Shi Yi was taken aback by the doctor’s outburst and couldn’t understand what he was so upset about.

The doctor stared at them for a long time, nearly having his eyes pop out. There were Huiming Pills; so many of it!!!

Pei Xing, holding the medicinal soup, opened the door and saw the doctor glaring angrily and leaving with his medicine box. Shi Yi, still puzzled by the doctor’s behavior, thought the doctor had a strange temper.

He chased after the doctor and soon returned with Xiao Bao’s medicine. After Xiao Bao’s fever subsided, Shi Mo’s heart felt lighter.

Six days ago, Jingxiao was out with his team and the madam sent him into that place. He was imprisoned in that desolate courtyard; his clothes and food were withheld. Xiao Bao was seriously ill and he wanted to invite a doctor but he couldn’t even get out of the place.

“What’s wrong with the doctor?” Pei Xing asked Shi Yi what happened just now.

Shi Yi also recounted the doctor’s unusual behavior, “He said he wanted to use the Huiming Pills, so I took them out. He thought I was wasting the medicine, so I showed him my supply from you then he left without saying anything. He has such a weird temper.”

Pei Xing guessed that the doctor probably felt distressed because such miraculous medicines were exceedingly rare but a common goods for Shi Yi. He reached out and touched Shi Yi’s face, “Maybe he has good skills. Doctor like that usually have weird temper.”

Shi Mo had never heard anyone say this medicine before. Even in the Bai Mansion no one talked about Huiming Pill. Even Jingxiao didn’t talk about it to him, he didn’t know about the medicine. He just thought it was much expensive than ordinary medicine.

Shi Yi didn’t rush to ask about his brother’s condition. He let his brother rest for the night and planned to talk again tomorrow.

The following morning, they went to a clothing store and purchased new outfits for Shi Mo and Xiao Bao. However, the doctor had other plans.

Not wanting to waste for a good deal, the doctor showed up at their door, carrying his medicine box. He quickly informed them of his intention to discuss a business proposition.

Pei Xing understood the doctor’s request and invited him into the room. The doctor wasted no time opening the medicine box to reveal its contents, which included a considerable amount of gold.

After a long silence, Shi Mo finally glanced at Xiao Bao, who was asleep on the bed, and nodded. With Shi Mo’s agreement, the plan to leave the Bai Mansion without returning was set in motion.

They couldn’t simply take Shi Mo away due to his status as Bai Jingxiao’s concubine; negotiation with Madam Bai were necessary. However, there was the added complication of the contract deed which still in Bai Jingxiao’s hand.
