I’m the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 1326: Arriving Home

When Yuga returned home after spending many days away, he discovered that Ninetales was also at home.

"You're back already? Is your movie finished?" Yuga asked with a look of surprise.

Ninetales, perched elegantly on a chair and admiring itself in a floating mirror it controlled with psychic power, replied without even glancing up, "Not yet. I just came back for a couple of days to rest."

"Oh~" Yuga acknowledged casually and didn't ask further. Instead, he inquired about Audino's whereabouts and headed off to find it.

Before leaving for Johto, Yuga had already sent back the Tyranitar family, Bulbasaur, and the Pokémon gifted by the Joy family. He wanted to check on how they were doing.

When Yuga found Audino, it was busy tidying up his room. Upon seeing him return, Audino immediately stopped what it was doing and ran over joyfully.

Having not seen Audino for many days, Yuga was also delighted to reunite. Smiling, he asked, "How are the Pokémon I sent back? Are they behaving?"

"Audino~ Audino~"

Don't worry, everything's fine.

Audino grabbed Yuga by the hand and led him toward the Ecopark, speaking mysteriously about a surprise waiting for him.

A surprise? Could it be a special occasion today?

With his curiosity piqued, Yuga allowed himself to be led into the Ecopark by Audino. As soon as they entered, a Vivillon flew toward them, accompanied by its partner, Volcarona.

The moment Yuga saw Vivillon, he noticed something unusual. Its aura, still not entirely restrained, felt significantly more powerful than before.

...

[ Vivillon ]

Type: Bug, Flying

Gender: Female

Abilities: Compound Eyes, Shield Dust

Potential: Purple

Level: 81

Moves: Protect, Stun Spore, Gust, Psybeam, Electroweb, Safeguard, Bug Buzz, Quiver Dance, Hurricane, Calm Mind, Light Screen, Supersonic, Sleep Powder, Psychic, Struggle Bug, Powder, Rage Powder, U-turn, Roost, Solar Beam, Wild Charge, Infestation, Signal Beam.

...

After using his keen eye to check Vivillon's stats, Yuga exclaimed in delight, "Vivillon, you've broken through!"

"Vivillon~ Vivillon~"

Vivillon fluttered its wings joyfully, flying excitedly around Yuga's head and sharing its happiness about the breakthrough.

With this, all the Pokémon in Yuga's main team had finally reached Champion level. It was truly a cause for celebration!

"Is this the surprise you were talking about?" Yuga asked Audino.

"Audino~"

Yes, are you happy?

Audino had originally planned to keep it a secret for a little longer, but Vivillon couldn't contain its excitement and flew out immediately. It just couldn't keep calm!

"Very happy, very happy! We'll have a proper celebration later!" Yuga said to Audino with a broad grin. Then, turning to Volcarona, he added, "You've made great progress too, Volcarona. Well done!"

Although Volcarona's potential wasn't as high as Vivillon's and it lacked the blessings of legendary Pokémon, it had made noticeable progress after following the training regimen suggested by Ninetales. Its aura had grown significantly stronger.

For such progress in a short time, Yuga thought Volcarona was already impressive.

Embarrassed by the praise, Volcarona couldn't help but feel inferior when compared to its wife, Vivillon.

With the number of powerful Pokémon in the Ecopark growing, Volcarona realized that it was increasingly outmatched and needed to work even harder!

"Vivillon~ Vivillon~"

By the way, where are Florges and Chimecho?

After chatting for a while, Vivillon suddenly asked Yuga about Florges and Chimecho. Now that it had broken through, it simply had to share its joy with its close friends.

"Oh, just a moment."

Yuga knew how close the three were and immediately brought out Florges and Chimecho's Poké Balls to release them.

Chimecho, being more sensitive, immediately noticed the change in Vivillon's aura the moment it was released. It blurted out.

"Chimecho~"

You've finally broken through!

Vivillon, who had been ready to boast about its breakthrough, suddenly felt a little uncomfortable hearing this comment.

What's that supposed to mean? Are you looking down on me because you broke through earlier than me?

Previously, Vivillon had been quite sensitive about its delay in breaking through, so it couldn't help but overthink things sometimes.

"Florges~"

Let's go back and chat. It's been ages since we caught up, and I've really missed you.

Seeing Vivillon getting upset, Florges quickly extended two vine whips, grabbing her two friends on either side and pulling them toward the Flower Sea Sub-Ecopark's entrance. As she walked, she threw Yuga a knowing glance.

Yuga could only smile wryly at the scene. Was this what they called "plastic sisterhood"? One wrong word, and it was an argument waiting to happen!

After the trio of flower sea sisters left, Yuga turned to Audino and said, "Let's go check on Tyranitar and its family first."

Volcarona, seeing its wife fly off with her friends, had no choice but to return alone to the Volcano Sub-Ecopark.

In the Mine Sub-Ecopark subzone, Tyranitar and its family had taken over a corner of the mines. They lounged comfortably in a gully, chatting while munching on delicious minerals.

At first, they were worried about adapting to their new environment after being transferred here. But after moving in, there were only two words to describe their feelings.

Absolutely delightful!

Life here was simply too wonderful. They didn't have to worry about going hungry, nor about sudden attacks. When bored, they could chat or spar with the neighbors.

It was practically paradise.

Yuga's Mine Sub-Ecopark already had two ethnic groups, Tyranitar and Aggron clans, and their relationship could hardly be described as harmonious. Both of them were hot-tempered and frequently clashed.

However, with the arrival of these two "bosses," they found that their constant bickering tiresome and directly suppressed both groups with force. Now, the two clans got along surprisingly well.

The arrival of Tyranitar's family was a welcome change for the Magnemite and Metagross clans living in the area.

They had long been annoyed by the constant skirmishes between Tyranitar and Aggron clans. These battles often inadvertently injured younger members of other groups, making life rather unstable for everyone.

If it were just one-on-one sparring, that might have been tolerable, but full-blown group fights? Who could put up with that?

Now, with the bosses keeping them in line, the entire mining subzone had calmed down.

This goes to show that every group needs a strong leader.

Tyranitar's family didn't affect the Onix clan much, as they had Steelix leading them. They were well-behaved and focused on training.

The only occasional disturbance came from Aggron, who liked to spar with Steelix from time to time.

Although Steelix's level wasn't as high as Aggron's, being a variant Pokémon with an enormous body gave it exceptional attack and defense. When Aggron intentionally held back a bit, their battles were surprisingly well-matched.

Because of this, these two Steel-type Pokémon have developed an excellent relationship.

The arrival of Tyranitar and Aggron, the two big shots in the Mine Sub-Ecopark, also had an impact on Rhyperior.

After witnessing a sparring session between Aggron and Steelix, Rhyperior returned home trembling with fear, feeling that its status on the mountain had dropped by another two levels. This realization only reinforced its determination to train the younger generation of its group.

The next day, it brought Excadrill to visit Aggron, hoping Aggron could mentor Excadrill.

Initially, Rhyperior assumed that a Pokémon like Aggron would be difficult to get along with. To its surprise, Aggron immediately agreed after seeing Excadrill. Aggron was so agreeable and kind that Rhyperior almost didn't recognize it as the same Pokémon it had known.

The Aggron it knew wasn't like this at all.

In truth, Aggron's reasoning was straightforward. Its current life was so wonderful that it felt a need to repay Yuga, who had provided such an idyllic environment for its family. After all, it couldn't just keep freeloading without contributing.

All the Pokémon here belonged to Yuga, so helping to train one was also a way to assist him.

One has to admit, Aggron had a high level of awareness. If Yuga knew about its mindset, he'd probably shower it with praise.

Initially, Aggron mentored Excadrill purely out of gratitude. However, Excadrill's talent turned out to be exceptional, which sparked a genuine appreciation for its potential. As a result, Aggron became even more dedicated to its training.

With a Champion level Pokémon as its mentor, Excadrill's strength grew remarkably day by day.

Seeing Excadrill getting stronger each day, Rhyperior felt increasingly optimistic about the future. It believed the day it could stand out in the Ecopark was not far away.

When Yuga arrived at the Mine Sub-Ecopark, he saw the Tyranitar couple casually crunching on minerals. Speechless, he asked, "Just you two? Where's Larvitar?"

"Tyranitar~"

Tyranitar replied, revealing that Larvitar had gone to the Grassland Sub-Ecopark to play with its friend, Bulbasaur.

After chatting with the couple for a while and briefly understanding how they were adapting to their new life, Yuga headed to the Grassland Sub-Ecopark with Audino.

When Yuga transferred Bulbasaur back, he had told Audino to assign it to the herb field, but he wasn't sure if the little guy was capable of handling the task.

When Yuga arrived at the herb field, he happened to see Bulbasaur directing two Lotad to water the field using Water Gun. The way it waved its little vine whip looked surprisingly professional.

Before the Lotad began watering, Bulbasaur patted its companion Larvitar beside it. Larvitar then bent over and started loosening the soil and weeding around the herbs, looking quite industrious.

In recent years, YoYo Day Care's demand for medical herbs had significantly increased, so the area of the herb field in the Grassland Sub-Ecopark had been continually expanding. Besides rare medical herbs like Revival Herb, vast amounts of common medical herbs were also planted here.

Additionally, less common medical herbs like Mental Herb, White Herb, and Power Herb were also cultivated in smaller quantities.

Typically, the herb field was maintained by Swampert and Ludicolo, who lived in the central lake of the Grassland Sub-Ecopark. Every day, Grass-type Pokémon from the Flower Sea Sub-Ecopark were also designated to cast Grassy Terrain on the herb field, which ensured excellent growth for the plants.

Today, the Swamperts and Ludicolos were absent, leaving only Bulbasaur and Lotads busy in the herb field.

These Lotads were the offspring of the Ludicolos, but who would have thought they'd now become Bulbasaur's little followers?

After the Lotads finished watering the herbs, Yuga was surprised to find Bulbasaur emitting a faint green glow. A small patch of Grassy Terrain appeared.

The Grassy Terrain wasn't very large, about the size of a round table, but under its nourishment, the herbs instantly looked much more vibrant and energized.

To Yuga's surprise, Bulbasaur had already learned Grassy Terrain! Internally, he marveled, It didn't know this move before we returned!

Florges could help certain Grass-type Pokémon awaken the skill Grassy Terrain. So, after capturing Bulbasaur, Yuga had her assist it in learning the move.

Before its teleportation back, Bulbasaur had still been unable to awaken the skill, yet now, it had unknowingly mastered it.

"Bulbasaur!" Yuga shouted from a distance.

"Bulbasaur~!"

Bulbasaur turned its head and saw Yuga. Immediately, it began trotting over on its four little legs, its footsteps making soft pattering sounds, with Larvitar following closely behind.

"Bulbasaur~ Bulbasaur~"

Bulbasaur reached Yuga and affectionately rubbed its head against Yuga's leg.

Yuga picked up Bulbasaur, giving it a little bounce in his arms, and laughed heartily, "Not bad, you've gotten heavier."

When Bulbasaur was on the Resurrection Island, it had been so small and delicate due to long-term undernourishment. After spending some time by Yuga's side and eating properly, it had indeed grown a bit.

"Bulbasaur~ Bulbasaur~"

Look, look! I'm the one taking care of all this now. Am I not amazing?

Bulbasaur struggled out of Yuga's arms and then used its vine whip to pull Yuga toward the herb field. It pointed proudly at the expansive herb field, showing off.

"Really?" Yuga asked in surprise. "That impressive?"

"Bulbasaur~"

Of course, it's true!

Bulbasaur raised its small head in exaggerated pride, looking utterly smug.

Seeing this, Yuga took out the medical herbs he had collected on Resurrection Island from his system space and said to Bulbasaur, "In that case, why don't you plant these herbs too? Let me see how well you can manage."

These herbs, preserved in the system space, were still fresh even after all this time. Piled on the ground, they made quite a sizable heap.

"Bulbasaur~ Bulbasaur~"

Leave it to me!

With that, Bulbasaur began working with Larvitar in a vacant section of the herb field to plant the herbs.

This vacant plot was newly cultivated after Bulbasaur's arrival, with Larvitar doing most of the heavy lifting while Bulbasaur simply gave orders.

Larvitar's tiny claws were impressively fast at digging, and now it was also deftly helping Bulbasaur plant the herbs.

Though the herb field wasn't particularly large, it was enough to accommodate all the herbs Yuga had brought back.

The herbs chosen for planting were ones not currently available in the ecosystem's existing herb field. Most were quite rare.

After leaving the task of planting the herbs to Bulbasaur, Yuga departed the Grassland Sub-Ecopark. While in the Main Ecopark, he happened to run into the Arcanine family returning from an outside patrol.

Suddenly, Yuga stopped Arcanine and asked, "Arcanine, would you like to go back to your hometown for a visit?"
