In Another World as a…Bus Driver?

Chapter 188: Chapter 188 - First Two Apprentices

Third person POV

And then, the next day, Russell picked up the first few copies of his textbook curriculum for new bus drivers and paid for them. The cover was hardbound and made of millboard with a bit of elaboration. This will give new drivers the idea of driving a bus and earning money from it, and Russell was happy that his efforts were worth it. Russell began to have them kept in his bookshelves and began making pamphlets for his little in-house driving school, before having them printed by James and distributed in shops and bookshops, hoping that anyone would be interested in training in that strange profession and occupation.

So, a few days later, on a sunny day in that converted classroom of his estate home, Russell began his first lesson with 2 young people. Those two people are from working-class families in Fort Right. Their names were Alvin Rayland and Wally Quelma, and both wanted to learn Russell's new and strange occupation. Previously, their requests were accepted by Russell, who had received their letters of request. Now, Alvin and Wally are sitting down on their seats in their regular clothes as regular commoners while Russell, in his bus driver's attire, looks at them as their driving instructor.

"Good morning to you two," Russell said to them, beginning their short interview before the first lesson would start.

"Good morning!" Alvin said to him brightly back.

"Morning, sir!" Wally added as well.

"Everyone, my name is Russell May," responded Russell back brightly like a teacher, "and I am a bus driver, and I'll be your driving instructor for your entire course to be bus drivers, starting as apprentices."

 "Oh, okay…" Alvin responded back.

"Wow, we'll be like him!" Wally said to his seatmate.

"Okay, let's start with yourselves," Russell responded back positively. "What are your names?"

"My name is Alvin Rayland," Alvin responded back with positive, non-boasting pride while standing up for a few moments, "I am 15 years old, a sophomore in the academy, and was from a working-class family."

Wally did the same thing as Alvin. "And my name is Wally Quelma, and I am 16 years old, a sophomore in Fort Right's Inner District Academy, and was from a regular family of craftspeople."

"Okay, nice to meet you, Alvin, Wally," Russell responded positively, "so, tell me, why did you choose this kind of work?"

"Because…" Alvin replied, "For me, this new job was a new thing to try, and I wanted a job that was very flexible in responsibilities and allowed me to earn money for my family while enjoying its flexibility."

"For me, Russell-san," added Wally back, "you had inspired me to take this kind of job. You're so cool with your good deeds as a bus driver, especially against Batela."

"Oh?" Russell chuckled a bit positively. "You think so?"

"Yes." Wally nodded positively. "I'll do my best to study this new job while being a student in our academy in the Inner District."

"Me too as well!" Alvin added.

Masha went to the room through the open door carrying a tray of cups of hot tea for them.
