Jitsu -A different story-

Chapter 131: Family love

"Eh?" That small expression of surprise and confusion was the only thing that could come out of Shizune once she heard her daughter's question.

"Why do you seem so surprised? It was around this time that you and Kurono-san started your relationship, at least I think you should take it as a special occasion and celebrate it." Rena gave her honest opinion, although she also understood that maybe Shizune and Kurono didn't think the same as her.

"Now that you mention it… That date is indeed quite close." If they asked Shizune, she should honestly say that she had forgotten about it. Not because she didn't care or anything like that, rather it was because she had been taking care of Rena and Makoto for so long that she hadn't given herself the chance to think about it.

"From your words, I can understand that you haven't really planned anything. I won't tell you to make some amazing plan or something like that, but I think it would be nice for both of you to enjoy an occasion where you don't need to worry about anything else." Rena's words were completely sincere since it was true that Shizune had been helping her a lot these past few months, but at the same time that had made Shizune's free time much less and she couldn't spend much time with Kurono or do other things that she enjoyed.

In reality, Rena had told Shizune many times that she didn't need to be so aware of her and Makoto, and although Shizune did indeed take the time on some occasions to go out with Kurono or visit Kazumi, it was also true that a lot of her time was focused on taking care of her daughter and grandson.

Rena couldn't do anything to change that, but that didn't take away the fact that she was very grateful to Shizune. They both knew that the situation was temporary, as the days passed, the help Rena needed was reduced while she gained experience on everything necessary and how to properly take care of Makoto, and fortunately, Rena demonstrated all of this to Shizune so that she could be calmer.

"I appreciate your words, Rena. The truth is that I haven't had the chance to talk about this with Kurono, but I think it would be really nice to have a date or something like that to celebrate. I'll make sure to tell him next time." Shizune was already having some thoughts about it, and just thinking about having a moment alone with Kurono was enough to make a small smile grace her face.

That would probably be the moment when Rena would act in a somewhat forceful manner, where she would explain to Shizune that she shouldn't just stick with the idea of a date and that she should go further, that it should be an unforgettable event, but curiously, she kept a bit silent while she drank some water from the glass she had nearby, and although Shizune couldn't notice it, Rena had that playful smile that characterized her quite a bit.

As always, the days went on. Rena's adventures with Makoto didn't stop, but all of them would surely become beautiful memories for Rena. That was the same situation for Akio since almost all of his free time was dedicated to being with his wife and son even though his work had increased a lot in the last few months, the simple fact of thinking about his family made all the extra effort completely worth it.

"That's right, honey. I'm your aunt Akira, it makes me very happy that you remember me, hehe." With a tone a little different than normal, and that would make some people put on a strange expression, Akira's voice was heard in the living room of the apartment while in his arms was little Makoto who tried to move while his sight was focused on Akira. "Awww! He's so cute, and he's really grown up a lot."

Despite the photos she had been receiving almost daily, Akira could notice the big difference between the first time she saw Makoto and the current one, now the little boy opened his eyes more and made slight movements, although Akira was too focused on giving her nephew a lot of love.

"I'm glad he's not scared of you or started crying, a couple of friends have come to visit and it's happened more than once." Rena just breathed a sigh of relief seeing Makoto's calmness in Akira's presence.

"I'm quite surprised actually, since you always made me cry when we were kids I thought you wouldn't have the skills to deal with them." Despite the situation, Akio didn't miss the opportunity to make fun of his sister a little, although what he received in response was a cold look from Akira, which didn't indicate anything good.

Leaving aside that little scene, it was necessary to mention that it hadn't been long since Akira had arrived in the city, and more precisely at the apartment, to then be caught by her cute nephew, in addition to talking to Rena and Shizune, and explaining that everything was fine in the town. It hadn't been long since Akio had arrived either, which had resulted in the current scene.

Despite that, there actually came a time when little Makoto couldn't help but cry, but thanks to all the experience Rena had accumulated, she now perfectly understood the reason for it, and it was precisely because it was already time to eat, so she retrieved Makoto from Akira's arms and began to breastfeed him slowly.

"I don't think I mentioned it to you before, but now I realize that you really have become quite the mother." Those same words came out of Akira the moment she saw Rena and the way she took care of Makoto.

It went without saying that, just like Shizune, Akira had also seen Rena grow up for most of her life. She always remembered that little girl who called her Onee-chan and who truly loved her as if she were her sister, and for that reason, it was unique or surprising to see how having a child could change a lot of the feelings that Rena conveyed.

Of course, at that moment it was not only her who thought that way, Akio also had his own ideas about it, but most of them were mainly focused on the affection and love he had for both his wife and his son, although in the same way, he could not help but think about the beauty of that moment, and in turn, how lucky he was at the same time.
