Jujutsu kaisen: Beyond Cursed Paths

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Heir Of Cursed Energy

His first moments in the world felt disorienting—a swirl of light, warmth, and strange vibrations pulsing beneath his fragile skin. His small body shuddered as it adjusted to this new reality, and though his eyes had not yet fully opened, he could already sense something intense coiling within him. It wasn't like the simple instincts of hunger or sleepiness—it was the sharp awareness of power, as though every atom of his being was charged with something primal. Cursed energy—powerful, uncontrollable— thrumming in his veins as though it had always been there. A restless, enigmatic force.

As his awareness deepened and he became more cognizant, he could feel it pulsing—not just within his body but around him, as if the room itself responded to the energy. But in this moment not knowing what it was, all he could do was exist in it , swathed in an electric awareness he didn't fully understand.

Handing him to his mother, Ikari Harugawa who was still flushed with sweat and exertion from the childbirth, the nurse said:

"He is a quiet one....most children would have made lots of noise right after being born but look at him, even with my hit, he kept quiet real fast".

Ikari with a concerned look asked her

"I..is...is he alright? Is any..thing w..wrong?"

"No...he is perfectly fine from the look of things", the nurse said as she packed up,"we will still have to do some final check ups but he is as healthy as he can be now".

"Oh...thanks a lot" Ikari murmured, still weak.

"It's not problem" the nurse said with a smile on her face, " I will send your husband to you now, he has refused to calm down....scaring everyone " the nurse informed while leaving

Ikari smiled upon hearing that while cradling her son. After a while, a man rushed in wearing a worried expression calling her name incessantly.

"I am here, Hiro" she said "we are both here".

Hiroshi Harugawa, a man of calculated composure, stepped closer to the bed where his son lay nestled in Ikari's arms. His expression shifted from concerned to impressed as he watched the child and then turned his attention to his wife.

"You have suffered, honey....thank you"

Ikari smiled, subtly nodding.

After exchanging whispers that are meant only for their ears, he turned his attention to the child and while checking him carefully something caught his attention.

"Wait, is that??." After checking more carefully, he was amazed. It's what he thought

'cursed energy!!'

He could feel the fluctuation of cursed energy rising from Sora.

"Do you sense it?" Hiroshi muttered more to himself than to anyone else in the room, his hand hovering just over Sora's form. The cursed energy enveloping the baby was unmistakable. It wasn't just an innate technique—it was a flood, raw and potent.

Ikari noticed her husband's slightly stunned expression and narrowed her eyes, speaking softly, "What is it, Hiroshi?". Her senses dimmed by the ordeal she just went through.

Hiroshi's proud smile began to form. "He's inherited my bloodline. The presence of cursed energy in him—it's beyond anything I've seen before. This energy... it's not diluted. This is pure and strong." He grinned wide, his chest swelling with the pride of a father whose son was stepping into a future greater than his own. "He'll make a name for himself among the strongest."

Ikari, who had been inspecting their son carefully with a mother's wary eyes, stared at Hiroshi with a half-distrustful glare. "Not so fast. I can't tell whether you're the proudest father or a delusional one."

Hiroshi looked her way with a sheepish expression, rubbing the back of his neck. "Hey, what can I say? He's got it all." His grin grew a little wider. "The boy is my son, after all. I knew our bloodline would produce someone remarkable."

Ikari scowled, her gaze half annoyed, half resigned, but the tiny flicker of amusement that danced in her eyes betrayed her true feelings. "You're going to be the one regretting this pride when he's stealing your spot as the clan's strongest sorcerer in the future."

Hiroshi chuckled, looking fondly at Ikari and their newborn son, clearly savoring the moment of lighthearted banter.

The baby looking at the man who was smiling so wide and proud, practically beaming with joy and the woman who held him, smiling gently with eyes clothed in affection directed at him couldn't help but wonder what was being said as he couldn't understand a thing.

But their playful exchange was interrupted when the door to the room slid open with a heavy creak. Elder Hideaki, whose voice had once carried a tone of deep authority, entered the room with measured steps.

"Congratulations Hir..."

His piercing eyes immediately narrowed, sensing the powerful wave of cursed energy flooding from the infant in his mother's arms.

Elder Hideaki's gray hair, weathered over years of life devoted to the clan's practices, moved like a shadow in the low light, his ancient face barely revealing any trace of emotion. He had felt great cursed energy many times throughout his long life, and yet, this was unmistakably different.

"The energy… it's real." His voice was hushed, as if unwilling to voice the full gravity of the situation aloud. He took one slow, deliberate step towards the infant. His wizened eyes seemed to glow as he assessed the infant's presence carefully. "Hiroshi... Ikari," he began softly, "This child's cursed energy... it's extraordinary. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you two produced a true genius."

Ikari raised an eyebrow. "Genius? From this little thing?" she asked worriedly..her mind filled with motherly concerns, but there was no malice in her tone. In truth, she was intrigued, though still overwhelmed by what had just happened.

Elder Hideaki continued, undeterred. "His energy is off the scale. Have you felt how it moves? It's as if it is in him entirely, not only inherited, but his own to command." He paused, tapping the side of his walking cane against the floor as if to stabilize himself against the shock of what he had felt.

"Truly?" Hiroshi asked, clearly both proud and a little surprised. His eyebrows furrowed, trying to comprehend the weight of what was being said. "You think—?"

"I'm sure," Hideaki affirmed with a slight nod. His hands folded in front of him, thoughtful. "You see," he began, his voice filled with the wisdom of many years, "I've been around long enough to know when a rare talent emerges." He paused, looking at the newborn boy. "This boy's cursed energy—his potential—is something that must not be squandered. It could change the very course of the Harugawa Clan's future."

Ikari nodded, but her expression turned more serious. "Is this power too dangerous for a baby, though?"

Elder Hideaki gave a meaningful look, then slowly replied, "It's not about the danger, Ikari. It's about the training. His energy will need focus and discipline. Without that, yes... danger is inevitable. But he must be molded correctly, or the power inside him could become uncontrollable."

Hiroshi's chest swelled again. "I'm not worried. This is what I've been working for! To create someone who can surpass the strongest jujutsu sorcerers."

Ikari shot him a glare. "You act like you'll still have a role in the family when he does. I'm not the one who's going to be relegated to just being the great-grandfather."

"Don't worry, don't worry!" Hiroshi quickly backpedaled, raising his hands in mock surrender, a nervous laugh escaping him as Ikari's glower deepened.

Elder Hideaki chuckled softly, his hands folded in front of him as he felt the flow of cursed energy ripple from child's tiny form. "Quite the pair you are," he commented with a smile, appreciating the lighthearted moment amid the weighty responsibility now settling over their son.

"Have you decided on a name for the little one?."

Hiroshi, exchanging glances with his wife on seeing the slight trembling of the elder which he failed to hide well, coughed while saying

"...his name is Sora....Sora Harugawa."

"Sora huh? Good Good Good... The elder said while smiling " a strong name".

"But for now," Elder Hideaki's voice took a sharper turn, and his posture grew even more upright, "This cannot remain within the family alone. I must return immediately to tell the other Elders and the Head of the Clan. They need to be aware of this… potential."

Hiroshi straightened, realizing the seriousness of the moment. "I agree. Let's not waste any more time."

"It's not just the Harugawa Clan that will be affected by this," Hideaki said grimly. "The way this child's cursed energy is fated to grow... we must inform the head of the clan now."

With one final glance at the baby, Hideaki turned and made for the door with surprising speed for his age. His robes swished as his cane clicked on the floor in a steady rhythm. "Your child… he might be the most promising new member this clan has ever seen."

As Hideaki exited with purpose, Hiroshi looked at Ikari, a slight grin on his face. "Well, looks like we've got a genius to raise," he said.

Ikari rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless. "Don't think your pride is going unnoticed."

Hiroshi simply laughed again, taking it all in stride, while saying "it's all you honey."
