"But for skincare products? Posting daily skincare reviews would seem strange, wouldn't it?"

"It would make people think that I was making judgments after only a day of use. That's hardly believable or professional."

"My account is all about providing expert reviews, so I have to spend a reasonable amount of time using skincare products to offer a reliable review."

After listening, Sakiko agreed with his approach but added, "What about cosmetics, though? Those usually don't require long-term use—you just need a few applications to see the effect."

"Those will also be part of the monthly schedule, once or twice."

Saku had clearly thought this through.

"Why?"

Sakiko was curious.

"Rarity creates value. If you were responsible for promoting a cosmetics brand, would you prefer a reviewer who posts only twice a month but provides in-depth, professional reviews, or one who uploads daily, saying negative things about one brand's foundation, recommending another brand's eyebrow pencil the next day, and reviewing yet another product the day after?"

Saku's question seemed obvious.

"I'd choose the former."

With this explanation, Sakiko immediately understood.

She'd never done this type of work before, nor had she delved deeply into the field. Only recently had she started researching, hence her previous confusion.

"High quality, high return—remember?" Saku reminded her. "That's why I'm counting on you to write professional-level reviews. That's exactly why I hired you."

"I'll deliver."

Sakiko felt confident in her abilities.

"Any other questions?" Saku continued.

"Nope, I'm good."

With all her doubts cleared, Sakiko felt quite satisfied.

Especially with the high quality and high return approach.

"So, shall we sign the contract?"

"Let's do it."

And with that, they signed the contract, each keeping a copy.

Saku extended his right hand toward her. "Here's to a successful collaboration."

"To a successful collaboration."

Sakiko smiled, shaking his hand.

"By the way, what about your customer service job…?" Saku asked, releasing her hand and putting the contract into his bag.

"I can quit anytime."

Sakiko didn't think she could handle both jobs at once.

Besides, the salary from her customer service job couldn't compare to what Saku was offering.

Staying in that role would just be a waste of her time.

"That's good to hear."

Rather than working in a mundane job, her talents would be much better utilized here, working alongside him as a reviewer.

Saku then pulled an envelope from his bag and handed it to Sakiko.

"Here's your salary for this month."

"…I haven't even started working yet, though?"

Sakiko looked at the envelope in front of her, feeling that he was treating her a bit too generously.

Saku kept his warm smile. "I'm just advancing you your pay, hoping you'll quit that customer service job as soon as possible."

Customer service was a tough job, and it'd be better for her to leave that life behind sooner.

"Thank you, I'll resign this afternoon."

After a brief hesitation, Sakiko accepted the envelope.

Since her father's drinking habit consumed a considerable amount of their money, she did need some extra funds right now.

Besides, he did say it was an advance.

"So, do you have any plans for the rest of the day?" Saku asked casually.

"I plan to submit my resignation, like we just decided."

"That'll have to wait until tomorrow. This afternoon, we're going shopping."

Saku finished his coffee in one gulp and spoke with unmistakable authority.

"Shopping?"

Sakiko reflexively repeated the word.

"We need to pick up some makeup and other essentials. Your job has already begun," Saku explained briefly.

"Got it."

Sakiko quickly adapted to her new role.

She stood up, instinctively reaching for the bill to pay.

"No way I'd let you pay for this," Saku said, taking the bill before she could. "What kind of boss makes their employee pay for coffee?"

With that, he headed over to the cashier.
