KONOHAMARU SHIPPUDEN

Chapter 26: The Weight Of Belief

Big Kono leaned back against a rock, his arms crossed as he surveyed the group before him. He had stumbled upon the Akatsuki's hideout after months of wandering the world, driven by a mix of curiosity and boredom. His journey had taken him through forests, mountains, and deserts, but nothing had prepared him for the eccentric group of rogues he now faced.

"So, you're saying you're interested in joining us?" Hidan asked, his scythe resting casually on his shoulder.

Big Kono smirked. "I mean, you guys seem like a fun bunch. World domination, chaos, fancy robes—what's not to like?"

Before him stood a group of cloaked figures, their expressions ranging from amusement to indifference to outright hostility.

The most animated of the group was a pale man with silver hair, holding a massive three-bladed scythe. His eyes glinted with a mix of fervor and irritation as he sized up Big Kono.

"So, lemme get this straight," Hidan said. "You just wandered in here, thinking you could join us?"

Big Kono smirked, twirling Mini Kono, now in his staff form, between his fingers. "Well, I heard there was this badass group of rogues causing chaos everywhere. Thought I'd see what all the fuss was about."

Hidan snorted. "You think we're here to babysit some kid with a stick?" He pointed his scythe at Big Kono. "This ain't a daycare, monkey boy. We're followers of Jashin-sama, and we don't take strays."

"Jashin-sama?" Big Kono raised an eyebrow, leaning forward slightly. "Wait… are you guys not the Akatsuki?"

Hidan's eyes narrowed. "The what now?"

"The Akatsuki," Big Kono repeated, his smirk faltering. "You know, fancy robes, big plans for world domination? Rings? Red clouds?"

Hidan stared at him for a moment before bursting into laughter. "You've got the wrong crowd, kid! We don't give a damn about any 'Akatsuki.' We serve Jashin-sama, the one true god! And if you're serious about joining, you'll need to prove your devotion."

Big Kono's smirk returned, though this time it was tinged with unease. "Prove my devotion, huh? What's the initiation? A secret handshake? Maybe a quiz?"

Hidan's grin widened, revealing sharp teeth. "Oh, it's much better than that. See that altar over there?" He pointed to a crude stone slab smeared with dried blood.

"Yeah…" Big Kono said slowly.

"Stand on it," Hidan commanded, his tone gleeful. "We'll start the ritual to welcome you into Jashin's embrace. If you survive, you're in. If not… well, at least you'll make a nice offering."

Big Kono tightened his grip on Mini Kono. "Oh, great. A death cult. Just my luck."

The "Initiation" Begins

Big Kono stepped cautiously toward the altar, his eyes flicking to the other figures in the cave. Most of them watched silently, their faces obscured by shadows. He couldn't tell if they were curious, indifferent, or just waiting for the show to start.

Hidan's scythe gleamed in the dim light as he twirled it in one hand. "Alright, monkey boy. Just stand there and stay still. This won't hurt… much."

"Yeah, I'm not really a fan of getting stabbed," Big Kono said, backing away slightly.

"Too bad!" Hidan lunged forward, his scythe slicing through the air.

Big Kono dodged effortlessly, his movements fluid and precise. "Hey! What happened to the whole 'welcome to the team' thing?!"

"Jashin-sama doesn't do welcome parties!" Hidan snarled, swinging his scythe again.

Big Kono leapt onto a nearby rock, Mini Kono extending into a full staff in his hands. "Alright, you crazy zealot. Let's see what you've got."

Hidan charged, his movements wild but deceptively fast. Big Kono parried the scythe with Mini Kono, the clang of metal echoing through the cave.

"Not bad, monkey boy," Hidan taunted, his grin widening. "But let's see how long you can keep up!"

Big Kono smirked. "Longer than you, that's for sure."

He swung Mini Kono in a wide arc, increasing its weight just before impact. Hidan barely managed to block with the shaft of his scythe, the force of the blow sending him skidding back.

"You've got some tricks," Hidan admitted, his voice tinged with annoyance. "But I'm not going down that easy!"

He lunged again, spinning his scythe in a flurry of strikes. Big Kono dodged and countered with swift jabs and sweeping blows, using Mini Kono's ability to extend and shrink to keep Hidan at bay.

The fight was fast and chaotic, each combatant pushing the other to their limits. But as the minutes passed, it became clear that Hidan's reckless style was no match for Big Kono's precision and strategy.

Hidan finally stumbled back, panting and bruised. "Alright, alright! Enough!" he growled, lowering his scythe.

Big Kono rested Mini Kono on his shoulder, grinning. "What's the matter? Jashin not helping you out today?"

Hidan scowled but didn't reply. Instead, he waved a hand dismissively. "Fine. You win. But you're still not joining us."

"Wasn't planning to," Big Kono said with a shrug. "Honestly, you guys are a little too… stabby for my taste."

Hidan glared at him but said nothing as Big Kono turned to leave.

As he walked out of the cave, Mini Kono whispered, "That guy was nuts."

"Totally," Big Kono agreed. "But hey, at least we got a good workout."

Mini Kono hummed in agreement. "You think we'll ever run into the real Akatsuki?"

"Maybe," Big Kono said, his smirk return.

With that, the two clones disappeared into the jungle.
