Kings of Eden

Chapter 5: SoulKing

Those walking along the hall made way for a young man wearing glasses as he made his way toward the training rooms. In the air beside him two robots were projecting images of people, while explaining to him their abilities. Behind him an android wasn't far behind with a clipboard along with a hologram shown coming from her necklace.

The man's name was Jayden he is second in command of the Wraith Kingdom, as well as the head all the research and communications, he was second only to the cities king Soul in power and strength. The kingdom was givin the name because of the many wraiths seen protecting those who lived there, as well as fought in the army.

Walking up to the door of the training room the sounds of grunts and explosions could be heard inside.

Walking in Jayden could see the bodies of young men and women gasping for air on the ground, blood and sweat dripping off their stiff bodies. Standing not to far away a man could be seen standing in the middle of the few still standing

slight beeds of sweat running down his cheek, behind him a young man could be seen falling from a hole in the wall.

Soul stood in the middle of the others unfazed, his body was slightly translucent and moving as he stood there. He was surrounded by dark smoke and ash, it flowed from and around his body while also making him impenetrable. On his face was a dark Oni mask, from the corners of it's mouth ash flowed, from where his eyes would be there was nothing but smoke. His usually black hair was replaced by a wildfire of purple flames.

While the others wore long-sleeved clothing designed for training and taking heavy hits, he wore a simple pair of shorts and a tank top. In his hands he held two training daggers imbued with his energy so they wouldn't break against the real weapons the others held.

Everyday he would select fighters to face him in the training room allowing them to bring their weapons of choice, so that he would be pushed to fight more seriously while the others were more likely to only be seriously injured rather than die.

Noticing Jayden, Soul tilted his head but kept his gaze on the others, acknowledging his presence. Seeing this Jayden moved toward a chair on the very edge a good distance away from the fight. Behind him in a well reinforced room sat a few of the newer students observing them.

The rooms were created so that students and newcomers could become encouraged and inspired by watching their king as well as those who fight for them, which is why every so often field trips were held here.

Jayden used one of his robots to form a forcefield around himself while the other brought up Soul's current stats. Jaydens abilities excelled in technology and analytics, using this he determined how strong his field needed to be and just how much force Soul would use against the others.

Although not displayed in the report Jayden was one of the few who knew of the links the kings held. Not many had them, and it was known only to those who either had one or were trusted enough to be told.

Trying to catch their breath all eyes were on Soul waiting for him to make a move. He stood in the middle scanning the room to see who among those standing would give him the most challenge. He held eye contact with a young man to his left the slightly looked toward Jayden, who in return shook his head then nodded toward the woman whom was a little older than he was in the back of the group.

Although the young man could produce a wind ability at the rare rank the woman held a legendary ranked healing ability. The only drawback to her ability was it could only be used on contact unlike some that could be used from a distance. The upside was that she could heal all injuries and contaminations someone had, while being able to pass it onto those she fought against. She'd recently been offered to become a combat medic leaving her position in the hospital, believing that she would bring a high advantage on the battlefield.

Soul had been taken everyone out one by one while maintaining distance from her, keeping her from the injured as well as from himself.

The young man gathered his wind around him preparing to throw it toward Soul attempting to get rid of him in one big move. Everything in the area was moving toward him joining in on the attack, even his allies had to fight back the force of the pull. The smoke and ash around Soul started get wrapped into the vortex as well, his body started to dissipate slowly heading towards him.

Soul paid no attention to the build up of force, but maintained eye contact with Sarah as she twitched slightly preparing to back Jack up. She constantly healed as she allowed some of the weapons to hit her on the way to Jack, building up her own attack.
