Chapter 87: We Eat Them!
Every single one of the Hunters of the B-Rank Hunter Party except for Stella had plenty of experience with these slave collars. Before the newbie Stella arrived, they often ventured into Gates known to have 'unique' monster life and then enslaved them, played with them, or just straight up sold them off.
Humanoid monsters like Elves, semi-intelligent demihumans, and similar such beings were their targets. Some of the Party members had weird fetishes, while others simply participated in this vile act for money. Whatever the case, all of them contributed one way or another, with some, like Dominic, John, and Lexi, contributing the most. They even started competitions to see who could enslave more humanoid monsters—the more innocent they were, the better.
'Inherently, monsters with the potential to take human form are no different from little humans in their early years,' thought Cassius, his piercing eyes falling on the worms wiggling around. 'But it was from multiple studies that scientists learned humanoid monsters were influenced by their natural habitats, which are the Gates. This influence is what makes them so savage, with the more powerful humanoid monsters, like Yimin, becoming bloodthirsty for human blood almost instantly.'
'These trash knew that… and they took advantage of it.'
Cassius felt not the least bit of sympathy while glaring at the fleshbags of steaming manure hollering for their mommies.
He loudly scoffed. "Even in the face of death, they resemble garbage."
Yimin furiously nodded. She had no clue what was going on now or why her Master was killing those of his own kind, but Master was Master! If Master said something, then she would agree!
'Only this way will Master fuck Yimin! Yimin wants lots of babies!'
Cassius suddenly felt his spine tingle, prompting him to look at Yimin, only to see a mischievous grin touching upon her enchanting face. He shook his head in exasperation before hardening his gaze while looking at the bloody cripples.
"...You… Do you really plan to kill them all…?" Stella abruptly spoke up, diverting his attention to her and giving the deplorable scum a bit of hope.
Seeing as she was spared from the stupidly fast consecutive strikes of the powerful hooded man, she might just be their saving grace.
Stella, ignoring the pleading silence of her comrades in pain, locked eyes with the pair of glowing globes beneath a shrouded hood. "I don't know why you killed Dominic, beyond him attacking you two, or why you harmed my comrades, but don't you think this is a bit much…? What have they done that's so wrong?"
Cassius was a bit surprised that the victim of their bullying and oppression was siding with them. A frown marred his barely visible features.
"You are sticking up for these scum?" he asked. "Are you not aware of what they have done? The slaves, the children, the torture? Their universal crime log is not small…"
The B-Rank MoonShiners opened their eyes wide in disbelief.
"Y-You! How do you know about that??"
"Just who are you!?"
"I have no clue what you're talking about! I didn't do anything!! Those primitive elf incidents were in no way related to me!!"
"How dare you slander us!? *Cough!* *Cough!* Even if you are powerful, this is too much!!"
Cassius zoned out the clamoring of those monkeys, instead watching as Stella decided for herself what she believed the truth to be.
At first, she was dubious of his words, but after listening to him briefly recount everything they had done thus far and adding their guilty deflections into the mix, she eventually figured out the truth. Her complexion lost a lot of its sheen, and she averted her eyes from the garbage shouting at her to not believe the facts.
Yet their pleas fell on deaf ears…
"T-This… This cannot happen to me! Do you have any idea who I am!? Who my father is???" Lexi shouted, delirious. "He will have you stripped, diced up, and hanged if you so much as touch a single strand of my hair!!"
"Same here! My father is…!"
"My father is… blah, blah, blah!"
That was all Cassius heard while listening to the buffoons babble on about a whole lot of nothing. He could tell that they already gave up on Stella believing their horseshit, which resorted to them using these simpleton's tactics.
It was sad, really.
Cassius took slow, deliberately imposing steps toward the group of yapping idiots, causing them to shrink back in fright. They considered fighting him again but gave up that thought as soon as it surfaced. Even with their high Endurance stats, it would still take a while to heal injuries like this, and even if they did become as good as brand new, what difference would it make?
So, naturally, they ran.
Or, at least, they tried to.
Seven consecutive shouts echoed out as Cassius teleported between the idiots, severed their Achilles' heels, then reappeared where he was previously standing. He remained apathetic throughout.
Even while their shrieks of anguish blared out, his expression maintained its impassiveness.
Although this was his first time truly dealing with humans, excluding that incident with the guys attempting to kidnap and r*pe Aya, he kept a cool head during the entire experience. It may have felt a little novel to him, but he honestly couldn't care less about what happened to people like them.
Cassius didn't believe himself to be a hero of justice or anything like that, but there was always a bottom line. What these worms had done was just the bottom line for the current version of him.
"Get 'em, Master!" Yimin cheered while clinging to his back and leaning her bouncy breasts above his head. "Don't hold back; kill those Hoomans! And then we eat them—"
"We won't eat them," Cassius denied.
"...B-But why…?" Yimin teared up, not understanding why her Master would want to kill other Hoomans but not devour them.
Did he perhaps kill Hoomans for sport??
'Master is so cool!!' Yimin thought in admiration, yet she outwardly giggled in a creepily obsessed way.
...….
