Chapter 63: I Can't Let It Go Without Showing Something in Return
“An Enlightenment Pill?”
Li Xun’s eyes lit up.
Having used one before, he was well aware of its incredible effects.
With this pill, he might be able to attempt cultivating the Great Yan Divine Technique.
A High-grade Heaven technique! Just thinking about it made him excited.
Li Xun found a clean rock and gently placed Liu Qingshuang on it before walking toward Elder Xie.
As he approached Elder Xie from behind, he asked, “Elder, are you interested in these two Otherworldly Demon corpses?”
“You’re back?”
Elder Xie turned around, glanced at Li Xun, and smiled. “Otherworldly Demons haven’t appeared in this world for countless years. Each corpse is extraordinarily valuable.”
“It’s true that I’m quite interested,” he admitted. However, Elder Xie was deliberating internally on what price he should offer to make Li Xun part with them.
“In that case, Elder, I’ll give them to you,” Li Xun said nonchalantly.
To him, the two corpses were of no use. He wasn’t skilled in treasure crafting, and keeping them would only take up space.
Giving them to Elder Xie today would allow him to exchange them for an Enlightenment Pill.
“Give them to me?” Elder Xie raised an eyebrow, finding it hard to believe. He said seriously, “Do you know the value of these Otherworldly Demon corpses? Their world is vastly different from ours.”
“From the moment they start cultivating, Otherworldly Demons focus on tempering their bodies. You could say their bodies are their greatest treasures, comparable in value to a monster core from the demon race!”
In this world, monster cores were incredibly valuable, containing the essence of a demon’s lifetime cultivation.
Yet, even monster cores paled in comparison to Otherworldly Demon corpses. After all, there were many demons in this world, but not a single Otherworldly Demon.
The disparity in rarity made the value difference clear at a glance.
“But these are merely Profound Elixir Realm Otherworldly Demons. To me, they’re nothing more than lifeless objects. Giving them to Elder Xie today would allow them to serve a purpose,” Li Xun said.
Elder Xie didn’t respond immediately.
After thinking for a moment, he produced a jade token and handed it to Li Xun. He said solemnly, “Otherworldly Demon corpses are incredibly valuable. Since you’re giving them to me, I can’t let it go without showing something in return.”
“When we return to the Profound Sun Sect, take this jade token to the Scripture Pavilion and choose a mid-grade Earth-level technique. If anyone questions you, just tell them I approved it!”
“Thank you, Elder,” Li Xun said, accepting the jade token with delight.
Each minor grade increase in Earth-level techniques represented a several-fold increase in value.
With this single exchange, he not only obtained an Enlightenment Pill but also a mid-grade Earth-level technique—a deal that was undeniably lucrative.
What’s more—
He still had a Technique Advancement Token.
On the surface, Elder Xie was giving him a mid-grade Earth-level technique. But in reality, it would become a mid-grade Heaven-level technique!
The value gap between minor grades in Earth-level techniques was already significant, but with Heaven-level techniques, the disparity became even more staggering.
“It’s I who should thank you,” Elder Xie said, waving his hand. “In terms of rarity, Otherworldly Demons are far less common.”
“This act of yours has earned you a favor from me.”
“Oh, by the way,” Elder Xie added as he remembered something. “The Earth-level technique is just one reward. Once we return to the sect, there will likely be other rewards as well.”
“I’ll arrange for someone to deliver them to you.”
“More rewards?” Li Xun’s eyes sparkled. He understood now—his act of giving the Otherworldly Demon corpses to Elder Xie was paying off.
Without it, even if there were additional rewards, he’d likely have to claim them himself. But now, Elder Xie would personally arrange for them to be delivered to him.
It seemed that even in the world of cultivation, aside from the battles and rivalries, human connections and courtesy still played a role.
After thanking Elder Xie once more, the elder nodded slightly without saying much. With a wave of his sleeve, he collected the two Otherworldly Demon corpses.
He then glanced at the gathered inner sect disciples.
A shadow of sadness flickered in his eyes.
Of the more than a thousand who had set out, barely over five hundred remained.
Losing more than half of the inner sect disciples in this ordeal was undoubtedly a significant blow to the Profound Sun Sect.
“Golden Lion!” Elder Xie called out.
In the void above, a massive golden lion let out a resounding roar. As if receiving a command, its already towering body—over ten meters tall—grew even larger, resembling a small mountain.
It exuded an awe-inspiring and oppressive might.
Elder Xie lightly waved his sleeve, and a gentle breeze lifted all the inner sect disciples, setting them securely on the lion’s broad back. Once everyone was settled, the golden lion transformed into a streak of golden light, swiftly flying toward the Profound Sun Sect.

Upon returning to the sect, the disciples dispersed.
Li Xun, however, made his way alone to the Scripture Pavilion.
Before long, he arrived at the base of the pavilion, where the same elder in purple robes barred his way. The elder glanced at the identity token hanging from Li Xun’s waist.
“Your sect contribution points are insufficient; you cannot enter the Scripture Pavilion.”
Anticipating this response, Li Xun produced the token Elder Xie had given him and handed it over.
“Hmm?” The purple-robed elder’s expression shifted. After examining the token, he asked in surprise, “Elder Xie sent you here?”
“Yes,” Li Xun confirmed with a nod.
The purple-robed elder studied Li Xun closely, his attitude softening significantly. He stepped aside and said, “Very well, you may enter. Remember, you only have one hour.”
“You’re permitted to select one technique from the top three floors.”
“Thank you,” Li Xun said, bowing slightly before stepping into the Scripture Pavilion.
Once inside, Li Xun’s eyes scanned the first floor. Among the disciples browsing the texts, many outer sect disciples began to glow faintly white.
Simultaneously, the familiar voice of the system echoed in his mind.
“Just as expected—this place is still a goldmine for me!”
A faint smile appeared on Li Xun’s face.
After spending most of the hour investing in more than twenty disciples, he finally stopped, feeling quite satisfied. Leisurely, he ascended to the highmost three floors.
Behind him, several disciples gazed after him with eyes full of admiration.
Arriving at the ninth floor of the Scripture Pavilion, Li Xun noticed the stark contrast from the lower levels.
The techniques here were far fewer in number.
Earth-level techniques were exceedingly rare. Even in a large sect like the Profound Sun Sect, there were only seventy-three volumes in total, spanning the lower, middle, and high grades.
However, the high-grade techniques were off-limits, and the lower-grade ones didn’t interest Li Xun.
This left him with only seventeen techniques to choose from.
After careful deliberation, Li Xun finally settled on one: Purple Radiance Celestial Net Sutra.
Once the technique was transferred to his identity token, Li Xun quickly returned to his residence.
