Illusive Eden - He Pretends He's the Hero

Chapter 27: Doom appears

"You will marry me?" A lone tear drips down his cocoa-coloured orbs. He finds it hard to identify assuming it may be an illusion, fearing it is just his unrequited truth.

"I'll marry you." She assures smiling.

"You feel like a dream." He breathes out faintly. Neva chuckles and cradles his head kissing his forehead.

"I love you. Indefinitely." He embraces her, his heart quivering in ecstasy.

"I'm forever grateful." She confesses, drawing apart she brushes away his tears and offers her fourth finger.

He gladly adorns the diamond ring with his Angel.

---

The special Christmas eve has come to it's Nightfall.

"I still can't process it!" Voices out Emma, snuggled up beneath Neva's kotatsu table.

"Me too," Neva wonders into chasm.

Concluding their sweet dinner the girls were resting, while the boys offered to do the clean up.

"So you'll officially be a bride at March?" Emma probes. Neva has her elbow layed down on the surface of the hot table, her palms cradling her cheeks.

"Why do you think that?" She probes, raising her eyebrow.

"Because you turn nineteen on March first!" Emma reasons, mirroring her posture.

"We are pacing alike a peregrine falcon." Neva chuckles.

A long break off later Emma exclaims, "I'm ecstatic about it, yet it's just bizarre, I mean darling you've been together for only a month!" Emma grimaces, Neva purses her lips empty of words.

"Babe let's go!" Hindering their conversation Zedd shows up and intervenes.

Emma and Neva both attends his presence.

"Now?" Emma queries, unwilling lacing her tone.

"Relax a while Zedd," Neva suggests.

"I'll get us some fruits." Neva stands up, coursing towards the kitchen.

"Um I think we should go," Zedd hints at his girlfriend for aid.

"You can leave after trying the fruits." Neva persists, swiftly disappearing.

"Why in a hurry babe? Come here!" Emma doesn't seem to acknowledge Zedd's bellow, he ambles near her and places himself close to her.

"You look scraped, what's wrong?" Emma queries, sensing him fugitive.

"My boss–I mean Neva's boyfriend he chills me out. You know he has this haunting aura," he gazes at the glittering wall accross him.

"It scares me." He gulps down, Emma amazed focuses on him, swiftly turning his head towards her.

Seeing his ghastly face, she laughs earning a glare from him.

On the alternative space, Neva scurries towards the kitchen, Rhett appears in the scene having daisies printed apron tied around his waist.

"You're not done yet?" Neva asks, processing past him—opening the refrigerator.

Placing the last platter on the drying rack, he clings onto Neva.

"I'm done angel, I'm sleepy." He nuzzles his head into her nap, Neva stretches her forehand and pats his head.

"It's only nine Rhett," she says, and he pecks the edge of her lips.

"I just want to be under the covers...with you beneath me." He leans near her ear, nibbling on her earlobe, whispering in his raspy, mellifluous voice.

Neva's pores rushes in a wintry air, raising shivers despite being in the warm interior of her dwelling.

"Rhett," she pushes herself apart from him,

—and wends her way towards the cabinet.

"There are guests waiting for these fruits."

Rhett chuckles, "Let me give you a hand."

Little moments elapsed, Emma and Zedd bid their goodbyes and goodnights to Neva and her fiance, grateful for a lavish dinner.

---

Frost upon a windowpane and the feathery falling snow unveils the freezing cold nature.

Here and now Neva and Rhett were tangled up, a quilt cozying them up on a couch near the crackling fire.

The warm hearth of her home comforting the hearts. The miracles of Christmas and the beauty of december, sparks in the lovers hearts. Perhaps a life is created to live in these fairy tale like realities.

A serene soul, hurling thoughts, flaming flesh.

They were in love, wishing to build a heaven with love and dreams.

"Did you like my present?" Rhett starts.

"The pendant or the ring?" The night getting darker, Neva bearing heavy eyelids queries.

"Both, I'm sorry the proposal was not as lavish." He says, unsure, he couldn't give her a perfect proposal.

Every woman would desire greater, than the one he had done in their kitchen.

Neva peers up at him, "It was out of the blue, but I wouldn't have it any other way." She answers honourably, resting her head on his comforting chest.

"I just want your all, for forever." He ushers, colliding their lips, sailing through blissful waves.

"I'm fearful, musing you would disappear please don't ever leave me." His soft eyes, drawn a mystical string to her own, reflecting the anxiousness in his chest.

"I will forever be with you." She smiles warmly. And he, easing at her words buries further in her, merging each other's spirits as one.

---

Saddening hearts, Christmas is over in a span of blinking eyes. Nevertheless, the joy the day leaves behind is to treasure for the forthcoming four seasons.

Until, fate decides to reconcile with such a merry occasion once more.

Neva's alone in her abode, half an hour ago, Rhett had to leave since an emergency occured in the car maintenance store, he said; he owns—as a part of his disguise.

Neva hurries to get the door, for the unpleasant doorbell's sound continues resonating round the apartment for the past minute.

She creaks opens the door, orbs trailing up, searching for the mystery visitor.

Her eyes eventually connects, to those dusky, deep eyes of his.

His heart away, his breath away...

"Rhett?" For a moment, twinkles delight in her cocoa eyes.

"Did you forget the passcode?" She urges once more, gazing up at him confusingly.

He imagined countless scenes, of how she would perceive him, countless times he illusioned different responses.

Nonetheless, her first words strikes conflicts in him.

He never could have read, the pages to flip this way.

Neva sensing unfamiliarity from him, subconsciously studies the man. He has her lover's features yet he appears, he screams a predominant offshore aura.

Her heart skips a beat; he was not Rhett, he had something, jarring about him.

Her gaze dulled, the guy facing her seems strange to her. His longer hair that's tied in a man bun. His outfit in contrast to what Rhett wore before he left.

"Neva, I'm Ishmael." He mumbles away, her chain of thoughts cut short by his hushed voice.

The cold winter, swirling wind blowing in the close of day, hovering over the darkened surround.

"Huh?" She creases her brows in astonishment. Why does he know her name?

'Did Rhett ever mention a sibling?'

"Don't you remember me?" He asks the girl parallel to him, wincing at his twisting heart strings. The blood thrashing, blaring, surging ocean in a thunderstorm.

She's a; heaven incarnate. He stands before her, praying, it should not be one of his day dream.

"Who could you be Mr.? Have we ever met before?" Neva probes, pulling him out of his trance.

"Yours, Ishmael." He swallows hard, his heart beating in a rhythm creeping the evil in him out.

"Mine?" Neva tilts her head, confused she mutters.

She suddenly rushes in, keeping the door still, leaving the man lonely in the frosty weather. Picking the phone from the couch, she dials a number.

"Angel?" His voice reverbs from the other end of the call.

Neva scared gulps down, she glances at the huge man standing at her door. "Rhett, where are you?" She asks timidly. "I'm at the store. Why? Is everything alright?" Worried by her tone, Rhett inquires.

"Something's not right, please come fast." She regrets not closing the door, hesitating nearing the intimidating man.

"Is the door locked? Stay inside, I'm coming."

"I-it's funny, it's weird." She struggles to speak, shivers running down her spine.

"The door's wide open, and the man at the door looks like you," Neva reveals, her voice hushed, petrified.

He tries to make sense of her words, going quiet for a second, he asks, "What?"

"This strange man, he looks like you!" Neva repeats herself, closing the phone to her lips.

He sweats cold. What would he need here? A week ago, he came accross him once.

The doom presents himself.

His beloved, in the same roof as him. His limbs go numb, the possibilities he imagines, choking him.

Raka has come to visit, a man who twins his countenance.

"Hear me Neva, do not engage with him. Get inside the bedroom, I have a dagger hidden in the left drawer by the bed. Protect Yourself."
