Chapter 3: 1.2
Hayato Shō, a young vorixa, just like me. Just on time. "Hey! Where the hell were you?" I yelled out of frustration. "Shoot it."
He calmly said.
"I'd do that without you telling me to."
The heat rose in my chest, building until I couldn't hold it back anymore. "Let's end this," I muttered.
"En Seishin...Shinenryū no Hōkō."
I thrust my hand forward, and the dragon burst out—a roaring blaze of gold and crimson fire. The air shimmered from the heat as it tore through everything in its way. "This is the roar of the divine blazing dragon."
The flames were too much to handle. My hands burned, the searing heat cutting through my skin as I forced the attack forward. I never wanted to use this power... but there was no choice. This was the only way.
The attack hit the Oscuro hard. Flames wrapped around its serpentine body, burning its dark scales. The creature hissed and thrashed, but the fire kept spreading, forcing it back. For a moment, it seemed to weaken, its form crumbling at the edges.
"Let's get this over with." Hayato said, gripping his thundering sword, ready to strike. I did my job, now it's his turn to add fuel to the fire.
"Raiden Seishin...Raigeki."
With a swift movement, he swung his sword, unleashing a powerful thundrous attack. The lightning shot out, a blinding bolt that pierced through the burning creature. The Oscuro's roar turned into a scream, its body disintegrating under the force of the strike. In a final flash of light, the giant serpent got shattered to pieces, defeated.
"That's how it's done." He looked at me and said.
"Hey! Don't act all high and mighty! If it weren't for my attack, you'd have ended up in a same state as me."
"Don't bother with all that now and get those injuries taken care of." Saying that, he left the scene in a flash. He sure is fast.
Hayato Shō is a fellow student. He is also the captain of the Kendo club. The guy never reacts, always in control, and his sword skills are insane. It's hard not to feel a bit jealous of how effortlessly he handles everything, but I can't deny the respect I have for him as a fellow Vorixa. He's the kind of guy you can trust in a fight, even if I don't quite get how he stays so calm all the time.
"Takumi-kun! Are you okay!?" Hana rushed over and asked. "Yeah...nothing serious, just my palms are all scorched. I should probably take care of them." I said, eyeing my palms.
"It looks horrible. I don't think the school infirmary is capable of healing it."
"Don't worry. I know someone who can take care of such injuries effortlessly."
"Someone from your clan?"
"Yup."
