I Started To Gain Sentience In An Eroge

Chapter 123: [An] Kurokawa's Mother now has a name, too!

It was simple. Kurokawa's mother stood in front of the house without saying a word, and I went up to her without making a sound. After confirming the surroundings were clear, I quickly drew the knife near Kuro's mom's throat while holding her mouth with the other hand, carved a crimson scratch on her beautiful white neck, and...persuaded her to do what I wanted.

One thing was noteworthy, though. Before striking the woman down...I meant abducti...leading her away, yeah... Anyway, Kuro's mom standing before her own house in complete silence brought an eerie feeling. Lights from the street lamp above hit her body and cast a long shadow. It kept me from seeing her facial expressions, although the distance between us was not great. Whether she was sad, stunned, or flabbergasted... I had no idea. The cool air certainly did not help with the creepy air she got around her, either. And yet, I disregarded everything quite fast. I did not want to understand what she thought standing there, nor did I care. What mattered was her cooperation, which baffled me quite a bit.

To make things easier, I pulled out her laced panties and stuck them into her mouth. That would ensure she would not scream, or at least loudly, especially when I was about to place a gift for Kurokawa!

Of course, except for a certain someone, nothing in the world was perfect, no matter which world it was. Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to meet C, my everything, the one to whom I devoted my entire being. Time was of the essence, and I did not want to reveal to him what we were doing behind the scenes. That would hinder pretty much all of my plans.

That and the fact they bonded, two of the main heroines who were never supposed to be friends, kept me from doing anything too drastic.

Then again, I was patient. With everything going on right now, C would sooner or later bless me with his never-ending grace. Once again, He would be in my arms. His wondrous warmth would soon embrace my body and soul.

After everything, we would be together again. And this time, C would receive the happiness he had always deserved.

"By the way, sorry about your pinky. It must have hurt a lot! I can't even imagine how you felt back at your place!"

Honest to C, I did not know cutting a simple finger would have so much blood!

"It was literally squirting out like a tiny fountain!" I looked down at her hand, where a bandage was tightly wrapping what used to be a finger. "Anyway, no hard feelings?"

Kurokawa's mother remained expressionless but stared at me with wide, empty eyes. I could not read anything out from her look. If I had to guess, it was a mixture of all the bad ones. She was more challenging to read than a dictionary.

"You seem uncomfortable. I would, too, if I were you. Luckily for me, that seems to not be the case. But hey! Look on the bright side! You didn't have to murder your daughter, or at least pick a fight with her, thanks to my intervention, see? As a matter of fact, you should be feeling thankful."

At that moment, I saw the undeniable flicker of sadness and pain in her dark pupils. Was that because of the situation, or maybe because of the word 'murder'? Either way, it did not matter.

"Oh! Look at that? You finally show something! That's not so hard, isn't it?"

And with those words, Kurokawa's mom stopped looking at me. Her eyes were closed, and her shoulders slumped slightly. Her posture made her appear to have completely given up, not paying attention.

"Bah! You're no fun!"

Suddenly, an announcement rang:" We are reaching the final stop. Dear passengers, please make your way toward the exits! We are reaching..."

Ah, it was time to head home. In any case, I decided to stop playing with Kuro's mother and started to get into my initial purpose. Holding a knife in one hand, I slowly forced her to stand up. Honestly, it was hard!

"Come on, let's go! Sooner or later, Kurokawa will come for you. If there is anything I understand about her, it is her complicated feelings toward her mother. Until that time comes, you'll be with me. There is no need to hurt you further since my target has been achieved. And about the finger, it served as a tribute for Kuro and Rachel. You can say your finger represents both a threat and an invitation, depending on the person looking at it." As I said her daughter's name, the woman opened her deep brown eyes and glanced at me. And once again, there were hints of grief in them.

"I don't know how much you remember. But in my world, Kurokawa chose to die inside the house by cutting her wrist. The thing is, when C got to her, she did not just cut her wrist. Oh, no, no! She has tried doing that many times, but it did not make a big difference. Looking at the scene back then, I guess Kurokawa used the meat cleaver and severed her entire hand before her death. Of course, she was no master butcher like Rachel, so some skin and muscles were still dangling when we picked her body up."

Instantly, the face of Kurokawa's mother frowned. Her face contorted with pain and regret upon learning what had happened as her entire body slumped down, which nearly made me fall because of her weight! Finally, for the first time since we got on the train, she said an apology. Not to me, duh!

"I'm sorry...I'm so...so sorry... Kurokawa...It's all my fault..."

I looked at her, feeling a bit of pity. Even when Kurokawa's mother seemed pathetic and miserable, I could not help but see my past within her. It was somewhat ironic, too, since I was supposed to be younger than that woman. Yet, inside me was a deep connection to her regret. Though unrelated to her particular circumstances, I knew well the sadness of harming the person you cared deeply for.

The next part was the most crucial. That woman needed to behave and wait until her daughter came to me. That was when we could really start making some progress.

"I know you want to make it up to your daughter. I understand perfectly how that feels like. In fact, you let me cut your finger without fighting back because you thought it would make your conscience feel better, didn't you?"

With a surprised look in her eyes, Kurokawa's mother nodded slowly.

"Hey! I'm not that stupid, y'know?! Come on out! The door is opening!"

Pressing the knife on Kurokawa's mother's bare back, we made our way forward alongside the shadow people who boarded the train like us.

"Anywho, I get what's going on with you. You're probably suicidal right now after learning the truth about this world and about everything else, but that is not what you should do ultimately." Setting my house as the destination, I started guiding the woman, still pressing my weapon on her back as a backup. Although I doubted she would do anything out of the ordinary with her current mental state, taking an extra precaution was never wrong. "Oh! Make a left here!"

The woman did not say anything. She only stared blankly ahead and walked.

"You made a mistake. Everybody makes mistakes. Everybody has those days. Nobody's perfect! If you decide to un-alive yourself now, isn't it meaningless for Kurokawa to suffer everything? What you should do, lady, is wait for Kurokawa to make the final judgment on what to do with you. That's how the correct sequence should be. In other words, your life is not in your hands but in your daughters! Ah! Hold up! There's an alley ahead. We can make a shortcut there!"

Like a mindless zombie, Kuro's mom continued to move according to my instructions. She did not reply to anything I said, yet somehow, I felt like her feet were getting less heavy.

After a few minutes of nothing except the winds blowing through the empty streets and the sound of footsteps, feeling bored, I continued to talk to the woman:" I guess I can let you in on the plan a little bit. It's not like it's a huge secret or anything."

Still not a word, Kurokawa's mother tilted her head slightly, listening to my voice.

"First, I take you as a hostage and put your finger down to show them how serious I was. Then, I get Kurokawa to come to us and join us with your freedom as ransom. And third, also most important,..." I stopped for a second to gather words. "I didn't think we would get this far!"

Maybe it was just me, but I saw the woman's right eye twitch.

"Hey! Hey! Lady, you don't have a name, do you? You have always been Kuro's mother. How about I give you a name?"

Since she would be with me for a few days, I thought it was better to address the woman by a name. I did not want to say Kurokawa's mother all the time. That was a heck of a mouthful!

"From now on, I'll call you...um...I'm not good at this you need to give me a few seconds. Um...uh...Oh, I got it! I'll call you Kumo! Ku in Kurokawa. Mo in mother! Aren't I smart?!"

This time, I saw Kumo's entire forehead twitch. No idea why.
