Chapter 6: king of flame
Suddenly, Yuma, the flying-type monster, unleashed a fierce gust of wind that swept up the ground around them. This monster released a poison gas, causing Jin, Kenya, and Kenjuro, who were positioned behind Sei, to collapse.
"Watch out!" Sei shouted as she turned back, and rushed toward Kenya while Yuma flew forward towards him.
''Black'' She summoned her Guardian, and then the Water Guardian transformed into Kanata.
With a black blade and a changed aura, she wielded Kanata and struck down Yuma. With a swift swing of the black blade, the air crackled with intensity, as if the very elements bowed to her command.
Yuma staggered, shock etching features, unable to comprehend the ferocity that coursed through Kanata.
The once serene Water Guardian had morphed into a vessel of raw energy and determination, a warrior forged from the depths of the ocean.
"Haaa! ...haa!... You possess Yuma's aura, you must be one of us," Yuma exclaimed through the pain inflicted by Sei.
A sly smile danced across her lips, with a stormy spark shimmering in her eyes.
"That doesn't imply I need to be one of you!" she responded, her voice resonating with an ethereal quality.
As she advanced, the black blade hummed, eager for battle, while the water mirrored her connection to the ocean. Despite Kanata's confident voice hinting at doubt, she felt empowered and leaped toward him.
The blade glinted, signaling her readiness to unleash her inner storm and honor her ancestors.
''Hydro Blades'' She conjured razor-sharp blades of water that effortlessly sliced through Yuma's skin. The blades shimmered with a faint blue light, highlighting their lethal potential and leaving Yuma's body riddled with cuts.
''Arhhhh....'' Yuma, the flying-type monster, shouts out pain at Sei.
Seeing that, Sei aimed to finish him with one final swing.....
''Aqua...'' Sei hesitated in her attack and looked around.
Out of nowhere, the fire erupted, causing the woods around Yuma to shift. The flames exuded an intense aura, igniting the chair and streetlight nearby.
Suddenly, the fire burst forth, prompting a change in the surroundings near Yuma. The flames radiated a powerful energy, setting fire to a nearby chair and streetlight.
And then, someone dressed in a Yukata appeared, walking past Sei and making his way toward Yuma. Sei looked at him in surprise as he suddenly stepped out.
Sei stood still, observing what he was about to do with Yuma. He drew his Katana from its sheath, the blade glowing with a vibrant red aura, matching the red of his Yukata, which gave him the appearance of the Flame King.
The intensity of his actions instilled fear in Yuma, causing him to cry out in panic;
"No... no... no... You're... the King of... Flame!"
His Katana slices Yuma's body twice, causing it to suddenly vanish into thin air.
"Ah... It looks like we're running late." A person hurried in and came to a sudden halt when they realized that Yuma was no longer there.
"Well, it's not our fault," one of them chimed in, stepping forward to speak.
Two of them turned to the man in the red yukata and said,
"It's been a while, Senpai," one greeted, while the other simply nodded in a traditional Japanese greeting.
"You were late; ensure that no one sees anything," replied the guy in the red yukata. His voice was deep and calm, and his face revealed no emotions.
"Hmmm... But... I believe it's too late; someone has already seen everything," one person replied, turning to look at Sei, who stood a little further behind them. The others followed suit and glanced in her direction.
"Huhh!...." he muttered, following what his friend had just mentioned. However, his expression was one of confusion. "Why can't I sense her aura?" he thought to himself.
The man in the red yukata didn't say a word; he merely glanced at Sei before exiting the area.
"Oi! Doesn't that seem odd, Hanamichi?" one of them remarked as he left.
"Hah!!!... I don't care about him, but... that girl?" Hanamichi replied, still eyeing Sei.
The two of them fell silent as the doctor arrived to attend to the injuries, yet their eyes remained fixed on the girl.
Meanwhile, Sei, feeling both annoyed and perplexed under their scrutiny, couldn't shake the sense of confusion.
"What do you want?... Senpai?" she inquired as they approached.
"Huh?!" Both of them looked puzzled.
"No!... it's nothing. You should take care of your injuries," Hanamichi responded, noticing that Sei had a few wounds.
"Kaneki!... I believe we should inform Ishikawa!" Hanamichi said to his friend as Sei left with the doctor, and the guy named Kaneki simply nodded in agreement.
Just like Sei, she sensed what Jin had told her: there was no longer any safety. She glanced at her wounds, tended to by the nurse, and then at her friends lying in their beds.
''Haaa...!!!... It seems like I'm the one who has to protect them,'' she murmured, casting a weary glance their way and letting out a sigh.
The door to the room swung open unexpectedly, catching Sei completely off guard.
"Huh!"She looked at the person entering the room with a puzzled expression.
No one but Takeru heard Jin, his roommate, get attacked by Yuma, prompting him to rush to his side.
He glanced at Jin and exclaimed, "Thank the goddess!"
Sei raised her eyebrows but remained silent. At that moment, Takeru scanned the room and was surprised to see Sei sitting on the bed, glancing in his direction.
"Uh... Um... sorry to interrupt your rest," Takeru said.
"That's alright. By the way, who are you?" Sei inquired.
"I'm Shiba Takeru, Jin's roommate," Takeru replied, a smile lighting up his face.
"Hmmm?!... I thought he would say soulmate," Sei reflected in her mind, but she smiled back at Takeru.
"Ishigami Sei, related to Jin," she responded.
Both of them are quiet; one appears to be polite and shy, while the other seems to avoid conversations with unfamiliar people.
At times, the teacher enters the room with a composed demeanor, he surveyed the scene, his gaze sweeping over the students with a mixture of concern and authority.
"Is everyone alright?" he inquired, his voice carrying a reassuring tone that eased the tension in the room.
"We're fine, sensei," Sei replied, offering a nod of gratitude for his timely presence.
"Oh!..... Shiba-kun, I'm glad to see you here supporting your peers," he remarked, acknowledging Takeru's concern for his roommate.
Takeru offered a humble nod, feeling a sense of duty that extended beyond just Jin. Sei cast a glance his way, wearing a look of confusion. However, she remained silent, gazing at the door through which someone entered the room.
"The Dean!" The Sensei who was the first to arrive and greet;
As the Dean of the Academy entered the room, he looked remarkably youthful, standing tall at around 190 cm with flowing white hair and silver-blue eyes.
