Chapter 29: Chapter 29 – Searching and convincing the twin dragon girls
Third person POV
"How did you possibly do that?" the Silver Dragon asked Russell directly.
Russell had no idea how to answer that question, so he just responded, "I don't know. It came out all of a sudden and... just happened, that's all."
His party also has no idea how their party leader did that high-ranked Lightning magic.
But anyway, the Silver dragon decided that Russell and his party had won the match with her. "Okay, you mortals won this match. You may go now and search for my twin girls. You only have until this afternoon, when the sun sets on the horizon."
The May Party then accepted it and left her presence, walking back to town.
Later, as they are walking together in town, Russell can't help but wonder how he did that magic. His party also wondered that as well. Also, at the same time, the royal spies, who had managed to track Russell's bus from Leafmight all the way here in Kapeton, are now in town searching for them, but the May party didn't know that yet.
And then, all of them started searching for the Silver dragon's twin daughters in the entire town under the warm sun. They based their description on the dragon's description of them, and they hoped they would find them before the afternoon sun would set later. The search took a few hours, with the party asking passersby if they had seen those girls. But the majority of them said no and shook their heads, and the May party understood their responses and just kept on searching and searching.
But then, by 11:45 a.m., they are about to stop at a tavern for a noonday lunch break when Rai and Ria come and meet up with them. "Oh, it's you guys from yesterday," one of them said. Upon hearing that, the May party looked at them, and Russell asked them, "Hello, it's you two from Micah-san's coffee processing plant. Can I have a second with you two?"
"Sure!" Ria responded happily. "What is it?"
"Are you two Rai and Ria, right?" Adrian asked.
"Yes, we are," Rai replied back, "our boss told you that yesterday, right?"
"Yes, he did," Azalea responded.
"We have something to tell you two," Russell added. "Come and have lunch with us."
The May party then entered the tavern, and Rai and Ria did so.
A bit later, as they are having a light meal, Russell reveals to the twin dragon girls about their mother and her regular rampages across town. Hearing all that, Rai and Ria were surprised but remained calm and weren't shocked at it. The May party was stunned to see they didn't get the memo of what their mother was doing to the town.
"But she was worried about you two," Azalea replied in persuasion. "You must go back to her forest home before she attacks this afternoon at sundown."
"Huh? Really?" Rai replied back, not understanding what was going on.
Reading her expression, Russell was dumbfounded. "Come on, do you have any idea that what you and Ria-chan had been doing was attracting chaos and destruction to this town?"
Because of Russell's persuasive question, Rai and Ria finally gave up, and it was just straight-up revealing to them why they had left their forest home and lived in the town. According to them, they were tired and bored of their simple and primitive life in the forest with their mother, so one evening, they secretly snuck out and went to the town to live like humans and even try to get a job that humans do. After that revelation, Russell and his party were surprised to hear all that and were stunned at their bravery and incentive to do that.
"Woah…"
"All just because you two are bored of your forest, primitive life?"
Ria then nodded. "Yes, we didn't know that what we are doing was causing trouble in this town."
Rai also felt bad as well.
So, both of them bowed their heads towards the party in apology. "We're so sorry!"
Russell and his party understood that and forgave them.
Hearing their forgiveness, the twins raised their heads and looked at them.
"Wait, you forgave us?" Ria asked.
Russell then smiled. "Yes, as long as you two reflect on your actions and ask us for forgiveness."
His party then nodded to support his statement.
Because of Russell's kindness, the twin dragon girls were happy and promised to return to their forest home so their mother, the Silver dragon, would stop attacking the town they cherished and loved.
The May party were happy to hear that, and they even offered to accompany them on their trek to their forest home.
The two girls accepted it wholeheartedly, before they and the May party resumed eating their meal in the tavern.
