Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 48: Dungeon complete?

Finally, the firebird was about 10 meters away. In Lucas's mind, it took forever for the bird to reach him while he anxiously awaited it.

In reality, the bird had only been moving toward him for ten seconds now.

John's whole face had turned reddish, the veins on his forehead and near jaw line bulged showing the pressure on his face but Lucas could not see his miserable state.

SHRIEK!

"Haah!!" Lucas tense his hips and thighs not wanting to fall with the pressure he was going to use in trying to stab the bird.

The bird was only inches away from Lucas but he could see that it was confused as to who to attack. Lucas didn't give him the satisfaction of that last choice, he forcefully trapped it by moving the spear toward the bird.

The bird felt annoyed thinking that the enemy was too cocky for his own good. It shifted its claws toward Lucas's direction while also thinking that the spear won't do shit to it like the last time.

Lucas's spear was inches away from piercing the middle of the bird. While the bird's right feet's three claws neared his shoulder. Lucas panicked for a second thinking that claws made of fire were going to pierce his shoulder. In the end, he thought of Ella and how she was there for them.

Even the last second felt to be more than one. Until finally, both bird's and Lucas's attacks had hit each other.

PUCHI!

POOF!

"Ughhh!!!" Lucas felt an intense pain in his shoulder, even after readying himself for the pain and moving his shoulder to be safe and not be hit on the neck instead.

His eyes had closed from the pain and when he opened them, something rewarding could be seen.

A huge chunk of the fire the firebird was made of was gone leaving some of the feet, neck, and face in the process.

The claw that was embedded in Lucas's shoulder removed itself but not in a normal way, the claw had materialized into a normal fire and made its way toward the little fire that was left in the firebird.

When it started forming itself again, Lucas's face went pale but after the transformation was done. Everything felt normal.

The bird had shrunk in size, it had lost half of the fire it once had that made a poof sound and dissipated.

Finally, Lucas could see some panic in the bird's behavior. It was darting its eyes and moving its neck around fast as if flustered and panicked.

It moved its whole body around and wanted to make distance but something was right behind it that even surprised Lucas. All this time, he was looking and only concentrating on the bird not realizing that Ella had come to them running from the corridor's exit.

She had started running after she saw John fall on his knees, she knew how it happened because she had seen the whole thing.

John had done the same thing he did with Lucas's spear with the winds. But the first time he did it was different. The winds were not only on the spearhead but the whole spear including the hand that was holding it.

SWISH!

Before the bird could react, Ella had already made a vertical slash splitting the bird in two. The bird's whole existence became a flickering fire again that wanted to join together like always.

But at the same time, while taking advantage of the moment, Lucas had in turn made a horizontal slash but he was not done thinking it was not enough even when there were now four fireballs floating in the air.

Lucas let the momentum of the slash he made with the spear make him move a whole circle. The spear, in a second, returned to attack the fire making a slanting slash in the process.

It would have been a normal horizontal one but as it was a split-second decision, Lucas was already falling on the ground from moving the circle due to imbalance.

The fire was now in countless pieces which were getting smaller in size every second. It seemed the firebird was not really fully invincible. Not only did the wind attack with the help of John made half of its fire dissipate.

Now, when Ella and Lucas were not letting it mend together and making many pieces out of its existence. The fire was getting smaller until only a little was left.

As Lucas fell on the dungeon's ground and Ella couldn't make another attack still feeling a huge stress on her shoulders and back from that previous fast vertical strike. The fire got away a few meters and mended together.

The firebird was yet again in the form of a bird as it flapped its wings to keep flying.

CHIRPP!!!

A loud chirp resounded in the chamber loudly making everyone silent. Even John who was breathing heavily stopped for a second.

"Pft..." Lucas couldn't hold a single laugh coming out of his mouth.

The firebird had become a pitiful creature in comparison to its former self. Its size was no bigger than the sparrows back on Earth.

With only a few inches in width and height, the firebird found that the enemies that it had not even measured with their height had suddenly become huge.

The firebird after listening to Lucas laugh had its head building with anger. No matter what the size, it was a creature that was nothing to be laughed at!

SWISH

The firebird came flying toward Lucas who was awaiting it. The bird changed its posture with its feet ahead of the body like an eagle that is about to grab a rat from the ground.

SLASH

Lucas slashed again and this time, he was slower with exhaustion. The firebird became an insignificant flame again only this time the flame had become the size of a candle's top until it exhausted completely.
