Kaliyug - A Cursed Prince

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - Proxy Fight

After visiting the mall with Kaliyug, Jeeva returns home, where her friend Keerthi gives her a curious look.

"You're so late! The food's cold!" Keerthi says, opening the door.

"Sorry, but I'm not hungry. I ate out today," Jeeva replies as she walks to her room.

"Did you go out with that loser, Kaliyug, again?" Keerthi asks sarcastically.

"He's my friend," Jeeva responds, picking up a book.

"A friend? For so long, I thought we were best friends, but since Kaliyug came into your life, you've completely changed. You don't hang out with us, and you don't even join us in the proxy fights anymore!" Keerthi argues.

"Look, I used to care about what people thought, but Kaliyug taught me it's okay to live life my own way," Jeeva says, heading to bed.

The next morning, the light shines through Jeeva's room as she wakes up, looking disheveled with her purple-dyed hair and a sloppy outfit. As soon as she opens her eyes, Vinoy, the king of the school, is standing in front of her, along with Raj and Kamli.

Vinoy is the most powerful student in the school, with a power ranking of 7 out of 10. No one has ever defeated him in a proxy fight. Raj and Kamli, a couple with power levels of 6 out of 10, are also formidable fighters.

"Hey, Jeeva," Vinoy greets as he sits down.

"Hey," Jeeva replies, sitting up.

"We've been challenged by Team Eleven from another school, but Rumi is sick, so I need you to stand in as Rani," Vinoy says, flashing a grin.

"But I'm done with proxy fights," Jeeva says, standing up and putting on her coat.

"You don't have to fight. Just stand there, and Raj and Kamli will take care of the rest," Vinoy reassures her.

"Okay," Jeeva agrees, heading to the bathroom.

Later, the group travels by train to another city, where a crowd of students has gathered for the proxy fight. As soon as they arrive at the school grounds, the opposing team sees Jeeva and hesitates, remembering the last time she fought—when she tossed someone across the field without touching them.

"So, this is the famous Jeeva," Rani from the opposing team remarks.

Jeeva stands quietly, scanning the crowd of noisy students.

"Ravi will fight for us," Kunal from the opposing team says.

"Raj will fight for us," Vinoy responds confidently.

Raj and Ravi face off. Ravi unleashes fire from his hands, but Raj quickly creates a shield of water to block it, then traps Ravi in a water bubble and hurls him to the other side. As Raj prepares to deliver a powerful water punch, Kunal signals for the match to end in their team's defeat.

"Now our queen, Jamila, will fight," Kunal says, stepping back.

Suddenly, a laser shoots out from Jamila's eyes, hitting Raj in the chest. He falls, blood flowing from the wound.

"We surrender!" Jeeva announces calmly.

Kamli rushes to Raj, healing him with her powers. As Jeeva steps forward to join the fight, Vinoy stops her.

"I promised you that you would just watch," Vinoy says, stepping toward Jamila.

Before Jamila can fire another laser, she's trapped in a shrinking yellow glass, causing her pain. Kunal shouts that they concede defeat, but Vinoy doesn't stop. Jamila's body begins to bleed as the glass closes in, and Kunal rushes toward Vinoy, throwing sharp nails from his hands. Vinoy dodges most, but one nail pierces his shoulder.

Kunal, too, is trapped in the same glass, bending as it tightens. Vinoy kicks him down, and the entire crowd falls silent.

"Vinoy, let them go. They've lost," Jeeva calls out, turning to leave.

But Vinoy doesn't listen. Jeeva moves like the wind, breaking his trap and hurling him aside. She's slightly injured in the process but walks off calmly.

Kirti runs in to treat Vinoy, but he insists she only tend to Raj.

"What happened to him?" Vinoy groans, still in pain.

"I don't know, but ever since she started hanging out with that loser, Kaliyug, she's been acting weird," Kirti says.

"Kaliyug?" Vinoy growls, clearly irritated.

Later that evening, at home, Kaliyug is cooking dinner and singing when he hears the doorbell. Opening the door, he's surprised to see Jeeva.

"You're here? This time of night?" Kaliyug asks.

"Yeah, I want to crash at your place tonight," Jeeva replies, walking inside.

"Sure, why not?" Kaliyug says, bringing food from the kitchen. "Let's eat."

After dinner, they relax on the couch, watching cartoons. Jeeva notices a book on the shelf titled A Cursed Prince.

"Is this book still available?" Jeeva asks, picking it up.

"Yeah," Kaliyug answers.

"You know this book's been banned by the government, right? If anyone's caught with it, they can get punished."

"I know," Kaliyug says quietly, placing the book in his cupboard.

"Then why do you have it?" Jeeva asks, surprised.

"Because the author is my father. I have a copy," Kaliyug responds softly.

"Wait, Ajay Vishnoi is your father?" Jeeva asks, shocked.

"Yeah," Kaliyug says, then spreads out his bed on the floor. Jeeva falls asleep there.

The next morning, Kaliyug serves breakfast, and Jeeva, getting ready to leave, asks, "Can I borrow A Cursed Prince to read?"

"Sure, here you go," Kaliyug says, handing her the book. "Let's catch up at school."

Later at school, Kaliyug heads to school, but on the way, he runs into the boy with the diamond again. This time, the boy is with two others.

"You threw me off the second floor last time. Let's see how you survive this!" the boy says, transforming into a diamond again.

"I don't want to fight," Kaliyug says, backing away.

But the three boys surround him, beating him badly and leaving deep cuts all over his body.

"Haha, you thought you were a big shot?" the diamond boy taunts, landing a punch that sends Kaliyug bleeding.

Just as the boy raises his fist for another blow, Vinoy steps in.

"Let him go," Vinoy says coldly.

Frightened, the boys immediately scatter, and Vinoy picks up the injured Kaliyug, carrying him back to the medical room.

The doctor treats Kaliyug's wounds and bandages him up.

"Thank you for saving me," Kaliyug says.

"I'm the king of this school. It's my job to keep the peace," Vinoy responds before walking away.

"The doctor's right. You're lucky Vinoy saved you. Your body's a mess," the doctor comments.

"I just don't get it—why do powerful people pick on the weak?" Kaliyug says, feeling down.

"Because this will continue until either the powerful are all gone or everyone loses their powers," the doctor replies.

"Who could possibly defeat these powerful people?" Kaliyug asks, looking at the doctor with a curious expression.

"The cursed prince," the doctor answers cryptically.

"But that's just a fairy tale! No one can be perfect enough to have a power rating of 10," Kaliyug laughs, dismissing the idea.

"Yeah, you're right," the doctor agrees, before heading to another room.

Meanwhile, Jeeva sits on the school rooftop, reading the book. It says that in every era, a cursed prince is born to destroy the powerful and bring peace to the world.

She finishes the book, then slips it into her bag and plays video games on her phone. Breaking her own high score, she screenshots it and sends it to Kaliyug, who smiles and starts playing the game as well.

Elsewhere, Kabir, the joint secretary of the college newspaper, is hurrying when he bumps into Vinoy.

"Hey, Vinoy!" Kabir greets with a smile.

"You need to do something for me. In exchange, I'll do a photoshoot for your newspaper," Vinoy says with a grin.

"Oh, really?" Kabir says, getting excited.

"Listen first," Vinoy says, standing against a wall.

"Sure, what do you need?" Kabir asks.

"I need you to spy on Kaliyug. I want every detail about him—his past, his present, everything," Vinoy orders
