Chapter 30
When the waiter realized something was amiss, he promptly turned and rushed out to find someone.
Liu Ling assumed the waiter was merely avoiding trouble and paid no further attention to him.
She took a couple of steps forward and gripped Shi Yi’s chin, scrutinizing that exquisitely beautiful face. She sneered, her eyes filled with malice and contempt.
“A lowly, seductive creature is treated as a treasure. What kind of thing is Pei Xing? He is just a countryman. This country master is interested in him because of his face, but he still has the guts to reject me. Does he really think this county master is someone easy to talk?”
A sinister and bloodthirsty smile crept upon Liu Ling’s lips as she seized a bottle and poured its contents into Shi Yi’s mouth.
Shi Yi’s arms were pinned by two burly men, and his jaw felt like it might break. He couldn’t close his mouth, and the chilling liquid flowed down his throat.
Liu Ling burst into maniacal laughter, a hint of madness in her eyes. She glanced at Ni Ta and directed the group of men, “After you’ve had your fun, throw him out for people to see. Let them witness a lustful vixen.”
With the drug taking effect, Shi Yi’s entire body felt as though it was going limp.
He finally realized why all the curtains and screens surrounding him had been drawn.
Liu Ling didn’t leave but stood beside Shi Yi, her eyes filled with bloodthirsty anticipation.
Shi Yi silently cursed Liu Ling as a pervert, his entire body trembling with fear.
Upon hearing Liu Ling’s words, the seven men in the room prepared to approach and tear off Shi Yi’s clothes.
Helpless, with his limbs restrained, Shi Yi was too weak to resist.
Shi Yi’s heart sank into despair. He forced himself to remain calm, taking a deep breath and closing his eyes.
In a hoarse and trembling voice, he whispered, “Please don’t tear my clothes to pieces. They’re valuable. Allow me to remove them myself. When it comes to… um, please be gentle. I’m too fragile to endure any harsh treatment.”
Liu Ling sneered at Shi Yi, expressing disdain and disgust. However, she agreed to this request. They had already administered the drug, so Shi Yi wasn’t in a position to resist. They intended to wait for the drug to fully take effect and then have their way with him. That was when the real fun would begin.
These people were no strangers to committing heinous acts, often following Liu Ling in these debaucheries.
It was uncommon to encounter a young shuanger as beautiful as Shi Yi, and they couldn’t resist the temptation. His words had only served to fuel their desires.
After they released Shi Yi, he hastily discarded his coat, which had already become tattered and baggy. The snow-white undershirt beneath it clung to his frame, revealing his slender collarbone and pale, delicate skin.
The men watched him closely, their eyes filled with lust.
Shi Yi held a small pistol in his hand, his heart racing.
Everyone in the room had their eyes fixed on him as Shi Yi lowered his gaze, slowly raising his arm. Under the watchful eyes of everyone, he quickly altered his aim, pointing the pistol in the direction of Liu Ling.
Two shots rang out. The bystanders couldn’t see clearly what Shi Yi held in his hand, but they heard the gunshots and turned their gaze toward Liu Ling.
Before they could react, Shi Yi discharged three more shots at the men randomly.
Regrettably, before he could fire his sixth shot, one of the men delivered a powerful kick, sending Shi Yi hurtling out of the room.
.
Qin Yue, who had just returned from an errand and entered Huanyue Tower, witnessed a figure being hurled from the upper floor. Without hesitation, he darted forward and caught the falling individual.
Shi Yi believed he was about to meet his demise, but when he looked up, he saw it was Qin Yue, the man who had saved him before. He was overjoyed and about to speak when an overwhelming surge of emotions overpowered his reason. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he began crying, seemingly pleading to be killed while he was still alive.
Qin Yue: “…”
Observing that something was amiss with Shi Yi, he swiftly rendered him unconscious with a palm strike and carried him to Feixue Pavilion.
Feixue Pavilion was the best courtyard within Huanyue Tower, and naturally, it came with a hefty price tag.
In this courtyard, there were a total of five buildings, with Bihaiyuan, the one chosen by Pei Xing and Zhou Yan, being the largest and closest to Feixue Pavilion.
.
Liu Ling had suffered gunshot wounds in the shoulder and lungs, with a significant portion of her white dress soaked in crimson.
One of the men had been fatally shot in the head, while the remaining two sustained gunshot injuries—one in the arm and the other in the chest, close to the waist.
Two of the men who had remained safe were panicked, despite the fears of being punished for their negligence to protect the county master, they contemplated that escape might be the only way out, but they still opted to take the injured people back to Chengyang Mansion.
Spectators had initially assumed that the loud noises were part of a staged performance by the storyteller. However, upon seeing two blood-soaked people being carried down from the upper floor—one with a gaping head wound and the other drenched in blood—they became agitated.
Realization struck that the disheveled person who had plummeted from the upper floor was a murder attempt and the blood-covered woman were none other than Liu Ling, the County Master of Chengyang County from the prince family.
Panic ensued, and the onlookers scattered in every direction.
.
As soon as Pei Xing left Chengyang Mansion, he encountered a frantic waiter waiting at the entrance, which caused his heart to plummet.
The waiter appeared distressed and quickly conveyed that something terrible had occurred.
The person in front of him suddenly vanished, when the waiter saw a flying figure no far away, he froze with his mouth wipe open.
In a matter of moments, Pei Xing reached Huanyue Tower.
When the innkeeper spotted him, beads of sweat formed on his forehead, and he anxiously informed him about the incident.
“Where are they?”
Pei Xing inquired with a stern expression; his gaze as cold as ice.
“County Master Liu is gravely wounded…”
The innkeeper shook his head, wiping away the perspiration from his forehead, his voice trembling.
Pei Xing cast a cold glance at him.
“The young master has been taken to Feixue Pavilion by Mr. Qin.”
The innkeeper was on the verge of tears but had none left to shed. His legs quivered, and he slapped himself across the face multiple times. He was utterly confounded. Why had he mentioned County Master Liu?
It was clear that this mistake would likely cost him his job.
Pei Xing raced to Feixue Pavilion but was immediately slapped upon entering.
