Is It Wrong to Abusing Cartoon Tropes in Dungeon?

Chapter 71: 71 Saber

"All of my children are very competitive. Many of them constantly strive to rise higher, but sometimes, the more anxious they get, the harder it is for them to advance. Some of them tend to get stuck in their own ways."

"Bete is one of those children who can be a bit stubborn, and it relates to his past experiences. But thanks to your help, he broke through his limits this time. Although his past still affects him, it has forcibly elevated his strength."

"So, I wanted to ask you, do you have any other methods to help enhance the strength of my other children?"

In the Hestia Familia's reception room, Altair and Hestia were sitting on one side of the sofa, while Loki and Riveria sat on the other. As for Bete, Ais, and the rest, they waited outside in the hall.

Earlier, Loki had come to discuss this with Altair. Since her children were present, she chose to talk privately with him in a quieter place.

"So, you're asking me to personally train them, one by one?"

"Exactly. Especially a few of my children who tend to get stuck in their ways. After hearing about how Bete suddenly broke his limits, single-handedly defeated the floor boss, and even leveled up, they all want to try it themselves. While it's good that they want to level up, the idea of challenging a higher-level floor boss solo is giving me a headache."

Loki wore a helpless expression. As the Head of the Loki Familia, Loki might usually appear carefree, always smiling with her eyes closed, but when it came to the care and nurturing of her children, she was no less attentive than any other gods.

"Are you so sure I can teach them, Loki-sama? You do realize, I'm just a newbie at Level 1."

"About that, Lefiya told me everything you said in the dungeon after she returned. Riveria and I discussed it carefully, and Riveria concluded that you're not as simple as you seem. You have a vast amount of knowledge stored in your head."

"Are you that certain?"

"I trust Riveria!"

'So, you're saying I look like an idiot on the surface, huh?'

After that inner comment, Altair glanced at Riveria. As expected of the strongest mage in Orario, she had the keen insight. From his explanations alone, she was able to deduce his knowledge base.

"You're right. I do possess a lot of knowledge, things that certain people from my home have mastered. They're not adventurers, nor were they part of a Familia, but they had their ways of fighting."

Indeed, all those characters from the anime and other works he had watched, Altair thought of them as the strong ones from his home. The skills they used? He could teach them, as long as they were willing to try!

"So, Altair, are you willing to share this knowledge with my children? Of course, we'll pay you appropriately."

"Deal!"

Altair stood up and extended his right hand. Loki rose from her seat and shook it.

"Well then, pleasure doing business!"

With both parties reaching a happy agreement, Loki got the answer she wanted. She left the Hestia Familia with Riveria, Bete, and Ais, who had been waiting in the hall.

After sending off Loki's group, Altair sat down with Hestia and Saeko for a family meeting. Since Saeko hadn't been present earlier, Altair explained the deal he had made with Loki.

"Altair-kun, why did you agree to help Loki?"

Hestia confused. She didn't see why they needed to help her.

"Hestia, this deal with Loki is beneficial for our Familia. It's a good thing for us."

Altair felt the need to explain things more carefully to his innocent goddess.

"Right now, Orario is in the era of two kings. Neither the Freya Familia, which rarely appears nor the Loki Familia, who focuses on dungeon expeditions, meddle much in Orario's affairs. They are more concerned with their own Familia's development. Our Familia is just starting. Even though Saeko and I can support the Familia once we grow stronger, until then, we are at a slight disadvantage compared to other Familia in Orario."

Almost every Familia in Orario had its dark secrets. Some, like the Isthar Familia, were entirely corrupt.

"I know you don't have ambitions to dominate, Hestia. You just want to live a peaceful life here in Orario, and I feel the same. But that doesn't mean other Familia won't come after us."

"So, Altair-kun, you made this deal with one of the strongest Familia, the Loki Familia, to help their members grow stronger, and in return, they will offer our Familia protection?"

Saeko quickly understood the situation and voiced her thoughts. Hestia, however, immediately objected.

"Huh? I would never accept protection from Loki! No way!"

Altair nodded in agreement with Hestia.

"We don't need protection. We have our goddess, and we'll have our team. It's just the two of us now, but we are the Hestia Familia, and we don't need anyone else's protection!"

"That's right! Altair-kun is right!"

Hestia nodded happily.

"What we need is Loki Familia's information network."

As long as it wasn't a top Familia like the Freya Familia coming after them, Altair wasn't worried. If it came to a War Games, he was confident that he could win against any other Familia, given enough resources. Worst case, he'd just bombard them with rocket launchers.

But some people preferred to play dirty, so part of his deal with Loki was that if any Familia attempted to harm the Hestia Familia, the Loki Familia would fully assist with investigations. As for the fighting, Altair would handle that himself.

"In addition, the Loki Familia will provide us with a significant amount of resources as part of the payment."

Altair raised his right hand, revealing a large chunk of silver ore in his palm.

"What's that?"

"Holydite, a rare material used to forge magic swords."

Altair remembered that the staff used by Riveria was made from this ore. It had excellent magic conductivity and was extremely tough.

"This is good stuff. Too bad you're not a mage, Saeko, or I could make you a magic staff."

"Mistsplitter is enough for me."

Ah, yes, Mistsplitter was the name of Saeko's katana, Altair had named it, a little reference for those who knew.

"You could use this ore to forge yourself a weapon. Didn't you say you wanted to take the title of Holy Sword Wielder? But the weapons you use right now don't fit that image. Why not forge yourself a Holy Sword?"

"A Holy Sword, huh..."

According to Hephaestus, Holy Swords were divine weapons that only gods could create. He probably couldn't forge something of that caliber, but he could make something interesting. His eyes lit up with an idea.

"I've thought of something fun."

Holding the Holydite, Altair dashed into his workshop, leaving Hestia and Saeko with curious expressions.

Once inside, Altair immediately began cutting, melting, and forging the Holydite.

Before long, Altair had used a combination of ultra-strong alloy (originally intended for a lightsaber hilt) and the Holydite to forge a massive weapon... a single-edged long blade nearly as tall as Altair himself.

The ultra-strong alloy and Holydite gave the blade incredible hardness and flexibility, and its edge was sharp enough to cut through anything. Thanks to the ore's excellent magical conductivity, the blade could also channel magic power.

When designing the lightsaber, Altair wondered if he could use his magic power as an energy source instead of magic stones. Unfortunately, at the time, he lacked metals that could conduct magic, so he couldn't channel magic power into the hilt.

Now, having obtained the Holydite from Loki, he could finally make this idea a reality.

Gripping the massive blade with both hands, Altair pointed it forward and infused it with magic power. A glowing blade of light appeared along the edge. Anyone familiar with mecha anime would instantly recognize this weapon... it looked just like a Beam Saber from Gundam!

Seeing the light blade manifest, Altair smiled with satisfaction. He then used the remaining Holydite to create two fixed mounts and a weapon rack, as well as two more weapons.

Three fixed mounts in total; one on his right shoulder blade, one on his left, and one on his right forearm.

The right shoulder blade housed the rack for the beam saber, which was made from alloy that couldn't conduct magic. The left shoulder blade housed a newly forged beam rocket launcher, while the right forearm mounted a small beam rifle.

Altair now stood fully armed, with a beam saber in his right hand, a rocket launcher slung over his left shoulder, and a beam rifle on his right arm.

At that moment, a fully armored Altair stood tall upon the earth!
