Ignus and A'Moi

Chapter 25: A'Moi's on a Date?

The day before the tournament was bustling with excitement and anticipation. Ignus and A'Moi had been training diligently, but today was different. Roxy had approached A'Moi with a request, her cheeks flushed with a hint of nervousness.

"A'Moi, would you like to go to the market with me?" Roxy asked, her eyes shining with hope.

A'Moi, caught off guard by the sudden invitation, hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to respond. Ignus, ever the playful friend, grinned and nudged A'Moi. "Come on, A'Moi, it's not every day a pretty girl asks you out. You should go with her."

A'Moi blushed, feeling a mix of embarrassment and gratitude. "I... I would love to go with you, Roxy," he finally managed to say, his voice soft but sincere.

With a smile, Roxy led the way to the market, chatting excitedly about the various stalls and goods they would see. A'Moi found himself relaxing in her presence, enjoying her company more than he had expected.

As they wandered through the market, admiring the vibrant colors and fragrant smells, they came across a commotion at one of the stalls. A man dressed in elaborate armor, adorned with the kingdom's crest, was aggressively berating a shopkeeper, threatening to destroy his stall.

A'Moi's instincts kicked in, and he stepped forward, his voice calm but firm. "Please, stop this. There's no need for violence."

The man, taken aback by A'Moi's boldness, scoffed and tried to push past him. A'Moi, however, stood his ground, gently but firmly grabbing the man's arm and using his martial arts skills to flip him onto his back.

The man, now lying on the ground, looked up at A'Moi with a mixture of anger and humiliation. Without another word, he scrambled to his feet and hurried away, leaving the shopkeeper and Roxy staring at A'Moi in awe.

"Wow, A'Moi, that was amazing!" Roxy exclaimed, her eyes wide with admiration. "I had no idea you were so skilled."

A'Moi shrugged, a modest smile on his face. "I just couldn't stand by and watch someone being bullied. It's not right."

The shopkeeper, grateful for A'Moi's intervention, thanked him profusely, offering him and Roxy some of his finest wares as a token of his appreciation.

After the commotion had settled, Roxy and A'Moi continued their stroll through the market, their conversation flowing easily. Roxy shared details about herself, including her age, 17, her favorite color, orange, and her favorite food, beef skewers. A'Moi listened intently, feeling a warmth in his heart as he learned more about this girl who had captured his attention from the moment they met.

In turn, A'Moi opened up about his dreams and aspirations, as well as his friendship with Ignus. He spoke highly of Ignus, admiring his strength, intelligence, and kindness. Roxy listened with rapt attention, feeling a deeper connection with A'Moi as he shared his thoughts and feelings.

As the day drew to a close, A'Moi walked Roxy back to the inn, their conversation filled with laughter and shared moments. The events of the day had brought them closer together, forging a friendship that would last far beyond the tournament. And as they said goodnight, A'Moi couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected turn of events that had led him to this moment, walking beside the girl who had stolen his heart.
