I'm in Honkai Impact's Infinite Abyss!

Chapter 280: Chapter 39: The Divine Separation

Is everything progressing too quickly?

Raiden Mei pondered with a dazed expression. She had just understood a portion of this body's abilities and hadn't even had a chance to try them out yet!

But those Anti-Entropy Titans didn't give Raiden Mei any time to think. After landing, they quickly unfolded, with a buzzing sound of mechanical structures rotating, aiming their barrels at Raiden Mei.

"Boom!"

Before Raiden Mei could react, under the stimulus of danger, the body of the Herrscher of Thunder reacted. She exerted force under her feet, almost skimming the ground as she shifted sideways, dodging the Titans' "welcome gift."

Luo Lin watched very clearly. These Titans varied in models, and their formations were diverse, but fortunately, they were all in ordinary coatings without any fancy specialized mechas, so they should be relatively easy to deal with.

"Mei, try attacking those long-range Titans first!"

Still in a state of confusion, Raiden Mei instinctively followed Luo Lin's command. With a light tap of her toe, she left behind an afterimage composed of black-red lightning and appeared in front of a missile Titan in the blink of an eye.

With her mind blank, Mei raised her hand and instinctively executed a sword technique.

Unfortunately, these Titans displayed performance far beyond reality. Although they looked battered and scratched, their armor actually withstood the attacks of the Herrscher of Thunder.

However, no matter how reinforced, the Herrscher of Thunder was still a Herrscher-level combatant. After a storm of rapid and fierce attacks, Mei accumulated enough Herrscher energy, leaped backward, and unleashed "Susanoo's Frenzy"!

The storm of slashes enveloped the Titan, shattered its armor, and the black-red lightning pierced through its chips and core, causing the mecha to emit a terrifying sound as it exploded into a fireworks display.

It was only after the mecha exploded that Raiden Mei snapped out of her confusion. She stared blankly at the wreckage of the Titan, completely unable to believe her own achievement.

Unfortunately, such bewilderment was a taboo on the battlefield. The girl with blue-purple long hair soon paid the price as the Titans surviving in the distance bombarded her face with shells and missiles.

The melee Titans were not willing to fall behind either; they charged towards her.

"Cough... Damn it..."

Raiden Mei ran out of the smoke in a sorry state, tears welling up in her eyes from the pain of the shells hitting her face.

Seeing this, Luo Lin couldn't help but marvel. At the moment of the explosion, the Herrscher erected the Honkai Energy Shield, greatly reducing the damage, leaving Mei with some scratches but not endangering her life.

The pain quickly brought Mei back to focus. She raised the "Domain of Sanction" high and rushed towards the long-range mechs still firing at her.

On her way, Raiden Mei even chopped down two missiles, but the force of the explosions made her arms numb, almost unable to grip the katana. She didn't attempt such a thing again.

Remembering Luo Lin's guidance from earlier, Mei attacked directly under the cannons of the Titans. She quickly realized that these long-range mechs didn't have many means to deal with close-quarters combat.

The girl with blue-purple long hair quickly thought of using these mechs as cover, but unfortunately, the Titans didn't care about friendly fire. After all, facing Valkyrie-level enemies, they seized every opportunity to cause damage.

Moreover, this was a system-modified space where the rules were closer to a game—have you ever seen monsters in the Abyss deal friendly fire?

Indeed, there were some, like a certain Anti-Entropy missile mech that liked to summon spider missiles to explode on itself, replenishing its ignition reserves; or a certain Quantum mech that liked to crash into pillars to commit suicide...

Of course, most monsters did not cause friendly fire. The Anti-Entropy mechs in this high-pressure challenge were no exception; their missiles covered Mei and her allies with explosions, showering her with debris.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, the melee Titans finally found a chance to engage her closely.

Next, Raiden Mei was in a very awkward situation. Not only did she have to watch out for the iron fists of these melee Titans, but she also had to be wary of the distant snipers raining fire on her, causing her attack speed to plummet.

The three-minute countdown steadily decreased, but the girl with blue-purple long hair didn't achieve any further results—she only managed to dismember the arms of the melee Titans besieging her.

Finally, when the countdown reached zero, the melee Titans and the Titans still firing missiles and launching rockets disappeared, and the blood-red, gigantic "Mission Failed" appeared in front of Raiden Mei.

The girl planted her katana into the ground, grimacing as she began to search for the wounds on her body. However, the system had already healed all her injuries, fully restoring her stamina. The only thing consumed was Raiden Mei's mental energy.

Just like Luo Lin experienced when battling in the Abyss, the system was indeed reliable in this aspect.

A few seconds later, Raiden Mei raised her voice and roared, "Senior Luo Lin! This isn't good! I thought I was going to die just now!"

"Haha... Even if you die here, it shouldn't be a problem. I just asked the system, and there's no problem at all."

Luo Lin muttered softly, "Besides, I went through the same thing back then, just a bit thrilling at the start, but you'll get used to it soon."

Raiden Mei was somewhat speechless. "Senior, I haven't undergone as much professional training as you. Just a while ago, I was still an ordinary student..."

Then again, I was an ordinary person who had hardly touched a kitchen knife before transmigrating...

However, Luo Lin promptly apologized to Mei, "Sorry, I thought you would quickly adapt and easily slaughter those mechs."

Mei grumbled, "How could a normal person adapt to a new body all at once?! That's too strange!"

A certain Valkyrie who could switch between three bodies with different styles during battle scratched her head and realized belatedly that something appeared to be off about herself.

"Um, let's order—no, let's review the battle."

Luo Lin changed the subject and began to analyze the battle for Raiden Mei.

Although the girl with blue-purple long hair didn't perform as if she had become possessed by a god and slaughtered them all in one go, the intense battle did help Mei quickly become familiar with the techniques of the Herrscher of Thunder.

But to use these skills more refinedly and freely, Raiden Mei still had a long way to go.

Following that, Luo Lin used the body of the Herrscher of Thunder to mold Titans out of lightning and explained to Raiden Mei the attack methods and weaknesses of these enemies.

"Do you understand?"

"I roughly understand... but, my mind is still quite confused now, so I probably didn't remember much."

"Don't worry, don't force yourself to remember everything at once. We have plenty of time to practice—how about we go again? See if you can do better now?"

The girl didn't hesitate for too long and said, "Then let's go!"

Raiden Mei took a deep breath and once again stepped towards the reappearing blue pillar.

This time, the girl with blue-purple long hair performed much better than before. She once again closed the distance between herself and the long-range Titans, starting with their weak points and effortlessly dismantling and destroying the first Titan.

Then, Mei chose a more aggressive approach, enduring several missiles with the Honkai Energy Shield and quickly dealing with the second long-range Titan, seemingly hoping to reduce the number of enemies on the field as soon as possible.

After all, the Herrscher's physique was powerful, and under prepared conditions, enduring a few missiles was not a big problem at all, not affecting the battle in the least.

Luo Lin didn't comment on this choice, as exchanging injuries for death was indeed an effective strategy, something she had done many times in the Abyss.

However, Luo Lin believed that Raiden Mei could actually deal with this wave of Titans without any injuries; it's just that her skills weren't quite there yet.

While the Valkyrie was pondering, Raiden Mei had already started dealing with the last long-range Titan. She swiftly chopped off its missile launcher and then destroyed its control center with a single blow.

Amidst the fiery explosion, Mei turned her head and began dealing with the remaining melee Titans.

This time, Raiden Mei found some familiarity in the situation. These days, she had been learning similar content in the practical combat classes at St. Freya. "How to engage in close combat with several zombies."

Of course, the zombies were now replaced by more terrifying Titans, but didn't she also exchange for a strong and powerful body?

After thinking like this, Raiden Mei felt a bit more relaxed and comfortable facing the upcoming battle.

Although there was no friendly fire, the Titans couldn't launch "piercing" attacks. They crowded together, giving Mei more room to maneuver.

She effortlessly peeled off the armor of the Titans like peeling an onion, one after another becoming skeletons, with the ground littered with fragments of armor shimmering with black-red lightning.

Finally, Raiden Mei found an opportunity. She retreated quickly, raised her katana sideways, and released the accumulated "Susanoo's Frenzy"!

The "Domain of Sanction" emitted a clangorous sound, and the black-red lightning enveloped the Titans, as if traces of slashes from another dimension tore through the mechs completely, leaving behind a series of exploding sparks on the ground.

This time, the "Susanoo's Frenzy" even brought a smile of excitement to Raiden Mei's face, giving her a sense of satisfaction after hard work and success.

And in the moment when the enemies were all wiped out, Luo Lin keenly sensed a change in Raiden Mei:

By relying on the "Emotional Diffusion" skill multiple times, Luo Lin, who could clearly sense what "emotions" meant, saw a tiny, almost insignificant, but very obvious "malice" emanating from Raiden Mei, dissipating into the air.

Raiden Mei felt a surge of energy, feeling slightly relieved.

"What is this—?!"

Before Luo Lin could finish her astonishment, the second wave of enemies descended from the sky. These were the Schicksal Mechs, mechanical units completely different from the Anti-Entropy Titans in their development direction.

A high-pressure challenge was never something that ended with just one wave of enemies!

Raiden Mei looked at those gorgeously shaped robots, unlike the clumsy ones before, and shouted loudly, "Senior Luo Lin, what do we do next?!"

"Just fight as many as you can!"
