Chapter 9: Chapter 9 - Destruction
The sun had set, and the world seemed to hold its breath. The sky was empty of birds, and an eerie silence hung over the school grounds. Kunal and Rumi stood motionless, watching as Kaliyug walked steadily toward the school. His expression was calm, fearless, and his steps deliberate.
The students who noticed Kaliyug walking alone erupted in laughter.
"Looks like he's tired of living," one boy sneered. "Coming here to die!"
Two boys stepped forward to confront him, but one halted the other with a gesture. The first boy snapped his fingers, igniting flames in his hands. With confidence, he charged toward Kaliyug, hurling a fireball.
Kaliyug sidestepped effortlessly, his lips curling into a smile. His eyes glowed a vivid green. Within seconds, his entire body was engulfed in flames—not mere fireballs like the boy's, but a roaring inferno that consumed him.
The crowd gasped in shock. Kaliyug's flames were impenetrable, rendering fire attacks useless against him. With a casual motion, he hurled a massive fireball at his attacker, who screamed as the flames engulfed him. The boy collapsed into a nearby fountain, unconscious and covered in burns.
Kaliyug returned to his normal form and continued toward the school. Another boy stepped forward to challenge him.
"So, you can control fire," the boy sneered. "Too bad you let your guard down."
The boy flung razor-sharp nails from his hands at Kaliyug, but Kaliyug burned them to ash with a quick fireball. He smirked as his eyes turned green again, signaling the activation of a new power.
As the boy charged with another set of nails, Kaliyug's body transformed—gleaming, metallic spikes erupted from his skin. The boy froze in fear and tried to retreat, but Kaliyug moved faster. Two long, sharp spikes shot from Kaliyug's body, piercing the boy and leaving him crumpled on the ground, bleeding.
Kunal and Rumi watched in stunned silence, their minds racing to comprehend what they were witnessing.
Kaliyug, undeterred, continued toward the school. This time, four boys surrounded him.
Kaliyug chuckled, his body igniting again. Flames danced around him, and sharp, fiery spikes jutted from his burning form. One of the boys shot a laser from his eyes, but it barely scratched Kaliyug's fiery armor. In response, Kaliyug unleashed his own laser beam, piercing the boy's chest and leaving him lifeless.
Before the second boy could react, Kaliyug struck with his spikes, incapacitating him. The other two tried to escape but were consumed by fireballs.
The last boy, whose body turned to diamond, stepped forward. "You've fooled everyone, Kaliyug. Pretending to be powerless while hiding three abilities? But this ends now."
Kaliyug's eyes glowed again. His body transformed into diamond, complete with razor-sharp diamond spikes.
"How is this possible?" the diamond boy stammered, fear overtaking his bravado.
"You know what they say," Kaliyug replied, his voice cold. "Only a diamond can cut a diamond."
Kaliyug's diamond spikes slashed through his opponent with terrifying precision. The boy screamed, begging for mercy, but Kaliyug was relentless. With a final blow, he severed the boy's arm and tossed it aside.
Fear gripped the watching students as Kaliyug strode into the school building. Kunal and Rumi followed, stepping over the injured and unconscious bodies littering the ground.
Inside, a new challenger—a boy with incredible speed—rushed at Kaliyug, throwing him to the ground. The students cheered, thinking the speedy boy had the upper hand. But Kaliyug stood, unfazed, and smiled.
As the boy charged again, Kaliyug moved faster, appearing behind him in a blur. He unleashed a flurry of punches, so rapid they were nearly invisible. The boy collapsed, coughing blood.
Rumi gasped. "What is this? Can Kaliyug copy powers just by observing them?"
"Not just copy," Kunal whispered. "He amplifies them tenfold. Look—fire, spikes, diamond, speed—he's mastered them all."
"This is… aura manipulation," Kunal added, his voice trembling.
The realization hit them both like a thunderbolt: Kaliyug wasn't just strong—he was nearly unstoppable.
On the second floor, Kaliyug faced more students. A girl with blade-like hands attacked, but Kaliyug countered with his own rotating blades, slicing through her defenses. Another girl trapped him with roots, but Kaliyug severed them effortlessly and unleashed a devastating attack.
By the time Kaliyug reached the third floor, the hallway was a river of blood. Injured students lay everywhere.
Now, Kaliyug stood on the rooftop, facing Vinoy, Raj, and Kamli. Jeeva was bound in chains, her body bruised and her eyes filled with tears.
"Run, Kaliyug!" she cried. "They'll hurt you too!"
Vinoy sneered. "How did he get up here?"
Before anyone could react, a laser beam shot from Kaliyug's eyes, slicing through Vinoy's armor.
Kaliyug wiped the tears from Jeeva's face and gently pushed her behind him.
"You call yourselves champions of proxy fights?" Kaliyug growled. "Let me show you what a real fight looks like."
And with that, he advanced, his green eyes blazing with unrelenting fury.
