Chapter 128: Everything's fine
"Shizune!"
"Nee-san!" Those words were expressed in a slightly loud tone when Shizune's figure had just crossed the same door as before.
She looked somewhat surprised by the reception she was receiving. Still, after a few seconds, she noticed that the people who were now surrounding her, besides Kurono and Akira, now also included Kazumi among them. On everyone's faces, impatience and curiosity could be seen, it was something that even Shizune could tell, so, like Akio before, she answered to calm them all down.
"Don't worry, Rena is perfectly fine. Everything went well." Both Kurono and Akira had already heard something similar before, but Shizune's words reaffirmed that fact even more, making that feeling of calm reappear in the place.
"Sigh… What good news!" Of course, unlike those who were present before, it was the first time Kazumi heard that, and she couldn't help but breathe a long sigh of relief. She had focused on finishing all the work she had during the morning and rushed to the hospital as soon as she had the chance.
She had just arrived right before Shizune left, so Shizune's words brought her a little bit up to date and calmed her down enough to avoid thinking about anything else or worrying.
"Nee-san, how…?" It didn't take long for Akira to be curious again, and she had many questions to ask Shizune now that she knew Rena was okay, but noticing that once again, Shizune captured everyone's attention and she began to say everything that was on her mind since, surely, Akira's questions were the same as Kurono and Kazumi's.
"He was born without problems…"
"He?" Kazumi couldn't help but ask, but with that everyone had guessed what it meant.
"That's right. His name is Makoto, and he is a beautiful boy." Saying her grandson's name, a beautiful smile full of affection appeared on Shizune's face as the scene of Rena and Makoto, who remained calmly in Rena's arms, appeared in her mind again.
It had to be said that this was a great revelation since both Rena and Akio did not want to know the sex of the baby until it was born, and it was something that everyone was curious about, so hearing it resulted in a slight silence until Kurono had the opportunity to say something.
"So it's a boy… Honestly, congratulations to both of you for this new member of your family." Kurono expressed himself in the best way he could. It was true that perhaps the real congratulations would be for Rena and Akio, but all this was also great news for Shizune and Akira, as well as for their entire family.
"So… I'm an aunt now?" As if she suddenly didn't believe everything that had just happened or heard, Akira's gaze was fixed on nothing as she continued to analyze everything. Her posture fell a little as if a huge weight was removed from her, but the most important thing was that, like Shizune, she felt a pile of feelings forming inside her to the point that she wanted to cry to let it all out, but Shizune's voice would prevent that from being possible.
"Thank you for your words, Kurono." Shizune did not forget to thank Kurono properly. "That's right, Akira-chan. From today on, you are an aunt, and I am a grandmother, hehe."
It was undeniable that right now Shizune was radiating happiness that anyone could notice, one that highlighted her beauty, but especially, it was a happiness that was accompanied by tranquility and affection that was completely due to the good news and the fact that both her daughter and grandson were perfectly fine.
In the end, Akira could not bear it any longer and let out her tears that contained relief and happiness similar to Shizune's. Like Kurono, Kazumi also did not take long to calm down and congratulate both Shizune and Akira, as well as ask many more questions about what Makoto was like.
"I would have liked to take a photo or something, but I could only be there for that short time and I was too focused on Rena and Makoto-chan. I was asked to go out because Rena was told to try and breastfeed him, and they have to do some checks later to see if Makoto-chan is really okay." Those words explained Shizune's return, and everyone nodded at the explanation, but the next thing made everyone's good mood and curiosity increase once again. "The good news is that, if everything goes well, it's very likely that we'll be able to see both of you later. Of course, with proper hygiene and care."
Shizune was just repeating what the doctor had told her before leaving, but she had already understood all the instructions and would follow them to the letter. Everyone else also listened attentively and tried not to forget anything, so it seemed that they would only need to wait a little longer to see Rena and Akio's child. "I better call the town to give the good news, my parents said they would be at Nee-san's house and they are surely as anxious as we were." Akira quickly remembered that important point and apologized before moving away a little to make the call.
Shizune was also interested in telling the news, but she would leave that small job to Akira since right now the energy in her body had vanished a little, mainly because all the tension from before had finally left her completely.
"Good job." Kurono's voice was quick to make itself known when he saw Shizune's state, and she put all her attention on him.
"Hehehe… I don't know if I deserve those words. Rena was the true warrior this time. She looked so tired, but the smile she had really overshadowed all that, besides, she looked beautiful." Shizune got a little lost in her thoughts as she described the feeling Rena had given her.
She couldn't just ignore everything that had happened, especially since now her beloved daughter had become a mother for the first time. It was a once-in-a-lifetime event for all of them and Shizune still exuded enormous happiness.
"I don't doubt that. After all, she's a real mother now, but still, it's a complete achievement for you. It's like the reward after you've put all your love, care, and trust into her." Kurono took Shizune's hands so that all her attention was on him. Kazumi had already gone behind Akira as she understood that Kurono wanted a moment alone with Shizune, so there was nothing to distract them.
"I... I couldn't be happier and prouder for her." Shizune didn't avoid Kurono's action and also gently took his hands. "It's true that she still has a long way to go, but right now no one can say that the world didn't reward her efforts. Everything went well, and that's the least I asked for. My daughter is fine, my grandson is healthy... How could I not be happy?"
Once again, that beautiful smile graced Shizune's face. In itself, it was a wonderful sight, one of the most beautiful, but, above all, the most honest and charming that Shizune could show, and that Kurono could see... Which indicated that, now, everything was perfectly fine.
