Konoha, Just Like Kizaru

Chapter 67: 067 Jounin Exam, Drawing Lots

With this realization, Simu could now boost his Constitution simply by eating like crazy.

Excited by the idea, he didn't bother to sleep and headed straight to the hotel owner, requesting a hundred pieces of sushi.

Why eat at this hour? Well, the answer was simple—reimbursement!

All expenses for the competition were covered by Konoha's finance department.

If not now, then when?

So, under the puzzled gazes of many ninjas, stacks of empty plates started piling up outside Simu's room.

He finally let out a satisfied sigh after finishing his 300th serving.

"That's enough for tonight. Just bring me the whole pot of tea," Simu said with a grin.

"Okay!" the owner replied, breathing a sigh of relief.

While they had made a lot of money from Simu's feast, keeping up with his appetite was exhausting.

They'd even woken the chef, who had already gone to bed, to prepare another two hundred pieces of sushi over two hours.

As Simu sat in satisfaction, sipping his tea, Tsunade walked in, her face twitching with annoyance.

Tsunade slammed her hand on the table, her voice was cold.

"Hanyu Simu, what the hell are you doing?"

"You just ate 600,000 Ryo worth of food tonight! That's more than our entire team combined!"

Simu calmly poured an entire pot of tea into his mouth, then responded casually,

"Senior Tsunade, I'm in my growth stage. Isn't it normal to eat a little more?"

"A little more?!" Tsunade snapped, sitting down angrily.

Simu gave her a puzzled look.

"It's Konoha's money, not yours. Why are you so frustrated?" he thought, genuinely confused by her reaction.

Simu asked cautiously,

"Tsunade-senpai, don't tell me you've been using Konoha's funds to gamble at the casino, lost everything, and now can't even pay for a meal?"

Tsunade's expression shifted, looking a bit uneasy.

She snapped back angrily,

"Of course not! Do I look like someone addicted to gambling?"

Her words were quickly followed by a loud slap on the table, which cracked under her strength. Without another word, she stormed out of the room.

Simu watched her go and thought to himself, If I'm not mistaken, she's probably heading to Jiraiya to borrow money.

Next time you say you don't gamble, maybe remove the giant sign behind you that says 'Gambling,' Simu muttered, shaking his head.

His personal evaluation? Not as reliable as my own sense of justice, he thought smugly.

Simu's eating frenzy was just a minor distraction. The real focus was the upcoming assessment.

The second day arrived quickly, and the competition resumed. Out of all participants, only 16 had successfully advanced past the first round.

Now, the final winner would be decided through a knockout tournament.

The champion would earn a direct promotion to Jōnin, while the others would be evaluated based on their overall performance by the judging Jōnin.

Konoha performed impressively, with eight contestants successfully advancing past the first round!

Uchiha's team contributed two participants, Shikaku's team had three, and Simu's team added another three.

Out of the sixteen available spots, Konoha claimed half of them!

The other two major nations managed to qualify three participants each, while the early withdrawal of Kumo allowed two smaller Ninja Villages to grab the remaining slots.

Admiral Mifune stood at the center of the arena as the contestants prepared to determine their opponents by drawing lots.

Simu casually reached into the lottery box and pulled out a ball.

Number 7.

With eight numbers in total, those with matching numbers would face off.

He held up the ball and waved it.

In the crowd, a man wearing a hat and clad in full red armor locked eyes with him.

It was Han from Iwagakure.

Simu let out a sigh.

Really? Another Jinchūriki? I just dealt with the Two-Tails, and now it's the Five-Tails' turn?

With Kushina's Nine-Tails included, this exam has already seen three tailed beasts.

If the Akatsuki organization showed up now, they'd knock out a third of their "KPI" instantly.

Too bad for them, though—the Akatsuki is still busy chasing "peace" in Rain Village.

As for our not-so-real Uchiha Madara? He's probably still stuck in ninja school back in Konoha.

Shaking off his wandering thoughts, Simu turned his focus to Kushina.

Her opponent was Pakura from Sunagakure.

And Minato?

It didn't matter—anyone was fair game for him, as long as it wasn't Simu himself.

"Be careful not to get hit by Pakura's Scorch Style—it's dangerous," Simu reminded Kushina.

"Got it! Don't worry, I'll definitely defeat her!"

Kushina replied confidently, then suddenly tilted her head, noticing something.

"Simu, have you grown taller again?" she asked, looking up at him.

At 1.6 meters tall, Kushina now barely reached Simu's shoulder—he was almost 1.8 meters.

Simu rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish smile.

"Maybe it's because I ate so much sushi last night. Growth spurt, you know?"

Before they could banter more, Admiral Mifune's voice rang out.

"All players, get ready. The matches are about to begin."

With that, the tournament officially started.

The first match was Uchiha Fugaku.

Despite being thoroughly overshadowed by Simu earlier, Fugaku remained composed and performed well.

He easily defeated his opponent from Sunagakure.
