Volume 3 Chapter 40
40. The Doctor
Dragons.
An extremely powerful species, greedy and arrogant, bloodthirsty by nature and a love for slaughtering other species for pleasure.
They are the absolute enemies of humanity.
Warriors who can defeat dragons will become heroes in the human world.
This is the knowledge that the Sword Saint’s entourage learned from childhood.
Dragon eyes are different from human eyes. They have vertical pupils, and their bodies also have other characteristics…
The Sword Saint before the entourage perfectly matched the human perception of dragons.
“You, you, you are a—!”
The entourage was so frightened that they fell to the ground, their body trembling in fear. They couldn’t believe that the human hero, the Sword Saint who defeated dragons, was actually a dragon!
“Shut up!”
The Sword Saint seemed to have lost control. He glared fiercely at the entourage. His transformed hands gripped the entourage’s neck with incredible strength, far beyond human capabilities.
As a grown man, the entourage member couldn’t put up any resistance against the Sword Saint, his legs leaving the floor as he flailed helplessly in the air.
His throat was tightly clutched, gradually constricting under the Sword Saint’s pressure.
Unable to breathe, the entourage couldn’t even cry for help, gradually suffocating until everything went dark, falling unconscious.
…
The Sword Saint opened his eyes and found himself naked from the waist up, lying on an examination table. He had already returned to his human state. It seemed someone had helped stabilize his internal condition.
He slowly sat up, holding his head, recalling what had happened before.
“What happened to me…?”
“Are you alright, Wright?”
A somewhat familiar voice called out the Sword Saint’s current name.
The Sword Saint raised his head and looked at the person observing him. “Doctor?”
“Good morning.”
A tall young woman with long black hair smiled, then took out a lollipop from her pocket, unwrapped it, and held it in front of the Sword Saint.
“Want one? It’s strawberry milk flavor.”
“No, thanks.” The Sword Saint shook his head.
“Alright then—”
The doctor put the strawberry milk lollipop in her mouth, looking somewhat pleased.
Her full name was Claire Morris, a doctor in the Alchemical Life Experiment Department of Rhine Alchemy. She was one of the important leaders of this department. The Alchemical Life Experiment Department was the most mysterious department in Rhine Alchemy… Most Rhine Alchemy staff didn’t even know of its existence.
The Alchemical Life Experiment Department held many important secrets… If these secrets were leaked to the human world, it could shake the entire human world order.
For example, right now, it was a major secret experiment that could change the future of humanity. Doctor Claire was one of the project leaders.
However, this doctor seemed to have an insatiable craving for sweets, always having candy on hand. If she ran out of candy, her mood would collapse.
“Doctor, what happened to me?” The Sword Saint asked.
“What happened?” Claire sighed. “Don’t you know what you did? In the carriage, you suddenly activated the dragon blood in your body, transformed into a dragon, and almost strangled the entourage to death. Fortunately, I felt something was off at the time and checked the situation in the carriage. I managed to calm you down in time and controlled the situation. Otherwise, things would have blown up—”
“The entourage, dead?”
“You didn’t choke him to death, but you know,” Claire shrugged. “You’re our most important project in Rhine Alchemy right now. If he found out… well, we’d have to deal with him according to the rules.”
“I see,” the Sword Saint showed a hint of regret. “Later, please help console his family. Tell them I encountered an accident on the way, and he risked his life to help me.”
“Of course, no problem. But… heheh, how hypocritical, Wright.”
The corners of Claire’s mouth curled up, her words sharp.
“Does playing the hero intoxicate you so?”
The Sword Saint didn’t mind the doctor’s words. He stood up and walked to the mirror, looking at the black-haired youth in the mirror.
His appearance was very similar to the Human Sword Saint, simulating Wright Schubert’s appearance six years from now, to the point of being indistinguishable from the real thing.
“No, I am Wright Schubert.” The Sword Saint placed his hand on the mirror, muttering to himself.
Claire narrowed her eyes. “Wright, why did you lose control in the carriage?”
“I summoned the Holy Sword for students at Laurel Academy, maybe because of that.”
“Don’t lie to me. Even if you summoned the Holy Sword, it wouldn’t cause the power in your body to go out of control,” Claire said. “You must have done something unauthorized and overstepped your boundaries. I remember you seemed to have done some strange things at Laurel Academy that scared the students there.”
“…”
The Sword Saint didn’t intend to mention that he had sensed another Sword Bearer.
Now that the human world had him as the Sword Bearer, there was no need for anyone else.
“Wright, do you still think you’re human?”
“Don’t worry, Doctor. I always keep this in mind,” the Sword Saint replied. “After all, I passed the experiment. Those failures who thought they weren’t human have all been dealt with, haven’t they?”
“That’s good. Wright, you are very important to us and even to the human world. In the future, you will be one of our hopes to defeat the dragons.” Claire reminded.
“I understand.”
The Sword Saint’s eyes were firm, deeply convinced.
“The human world needs a hero.”
…
Laurel Academy.
Xia Yi suddenly felt a quite uncomfortable chill, and shivered.
“What is this feeling? So annoying,” she muttered.
It was now the first class for the new students at Laurel Academy. This was a special public course that every new student was required to attend.
In class, Xia Yi pondered the events of the day.
She scribbled and doodled in her notebook, feeling that Rhine Alchemy and that fake Sword Saint were somehow connected, definitely something fishy.
Had the Schubert family made some deal with the Morrison family behind the scenes?
She remembered that the Four Great Families of the Rhine didn’t get along well before.
“This is the most important class for you as new students at Laurel Academy. I hope you won’t be distracted in class!” The class teacher suddenly raised his voice.
Xia Yi’s attention immediately returned to reality, and she reluctantly closed her notebook.
Oh well.
No matter what she thought, it was useless without more information.
She might as well focus on what her campus life would be like from now on.
“Everyone, take a good look. This is the most powerful dragon among the dragons, the Dragon Queen, also known as the Silver Dragon Queen, a most vicious and evil dragon!” The class teacher said solemnly.
Xia Lulu?
Xia Yi suddenly heard Xia Lulu being mentioned and was a bit surprised. She looked at the blackboard.
“Pfft!”
Seeing the content about Xia Lulu on the blackboard, Xia Yi almost couldn’t help laughing out loud!
