I’m Not That Obsessive

Chapter 84

Chapter 84

“Okay, Inbeom. I didn’t particularly dislike you. But it’s a bit vague to say I liked you.”

The time I knew Yoon Inbeom in Korea was only about a week. Unless someone is a complete jerk, it’s not enough time to conclude whether you like or dislike them.

We got to know each other right before I started my acting career in earnest. We just had a few drinking sessions because we communicated well and got along.

I’ve forgotten most of that time. The only thing I remember is drinking heavily at his place the day before he left for America.

Ah, I can’t really call that a memory.

I blacked out from drinking too much.

Anyway, that was the short connection between Yoon Inbeom and me. No matter how much I search my memory, I don’t think I was particularly affectionate towards him, so why are his memories so distorted?

“Inbeom, you know why I came to America, right?”

“…Because of various incidents in Korea, something like that?”

“Yeah. You know well.”

I glanced around. Even though it was a secluded place without anyone around, I felt a bit uneasy talking about my personal circumstances in the middle of the road.

“So I don’t trust people. I didn’t trust much originally, but I trust even less now. To be honest, we weren’t that close, were we? We just had a few drinking sessions together. But recently, you’ve been pushing too much. I find that burdensome.”

“Is it because I like men? You said you didn’t mind if I liked men, that we could still be close?”

“Huh? You were gay?”

“……”

Seeing as I didn’t remember at all, it must have been a conversation from that last night of heavy drinking. Feeling a bit sorry, I waved my hands frantically.

“Ah, ah! I remember now. Now I remember. Haha, I know, I know. I was joking. Joking. How could I forget that?”

Am I really an actor? Why am I so awkward?

“And what’s wrong with being gay? Of course, I don’t mind.”

“…I like women too.”

“Uh… oh! I know. I know! I know everything.”

“Then, what’s the reason? Why do you keep pushing me away?”

“It’s not about your orientation, it’s that you keep coming without notice… Ah…”

I suddenly remembered why I disliked Yoon Inbeom.

“Why did you throw away the soup when you came to our house that time? Mitchell made that in his spare time!”

I remembered something I had forgotten. I thought I disliked him for no reason, but there was a clear reason.

“I threw it away so you’d eat the porridge I bought. What’s soup for a sick person? Koreans should eat porridge.”

“Wow, shit. Because you did that, I almost ate what was in the sink… Ah! Nevermind, just go. I’m not uncomfortable at all staying at Mitchell’s house, so please go. I’m going to live here forever.”

“Forever?”

“Yes, forever.”

“Shouldn’t you consider Mitchell’s opinion too?”

I just laughed.

‘It’s 100% Mitchell’s opinion, you idiot!’

I was about to brag like that but closed my mouth, not wanting to talk about Mitchell in detail to Yoon Inbeom.

“Geon-woo. I’m saying this in case you don’t know, but I have a lot of money. I can give it all to you.”

“Pfft-“

I burst out laughing.

“Hey, I have a lot of money too. I’m overflowing with money.”

“I don’t think so? I probably have more? Maybe even more than Mitchell.”

Continuing to talk with this guy seemed to be making me childish too. I don’t think I used to be this thoughtless, I wonder why I’ve changed like this.

“Inbeom. Money isn’t important right now.”

“Then why are you sticking only to Mitchell?”

“Because we’re close, because he’s much more comfortable than you.”

“Is it because it’s big? It seemed incredibly big…”

“What?”

I genuinely didn’t understand. The land is big? The house is big? Without realizing it, I leaned forward towards Yoon Inbeom and blinked. Unfortunately, Yoon Inbeom didn’t resolve my curiosity.

“Maybe you… No, nevermind.”

Ah, why does this bastard stop mid-sentence? Making me curious.

I was about to press further but stopped, feeling the conversation might drag on. It was also about time for Mitchell to contact me.

“We’re done talking, right? I’m going.”

“Hey! But why don’t you answer your phone!”

I kept walking, ignoring whatever he was saying behind me. I didn’t tell him I had changed my phone number. Because he’d try to find out the new number.

It was a hundred, a thousand times better for him to think I was ignoring calls to my old number.

Fortunately, Yoon Inbeom didn’t follow me anymore. I was curious about what was happening behind me, but I absolutely didn’t look back and safely passed through the iron gate.

“Ugh, annoying bastard.”

I came back home grumbling. The food I had bought after going out was already half cold. This dragged Yoon Inbeom’s already low evaluation down to the Earth’s inner core.

“Making me unable to eat on time, he really was a bad guy after all.”

It wasn’t that it tasted bad, but my mood was ruined and I didn’t want to eat. After a few spoonfuls, I put it down, and just then, the phone rang.

“Mitchell!”

My boiling insides calmed down. Just seeing Mitchell’s name on the screen and hearing his voice made the corners of my mouth, which had been drooping, curl up into a smile.

“Why do you keep calling today? Aren’t you busy?”

– So you don’t like it?

“How could I not like it, I love it. It’s a hundred times better than texts.”

– I might have to hang up soon.

“It’s okay. I’m happy just hearing your voice now.”

– If I can’t even talk…

The clicking of a tongue somehow sounded excited, and the breathing seemed to get a bit rougher. At least, that’s how it sounded to me.

– But Geon-woo, you went out, didn’t you? I clearly told you not to go out.

It wasn’t a simple guess, but a question full of certainty. Even if I’m not the most trustworthy person, how can he be so sure I went out?

This guy, he’s going too far.

“Yeah, I went out. How did you know? As expected, you have good intuition. That’s why every movie you make is a hit.”

Hehehe. I laughed like an idiot and pleaded for him to let it slide just this once. I wished Mitchell was in front of me so I could show him my wagging tail.

– Just listen to what I say.

“But I don’t lie to you, right?”

– That’s something to be proud of?

“I’m your pride.”

Hehehe. I couldn’t stop laughing today. Just me, of course.

This call ended even shorter than before. I thought I’d get scolded for being caught going out, but fortunately, I didn’t hear much.

I felt a bit disappointed that Mitchell didn’t ask what I did outside. I concluded on my own that maybe he was too busy.

I was planning to tell him in detail when he came back, but that day Mitchell came home after 2 AM. And he left before 7 AM.

The more serious fact was that my underwear was still on. My stuffy underwear was wrapping my body. My treasure that should always be exposed in front of Mitchell! He hadn’t touched me.

Our normal routine was broken.

This was quite a serious problem.

***

I’m not good at tailing someone or secretly plotting behind their back. But just because I’m not good at it doesn’t mean I don’t do it. When necessary, I manage to do it somehow.

Yes. I’m currently tailing Mitchell.

It was because Mitchell suddenly started doing things he didn’t usually do. I understand he’s busy with filming, but shouldn’t he spend the rest of his time with me?

Yesterday, half of Mitchell’s day was completely gone. According to Jack, filming definitely ended at 2 PM.

Because Mitchell left alone in his car, he didn’t know where he went. But Mitchell only came home late in the evening. When asked where he had been, he gave an answer that couldn’t be faulted.

“I met a friend.”

While I’m a loner with almost no acquaintances, Mitchell isn’t. Even before becoming close to me, Mitchell was someone who partied with countless people every other day. How extensive would a mega-star’s network be? It was natural for him to have many friends.

Come to think of it, while becoming close with me, some of Mitchell’s interpersonal relationships were cut off. Whether intended or not, it was an undeniable fact.

Even though I felt like a criminal with an overwhelming sense of guilt, I still came out to tail him.

I couldn’t stand wondering who Mitchell was meeting. I just wanted to confirm their face. My goal for today was just to see what kind of bas… what kind of friend it was.

The best-case scenario would be Mitchell going straight home after filming, but unfortunately, the top priority action crumbled 30 minutes ago.

As soon as filming ended, Mitchell drove his car in the opposite direction of home. I, who was staking out near Mitchell’s car, carefully followed as soon as his car moved.

I almost lost him trying to keep a distance to avoid being caught, but fortunately, the filming location wasn’t too far from Mitchell’s destination. The heart-pounding chase ended quickly.

The place Mitchell arrived at was someone’s home. I tried to get hints about the homeowner by wandering around, but it wasn’t easy.

Meanwhile, Mitchell was still sending me messages every hour like clockwork.

[Did you eat?]

[What are you doing?]

[Coming soon]

I looked at my phone with a frustrated expression. Now that I think about it, Mitchell wasn’t the type to send long messages even when not filming.

Just as I was hesitating whether to give up and leave, Mitchell came out of the mysterious house. It had been almost 3 hours since he went in.

Behind Mitchell coming out of the front door, a man followed. Only then did I see the face of the man who came out to see him off.

“Fuck.”

I cursed sincerely. Wasn’t that some Asian guy smiling at him?

I couldn’t tell if he was Korean or Japanese, but annoyingly, he was quite handsome.
