As Jeanne solemnly declared, the hostile atmosphere in the room reached its peak.

Finally, Fang Li understood what "Bandire" truly meant.

It was essentially a proxy war between nations.

Though there were no massive armies or nuclear weapons involved, this was a battle between superhumans and their respective factions, clashing forces that represented global powers.

The scope of this conflict would span the entire world.

In other words, this "Bandire" was the start of an alternate world war.

As one of the main participants and the host of this event, Jeanne made her position clear first.

"First, I, representing the remnants of I-U Daio, declare allegiance to Deen."

Jeanne's declaration was like a stone thrown into a calm lake, finally breaking the tense silence.

The nun carrying a cross-like greatsword on her back, dressed in religious attire, immediately stepped forward with a devout expression, praying as she spoke.

"I, Meiya-Romano, representing Vatican City, declare allegiance to Deen. From ancient times, Vatican City has stood against the filthy Grenada. There's no reason to change sides."

Meiya's declaration prompted a sneer from the witch wearing a pointed hat, who also stepped forward.

"Then I, Katze-Grasset, representing the Regiment Hex, declare allegiance to Grenada. Witches have always stood with Grenada. We'll be the ones to wipe out these so-called righteous forces of Deen."

Katze-Grasset's words made Hilda laugh behind her hand before she spoke.

"Indeed. As a member of the darkness, Grenada is the only place for us. I, Dracula-Hilda, naturally declare allegiance to Grenada."

As she said this, Hilda turned her gaze to the fox-eared little girl standing nearby.

"And you, Tamamo?" Hilda asked. "You were part of Grenada in the last war. There's no reason for you to join Deen, right?"

Hearing this, the little fox girl, Tamamo, shook her head and responded in a clear, childlike voice.

"No, Hilda. This time, I won't be joining Grenada. Hotogi and Vatican City formed an alliance in this war, so I will be joining Deen."

The mention of "Hotogi" immediately caught Fang Li's attention.

"Hotogi?"

Could she be referring to the Hotogi Shrine?

Is it possible that this fox-eared girl, Tamamo, has some connection to the Hotogi Shrine?

Before Fang Li could figure out the answer, the rest of the group began declaring their allegiances.

"I, Zhuge Jinghuan, representing Ranban, declare allegiance to Grenada."

This declaration came from the man dressed in Chinese garb with a sinister smile.

"I, Patra, representing I-U's Ignatis, declare allegiance to Grenada."

This came from a girl wearing a golden cobra crown and dressed in a very revealing outfit.

"I, Habi, declare allegiance to Grenada."

This was declared by the young girl in a kimono with horns on her head and an innocent expression.

All of these individuals chose Grenada, bolstering its ranks.

Only one person sided with Deen.

"I, Reki, representing the Ulus tribe, declare allegiance to Deen."

It was Reki, the quiet girl leaning against the wind turbine, who made this declaration.

With this, both factions now had powerful members on their sides.

At this moment, a different kind of declaration was made.

"We, Liberty Mason, choose to remain neutral for now."

This voice came from someone shrouded in mist, making it hard to see their full appearance.

"Is that acceptable, Jeanne?"

Hearing this, Jeanne seemed unsurprised and calmly nodded.

"There have been instances in past Bandire events where participants chose neutrality."

"However, you must understand that neutrality is only temporary. If you choose to remain neutral, you cannot participate in the battles. Only the two factions can engage in the war."

"So, if Liberty Mason eventually decides to join the fight, that means you've chosen a side. Is that clear?"

The figure did not respond but seemed to agree.

At this point, another voice spoke up.

"Genesis 41:11: 'We both had dreams the same night, and each dream had its own meaning.'"

Tohyama Kana spoke in a voice so enchanting it could make anyone swoon.

"Our Tohyama family is here purely in a personal capacity, so we'll remain neutral."

Tohyama Kana then turned to Tohyama Kinji and asked, "Is that alright with you, Kinji?"

"Aah," Tohyama Kinji nodded without hesitation, sounding annoyed. "That's for the best. I don't want to be part of this crazy war. Feels like it'd shave years off my life."

As Tohyama Kana and Tohyama Kinji finished speaking, silence suddenly fell over the group.

Half a second later, all eyes shifted to one person.

Fang Li.

Jeanne turned to Fang Li and asked directly, "Fang Li San, which side will you choose?"

Indeed.

Among all those present, Fang Li was the only one who had yet to choose a side.

Yet, despite the collective gaze of the crowd, Fang Li raised an eyebrow.

Then he spoke.

"Why should I have to pick a side? What does any of this have to do with me?"

One sentence made everyone's eyebrows rise in response.

However, Fang Li's point was perfectly reasonable.

"I don't belong to any faction, nor do I represent any organization. Honestly, being invited to this Bandire and asked to participate is a complete mystery to me."

Fang Li spoke without hesitation.

"This is a conflict between your factions. Do whatever you want. Why should I join?"

His words began to stir hostility among the crowd, as many started to grow resentful.

After all, Fang Li's words carried a tone of complete disregard for everyone present.

Even Jeanne frowned slightly and spoke up.

"You were the one who dismantled I-U. The fact that this war is happening is, in a way, because of you. Are you saying you have no intention of joining?"

However, Jeanne's words were met with indifference from Fang Li.

"Don't pin baseless responsibility on me."

Fang Li shot back bluntly.

"You all said yourselves that this conflict between the factions has always existed. I-U only caused a temporary truce, and now that I-U is gone, everything is simply going back to the way it was."

"Just because I took down I-U doesn't mean I have some obligation to play your war games."

"Forget it."

Fang Li's blunt response made the crowd's hostility surge to an all-time high.

The situation was on the verge of exploding.
