Chapter 193: Chapter 193 - Stopping the Wedding
Third person POV
So, with their hard mission in mind, Russell and his group hopped onto his bus and drove off to Batela via a corridor north from the border with the Southern Plains. Along the way while speeding up their travel time by cautiously increasing the speed of his bus, Russell asked Navigacion, "Navigacion, there will be a forced wedding in Batela. Where we need to go?"
Navigacion then processed his request and replied back, "There will be a royal wedding to be scheduled at 11 o'clock at Batela's Cathedral of the Sacred Crow Feather in its capital city, Queva City within Batela's Central Capital Region."
Russell was stunned to see that Navigacion had answered his request like some highly advanced artificial intelligence. "Woah, okay, thanks. Now, reroute to that place, please."
"Yes."
It then accepted it, processed it a bit, and responded with the following:
Cathedral of the Sacred Crow Feather, Queva City, Central Capital Region, Batela
Approximately 61 kilometers away from the current location
Estimated Travel Time at this current speed: 56 minutes
Road conditions: Very Good
Traffic: Very Smooth
Weather: Sunny
The others onboard were amazed, while Azalea and Nathan were positive brightly for the bus's smart system. "Okay…" Russell replied back, "…what should I do with any barriers like wall gates?"
"Ram them."
"Wow, you're smarter than I thought."
"Of course, Russell May, my system's artificial intelligence had been updated and fully equipped with everything, including accurate predictions based on current events."
"Oh…that makes sense."
At the same time, being coerced by Aren to marry him, Elai was in a room for the bride in a building separate from the Cathedral of the Sacred Crow Feather, a big cathedral and crown jewel of Queva City, preparing for the upcoming wedding. She had no choice; her family would be in danger if she didn't do it. she needed to do it and risk everything to make sure that her family was safe and sound.
Meanwhile, at just one-third of the estimated travel time, Russell and his group are nearing the border of Batela through its eastern border gate. Russell sped up gradually straight towards the closed gate. The guards tried to stop the speeding vehicles but instead got out of the way upon being nearly run over by Russell's bus. Russell rammed through the steel gate, breaking it, and headed straight towards Queva City. His group onboard was taken aback and held on their seats when the bus went through the gate straight without stopping. The city of Queva was just 10 kilometers away from the eastern border gate, so all of them just continued their journey towards it fast while hoping that everything was not too late yet.
Meanwhile, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Crow Feather in Queva City, Elai is now walking down the aisle of the cathedral building as Aren, dressed in his royal tuxedo, watched her with a positive look on his face, but his inner self smirked on the inside. Most of the guests in the cathedral hall were Batela's high nobles and aristocrats, who were forced to attend the royal wedding for Aren's vanity and grandeur. Arius was there next to Aren's advisors. As she walked down the aisle holding a bouquet of white and black roses, Elai made a positive smile to please the wedding's faces while being dreadful secretly on the inside.
At the same time by now, Russell and his group are now nearing Queva City. And then, Russell rammed straight through the city's eastern gate, causing the guards to get out of the way before they were rammed by his bus. The group broke through the gate and was now inside Queva City's urban fortified city center. The cathedral was just a few kilometers away.
And then, Russell and his group managed to arrive at the front yard of the Cathedral and stopped at its front pavements after managing to break through its Victorian-style front gates. The front gate guards did the same thing as the other guards did at the eastern gates of the capital and the eastern border of Batela, getting out of the way to prevent being hit by Russell's bus. Upon getting off the bus, Russell and his group wielded their weapons and magic just in case anyone would attack them.
"Nathan, come with me," Russell said to Nathan directly.
Then to the others. "Guys, stay here just in case anyone would attack you guys."
Nathan agreed, and the others did so.
And so, with that, Russell and Nathan went into the Cathedral's front door. Inside the Cathedral, the priest who commenced the wedding under Aren's arrowing orders was in his party telling Elai and Aren to say their vows and do the sealing kiss when Russell kicked the door open. This caught everyone's attention in the grand cathedral hall. Aren was shocked to see him barging into the wedding so suddenly while Elai was surprised at his sudden presence.
"Stop the wedding!" Russell shouted at them strongly and in demand.
Nathan then came in time as well and looked at the interrupted atmosphere of the place.
