Legendary Broken Player - VRMMORPG

Chapter 592 - Tower of Trials

[Moonlight Passkey]

[This Passkey grants a designated individual access to enter the pocket dimension, provided you are present within it. Once granted, the Passkey is permanently bound to that individual. Access can be rescinded, though doing so will result in the permanent loss of the Passkey.]

Broken nodded slowly as he absorbed the description of the fourth item, a small, silver ring-like key.

"So, with this item, I can give someone access to this place, but they can only enter while I'm here?"

"Yes, exactly, Master," Cecilia replied. "Once given, the bond is permanent, but if you decide to revoke access, the Passkey will be lost."

Broken thought about the possibilities, this would allow him to share this space with trusted companions, offering both an advantage and a haven.

He pondered carefully, considering who should be the first to receive the key, knowing he only had one. Freya came to mind initially, given her countless ways of supporting him. Yet he felt no pressing need to share the key with her right away.

"Freya will be in Slumdon Town frequently for now, so I suppose I can wait until I acquire more of these Passkeys."

Then he thought of Ivana. They'd shared many expeditions, and having access to this dimension would give her a safe place to rest or wait if he ever needed to log out of the game. With the key, he wouldn't have to worry about leaving her on her own in potentially hostile environments, she could simply remain here until he returned.

"Cecilia, would it be possible for me to bring someone here, log out, and have them stay in the pocket dimension?" Broken asked.

"Yes, Master," she confirmed. "If you log out while someone else is here, they'll still remain in the pocket dimension as if you were present."

Thinking it through, Broken decided to hold off on giving the key to Ivana since he didn't have any immediate expeditions planned with her.

Then there was Princess Alora. She would be his companion on the next expedition. If he placed the Gatestone in Slumdon Town, they could use the combination of the Passkey and Gatestone to return to the kingdom quickly and safely, should an emergency arise. It was the perfect solution.

"Yes, that seems like the best choice," he concluded.

Broken glanced around, noting the brightness of the day, though there was no sun in sight. He wondered why this place was called "Moonlight" when it seemed set in daylight.

"Cecilia," he asked, "will it always be daytime here?"

"No, Master," Cecilia replied. "This place will adjust to the time outside. If it's night in the outside world, it will be night here, too. You might notice, however, that while the sun isn't visible, the moon is. At night, the moon you'll see here is the same one seen outside."

"So, this dimension mirrors the moon from the outside world."

"Yes," she confirmed. "It creates a link between this space and the outside, reflecting the moonlight here even though the sun remains hidden."

The concepts of Pocket Dimensions, Dungeons, and Trial Domains share similarities—they're all fragment dimensions connected to the main dimension. According to various quest lore within the game, these fragments are realms whose settings and rules can be modified based on the creator's intent and objectives.

In contrast, Hell, the Demons' world, is not merely a fragment but a universe unto itself, vast and complex, rivaling Yunatea in scale. This realm serves as both home and prison to the Ranked Demons, sealed away from Yunatea.

To the people of Yunatea, Hell is a place of nightmares, for it is said that even a single Ranked Demon unleashed there could cause catastrophic destruction. Though Demons carry one of the Blessings of Sin, granting them immense power, they inhabit a world all their own, with abilities that extend far beyond the limits of any fragment dimension.

"Okay, Cecilia, I think your explanation makes sense," Broken said. "But there's one more thing I'd like to confirm. If I store something here from outside, where will it actually go? I'm curious about that."

Cecilia let out a light laugh and replied, "Master, I can organize where everything goes. This place is vast, so I don't think you'll need to worry about space for quite a while. But I have a suggestion for you."

She floated a bit ahead, gesturing for Broken to follow. He trailed behind her to a small cave, its entrance warmly lit, making the interior clearly visible from outside.

"Master, we could use this space to store your items," she said. "You won't need to worry about organizing it, I'll handle everything myself."

"Great," Broken replied, looking around. "Looks like I'll be able to store a lot here."

"So, Master, as long as you remember what objects are stored here, you'll just need to picture them in your mind, and you'll be able to retrieve them from outside," Cecilia explained. "You can also communicate with me from the outside, so I can confirm or locate items for you as well."

Broken had initially intended to handle all his crafting here in the pocket dimension, away from interruptions, with full focus on his work. But with Mana gathering only possible outside, he'd have to adjust his plans.

Fortunately, his private workshop in Slumdon allowed him solitude whenever he needed it, and he had several commissions to work on from the Ass Guild, including orders for members from Livelywood, Starfall, Elincia, and others.

He turned back to Cecilia. "And how long until I can get another Passkey like this one?"

Cecilia floated with enthusiasm. "Master, now this, this is another remarkable feature of the pocket dimension I'm excited to introduce."

"Oh really? So there's still more?" Broken replied, intrigued.

"Yes! Come follow me with the flying fox."

Broken hopped back onto Polly, and they flew toward the mountain in the center of the island, descending at its base where a massive cave entrance loomed. He dismounted and followed Cecilia inside, marveling at the crystals embedded in the cave walls, which glimmered beautifully. The soft scent of moss and the sound of water dripping echoed through the space, giving the place a fresh, natural feel.

After a short walk, they reached a vast open chamber, a grand cavern with a towering structure in the center. The structure was cylindrical, multi-leveled, and reached up through the ceiling, almost like a tower piercing the rock above.

"A tower?" Broken murmured, his eyes widening in amazement.

[Tower of Trials]

[A multi-tiered structure hidden within the depths of the Unseen Universe of the Moonlight. Each floor presents a unique challenge, growing progressively more difficult. Upon conquering a floor, the challenger receives a reward, with the value of prizes increasing as they ascend. Only the brave and relentless may reach the tower's pinnacle, where the most powerful rewards await.]

Broken turned to Cecilia, his curiosity piqued.

"Welcome to the Tower of Trials, Master," Cecilia said with a smile. "I believe you'll end up spending a lot of time here, as I'm sure you'll be eager to take on the challenges and complete each floor."

"Oh? And what kind of challenges and rewards should I expect, Cecilia?"

"There are 100 floors," she explained. "As for the nature of each challenge, I think it's best if you enter and experience them firsthand. But I will say this, if you fail a challenge, you will die just as you would in the outside world, though you won't drop any items. You'll revive here, ready to try again."

"Oh, so it's serious," Broken murmured, feeling the weight of the task. "A real test."
