Chapter 66: Chapter 65 (Bonus)

Kanzai walked over, speaking directly, "Are you that impressive newcomer who stood out in the first round?"

"You mean to say 'troublesome,' right?" Morin chuckled. "Am I that famous? Even you guys know about me?"

"More or less the same thing." Kanzai scratched his head, laughing awkwardly. "I can tell you're strong. How about it? Want to have a match?!" His face lit up with eagerness.

"Is it really appropriate for an examiner to fight a candidate?" Morin asked with a grin.

"No worries, it's just a spar," Kanzai smirked. "It's not serious—just a little test of physical skills." He glanced sideways at Tonpa, implying he had no intention of using Nen abilities. With Tonpa there, mentioning Nen was out of the question. And besides, he wasn't planning to use it.

Even Kurapika had suffered due to Nen in the past, so Kanzai wasn't about to make the same mistake.

Although Kanzai was straightforward and hot-tempered, he wasn't a fool.

"You just want to test your hand-to-hand skills?" Morin's smile turned mischievous. "I wouldn't mind sparring, but I need to know your level first. If you're too weak, I won't bother."

"Huh?" Feeling insulted, Kanzai raised an eyebrow, his tone deepening. "What level are you looking for?"

"At the very least," Morin said casually, "you should be able to knock him down." He pointed at someone.

Tonpa, who had been silently watching, suddenly realized Morin was pointing at him. "You're kidding, right?!"

Kanzai glanced at Tonpa's now beady-eyed expression and nearly burst out laughing. "I don't have time to joke around!"

By the end of his sentence, Kanzai's tone had grown sharper, clearly annoyed at being toyed with.

"What's wrong? Are you afraid?" Morin's playful smile didn't falter. "Or are you worried that losing to a candidate would damage your pride?"

"Amateur provocation," Kanzai replied bluntly, staring Morin down. "But fine, I'll humor you. I want to see what makes you think this pudgy loser is anywhere close to me." He turned to Tonpa, whose face had gone pale.

"Come on then," Kanzai sneered, his eyes narrowing. "You've been taking the exam for years and failing every time. You must have some skill to survive twenty-plus attempts."

"W-Wait!" Tonpa was drenched in sweat and frantically waved his hands. "I can't do it!"

"Stop wasting time!" Kanzai growled impatiently. "Hurry up!"

He was already in a battle stance, fists clenched.

"I… I…" Tonpa stammered, his eyes darting toward Morin, silently begging for help.

Morin didn't respond verbally. Instead, he casually tossed something to Tonpa.

"Put this on and fight him," Morin said, sitting back down calmly. "You've got decent willpower, right?"

"Huh? Uh…" Tonpa fumbled to catch the object, instinctively nodding.

After enduring over twenty Hunter Exams, Tonpa's willpower might not be unbreakable, but it was pretty solid.

"Good." Morin nodded and didn't say more. He leisurely pulled out a glass of fresh juice from his pocket and took a sip, looking entirely relaxed.

Seeing Morin's calm demeanor made Kanzai grind his teeth in frustration, his irritation rising.

"When I beat this pudgy idiot, I'm going to teach that smug kid a lesson!" Kanzai fumed, glaring at Tonpa with newfound intensity.

At the same time, he noticed the item Morin had tossed to Tonpa: a pair of red gloves. They looked like ordinary boxing gloves.

"Are those… gloves?" Kanzai muttered, his curiosity tinged with suspicion.

Kanzai had heard from Kurapika that Morin often carried strange and unpredictable tools. It wasn't hard to guess these gloves might be another one of those.

"Alright, let's begin!" Morin, now acting as the referee, gave the signal.

Despite his earlier enthusiasm, Kanzai hesitated to attack, remaining cautious. Tonpa, meanwhile, stayed perfectly still—his usual strategy of not making the first move.

For several minutes, the two simply stared at each other.

Finally, growing impatient, Kanzai lunged when he saw Tonpa let his guard down. He sprang forward with a tiger-like pounce, claws outstretched.

The sudden move startled Tonpa. He tried to roll away, but Kanzai's speed was too much—he was upon him in an instant.

"It's over—I'm going to get pummeled!" Tonpa despaired internally, bracing for impact.

But just as Kanzai's claws came close, Tonpa's hands moved instinctively.

BAM!

Tonpa's glove-clad fist met Kanzai's strike head-on. Both fighters froze in shock.

Kanzai: "Why does his punch feel as strong as mine?!"

Tonpa: "When did I get this much strength?! How did I block that?!"

For a moment, the two stared at each other, wide-eyed and dumbfounded. Then they both turned their gazes toward the gloves.

"Is it the gloves?" they thought simultaneously, glancing at Morin.

"What are you looking at me for?" Morin gestured politely. "Keep going."

Item: Unbeatable Boxing Gloves (aka Fair Fight Gloves)

Effect: These gloves make any fight perfectly fair. No matter how strong the opponent is, the wearer's physical abilities will match theirs. Victory depends solely on determination and willpower.

Thanks to the gloves and Tonpa's solid willpower, Kanzai couldn't overwhelm him. Although Tonpa wasn't guaranteed to win, he could hold his ground for a long time.

"What kind of nonsense is this?!" Kanzai's mouth twitched. "They're just gloves!"

Despite his grumbling, Kanzai quickly pieced it together: the gloves either reflected his own strength back at him or boosted Tonpa's strength to match his. Morin's earlier comment about willpower solidified this theory.

"Not interested anymore," Kanzai said, retracting his stance. "I'm not one of those hot-blooded fools who relies on willpower to win."

Seeing Kanzai back off, Tonpa breathed a sigh of relief. He quickly took off the gloves and handed them back to Morin.

"Still want to fight?" Morin asked, putting the gloves away.

"What's the point?" Kanzai shrugged, frustrated. "With those gloves, it's impossible to have a proper match."

Despite his irritation, Kanzai's curiosity soon took over. "You've got some crazy tools, huh? Got anything else fun to show me?"

"Fun stuff?" Morin gave him an odd look. Kanzai really was a straightforward guy—whatever he thought, he said.

Realizing he might have overstepped, Kanzai quickly apologized. "Sorry, that was rude of me. I get it—these tools are your secrets."

"It's fine." Morin waved it off. "Actually, I was about to use another tool to get to the third testing site."

He clapped his hands, and in an instant, a massive black cannon appeared out of nowhere.

"What is this?!" Kanzai exclaimed, wide-eyed.

"This," Morin said as he fiddled with a monitor attached to the cannon, "is the Anywhere Cannon. It can send people or objects to any location displayed on this screen."

Item: Anywhere Cannon

Effect: A cannon paired with a screen. After selecting a destination on the screen, the cannon can launch people or objects there instantly. However, it has limited range and cannot send targets to other countries.

"So it fires you toward your destination?" Kanzai asked, tapping the cannon curiously.

"Exactly," Morin replied. "Now, Tonpa…" He called Tonpa over and placed a green cap on his head.

It wasn't just any cap—it looked suspiciously like a mailman's hat.

"After I fire myself, bring this cannon to where I land," Morin instructed.

"What?! I don't even know where the Arbam Mountains are!" Tonpa protested weakly. "And how am I supposed to move a cannon this big?!"

"You don't need to worry," Morin said, patting him on the shoulder with a kind smile. "The hat will guide you."

Item: Delivery Cap

Effect: Anyone wearing this cap becomes a "delivery person" and is compelled to deliver objects to their designated locations, regardless of personal intent.

Tonpa's face turned pale as he realized he had no choice. Begrudgingly, he agreed, while Kanzai, ever curious, continued peppering Morin with questions about the cap.

After a bit more banter, Kanzai struck a deal with Morin: if Morin ever needed help, Kanzai would lend a hand in exchange for a chance to "borrow" some of Morin's tools.

Before Morin left, Kanzai shared some intel about the next test examiner: Botobai, a highly skilled Terrorist Hunter aiming for three-star status.

"He's a strict and famous examiner," Kanzai explained. "You'd better be ready."

Hearing the name Botobai, Morin's eyes gleamed with interest. "The future Dragon of the Zodiacs,
