In Another World as a…Bus Driver?

Chapter 34: Chapter 34 – A lot of potatoes and vegetables

Third person POV

After that, Russell opened the door and turned off his bus's engine. "Alright, guys, let's go," he said to them, before standing up and grabbing his knapsack and reference materials from the dashboard. John then woke up from his short nap and stood up, yawning. "Okay…whatever you say, master."

The small Dark wolf puppy then left its compartment home, and the rest of their group grabbed their belongings and stood up from their seats, too.

With that, Russell got off the bus, and John went second.

The others then went to the front and got off, setting foot in the town. Azalea, Rai, and Adrian took a deep breath to take in the fresh air of their surroundings and exhaled in how fresh the air was. Russell then carried John in his arms while Kelly and Ria gazed at the view of the town's landscape around them. "Wow, this town looks so nice," Rai commented on how happy she was to be in that place.

Russell then nodded positively upon hearing that.

"Man, I'm so excited to go around and see what this place has!" Adrian added a comment while being enthusiastic.

He knew that he didn't have any quests that were suitable for him as a D-ranked adventurer.

So, he decided to do stuff with his new party to pass the time.

"Yup, let's go around and explore, shall we?" Russell asked him and the others.

His group then agreed with him.

And so, all of them left the secluded area and through the town's compact urban area. As they walked together, the group gazed at the town's food marketplace and not long after, the farmhouses and their vast crop fields where potatoes, vegetables, and other root-based crops were grown. But the vast majority of the crops being grown in that rural town are potatoes and other root-based crops like sweet potato. Along the way, the group walked through the town's crop fields and gazed at the vast vegetables being planted, grown, taken care of, and harvested by farmers, who comprised two-thirds of the town's total population.

Some farmers are planting seeds and replanting most while others harvest the fully grown ones in droves. This keeps the agricultural sector rolling every day, and in doing so, the business sector would keep on rolling in its business function and role in the town. Farmers worked from morning to sundown tending to their fields, harvesting their crops, and selling most of them to the town's marketplace dedicated mostly for food.

Also, along the way, the group received free samples of newly harvested potatoes, sweet potatoes, and other root-based crops, as well as some cobs of corn and turnips, from farmers, who have a habit of giving out small numbers of their ready-to-sell crops to tourists for free. They did so to promote their town and its sizable role in the kingdom's food production. Russell and his accepted their offers out of kindness, thinking about making various dishes out of them. Azalea can cook so it is possible.

But, meanwhile, a threat by a mysterious organization was now coming to town to wreak havoc there. What chaos it will bring to the town? And also, what is their reason and motive for doing that?
