I Was Sold to My Mortal Enemy (Double Transmigrations)

Chapter 46 - I

“You’ve got the wrong person.”

Shi Mo pushed him away with a cold expression and attempted to close the door.

Bai Jingxiao stepped forward, blocking him, and forcefully pushed the shuanger into the yard. He gazed at Shi Mo with a pained look in his eyes.

“Do you truly want to leave me so badly? You even resorted to such clumsy tactics as pretending to die.” His voice quivered as he grabbed Shi Mo.

Shi Mo’s hands couldn’t help but tremble, his eyes welled with tears.

“Do you know, I genuinely believed that you and Xiao Bao had succumbed to illness. Why are you so cruel?!”

Shi Mo avoided looking at him, his eyes rimmed with hidden redness. He fought hard to suppress the urge to cry, maintaining a stoic and frigid exterior.

“Isn’t this what you wanted? You won’t acknowledge Xiao Bao anyway. I’ve made room for you, so you can take in more beautiful concubines. There are plenty of people willing to give birth for you, and you won’t be lacking in children.”

Bai Jingxiao paused, pulling the person into his embrace and repeatedly apologizing, his voice filled with sorrow. “It’s because I’m naive and a bastard, Mo’er, please forgive me this once.”

Shi Mo closed his eyes and released his tears. He pushed Bai Jingxiao away, but his voice still held a trace of crying.

“We have no connection anymore. Please have some self-respect, Young Master Bai.”

Upon hearing this, Bai Jingxiao’s heart ached as he was about to cry. He held him tightly and refused to let go.

Shi Yi, who had overheard, finally understood that his lousy brother-in-law was present. He immediately grew furious, stepped forward, grabbed the man’s clothes, and attempted to toss him out. However, after a considerable struggle, he found himself unable to move him.

Pei Xing walked over, smiled and shook his head, ruffled Shi Yi’s hair, raised his hand, and grabbed Bai Jingxiao’s arm, effortlessly throwing him out the door.

Bai Jingxiao stood there stunned. He had practiced martial arts from a young age and had passed the martial arts examination at the age of sixteen. His martial skills surpassed those of ordinary individuals, yet here he was, tossed out like a rag doll.

.

Shi Yi peeked out from behind Pei Xing, observing Bai Jingxiao as he brushed off the snow from his body and glared at them with a hostile look.

Enraged, Shi Yi immediately stepped forward and, after sizing up Bai Jingxiao, voiced his disdain. “The world has certainly gone downhill. You may look human, but you certainly don’t act like one. You’ve got the nerve to come to my house and harass my cousin.”

Bai Jingxiao’s face darkened upon being scolded. He glared back with an ominous expression and stated coldly, “Shi Mo’s contract is still in my possession. Don’t even think about taking him away from me.”

Shi Yi chuckled, as if he was mocking Bai Jingxiao.

“What did you say? Shi Mo? Shi Mo?!” Shi Yi gave him an incredulous look, lifted the corner of his mouth, and proclaimed loudly, “My eldest cousin’s surname is Lin, and his name is Momo. We’re very close friends. Please stop randomly identifying relatives.”

“Changing your name won’t make a difference. Shi Mo is my concubine, and his household registration is still with me,” Bai Jingxiao said bitterly.

Furious due to the earlier incident involving Xiao Bao, he had said many hurtful things without thinking, and in a fit of anger, he left Shi Mo at home and headed north for business. After a while, he calmed down and realized something was amiss.

He rented a speedboat and raced back. Upon his return, he heard the news that Shi Mo and Xiao Bao had died of an illness, nearly driving him crazy.

Rumors circulated widely in Nanzhou City, and he diligently investigated every suspicious aspect. He even looked into the false claim that Xiao Bao wasn’t his child and discovered that he had been mistaken, which was utterly outrageous.

“Wow, it seems you’re incapable of understanding human language,” Shi Yi sighed. “How many times have I told you? My eldest cousin’s last name is Lin, and his household registration is under my family. Don’t create a scene here and leave quickly.”

Bai Jingxiao seemed taken aback that they had even transferred the household registration. He appeared quite flustered for a moment, struggling to accept that Shi Mo was truly breaking up with him.

He hadn’t figured out what to do, but Shi Yi’s words further incensed him.

“Do you think that my eldest cousin’s husband has just passed away, and he is an easy target? Just wait for me. I’ll hire a matchmaker as soon as possible to find someone for my eldest cousin, someone who’s both wealthy and attractive. You’re in for a surprise!”

.

After uttering those words, he pulled Pei Xing into the yard, closed the door with a resentful expression, and peeked through the door’s crack at Bai Jingxiao, whose face had turned green with anger. Shi Yi wore a delighted smile.

“Do you think he’ll lose his mind in anger?”

“Perhaps,” Pei Xing gently touched his cold face, affectionately looking into his eyes. “Come inside; you’ll catch a cold.”

“Let him go mad. I don’t care, he is the one who made my brother so sad.” When Shi Yi thought of Xiao Bao, his heart ached terribly, and he silently cursed Bai Jingxiao eight hundred times in his heart.

He felt a deep loathing for him. He grabbed Pei Xing and exclaimed, “Tomorrow, we’ll find a matchmaker to help my brother. We’ll find someone who’s better-looking and wealthier than him to drive that man insane.”

“Stop causing trouble; your brother isn’t in the mood for that right now.” Pei Xing pinched his rosy cheeks and shook his head.

Shi Yi fell silent for a moment. He had overheard everything Shi Mo and Bai Jingxiao had discussed earlier. Bai Jingxiao was such a bastard, even doubting that Xiao Bao might not be his biological child.

“There must be a misunderstanding here,” Pei Xing reassured Shi Yi, holding his hand and looking into his eyes. “I’ll talk to Bai Jingxiao later. You go check on Shi Mo.”

Shi Yi appeared a bit dissatisfied as he glanced at Pei Xing, “Why are you defending that Young Master Bai? My brother and Xiao Bao nearly lost their lives, and it was his fault.”

“I know, he must be responsible for this.” Pei Xing pulled Shi Yi into his arms, kissed his forehead, and inquired, “Baby, do you think your older brother has been happy during this time?”

Shi Yi looked at him without uttering a word, gently shaking his head.
