Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 50: Skill selection complete

Lucas explained his so-called 'brilliant' idea that he was very excited about.

The frost bow was something that could make any arrow, whatever the material coated with ice. He asked John what would happen if the arrow was made of literal wind.

"Oh my god... that would become icicles if I am thinking right..." John was impressed with Lucas's creative mind.

"It may not happen as we are thinking but even if that's the case, the bow will still be a great weapon and those wind arrows will be used in another bow that we can make with wood and plant fiber."

"... I guess there is nothing to lose then, I am good with ranged weapons anyway." John said and picked the skill 'Wind Arrow' from the left section which made that section shimmer white. He also took another small rough paper that had the name 'Frostbite Bow' written on it.

"And Aunt Ella, I think you should get that Mana staff. It will suit your abilities."

Ella went to think for a minute and after looking at every weapon for a while. She picked the mana staff.

"It's your turn," John said after patting his shoulder. He went and satin the ground and asked the same from Ella.

"What's wrong? Still feeling dizzy?"

"That and he is going to take a while so I might as well take some rest." John said and took a deep breath. Ella sat with him and they both looked at Lucas who was in his thoughts, not even caring about what they were doing at this point.

'Two of them are already gone. That leaves five... blazing breath, I will keep it on probation... Earth wall... It's a good skill.' Lucas thought and he was not done as he continued, 'Smith... it seems good but I don't think this will help in the short term when all of us need to survive...

Tamer? Nah, it will take time and I have to level the skill to five too...'

He kept looking at every single skill and the description until his eyes fell on the single one that had some uncertainty around it but Lucas had a hidden feeling about it.

"Perceptive eyes..." He said aloud without even wanting to.

----

Perceptive Eyes

Uncommon

The skill makes the user have eyes that have high perception which will help in seeing through things that are not meant for the naked eyes to see.

----

'See through things that I a not supposed to... Why do I think that to be great?' Lucas couldn't understand why he thought that the skill seemed to be what was the best among all of them.

The Earth wall was great but it was just defense and Lucas didn't like being the defense. It was something of a primal instinct to take a weapon in hand and go fight head-on that made Lucas excited and helped him feel alive.

The fire breath was good but Lucas could tell that it would take a great deal of mana for a few seconds that he didn't have to spare.

Without knowing, his hand went to the skill that he deemed was better than all that was still inside the chest. There was hesitance but Lucas just put them all in the back of his head and just picked it up.

The paper was the same as before when he got the herbalism skill. Lucas did not waste any time and clicked on the option Yes that popped up after he had the skill in his hand.

[Congratulations, you have learned the skill 'Perceptive eyes'!]

Lucas was ready to be hit with much information again but this time around, there were none. He didn't feel any abnormal thing and was perfectly fine both physically and mentally.

He thought of using the skill and suddenly, there was a weird feeling in his eyes. He looked around and seemed to feel nothing special but it was different when he looked at John.

There were some markers all around John's body that were in very sensitive places.

From the top, it was at his eyes, the ears, the back of his head, and the neck from a certain angle. The areas right below the ribs, a certain point that made Lucas feel that the heart was located just there.

Before he could look below, pain instilled itself in his eyes and he had to close them to make the irritation and feeling to pluck his eyes out stop.

He deactivated the skill and looked at John only to see that he had turned to normal and there were no markings on his body to indicate something.

All this time, John was looking at Lucas whose eyes had turned greenish with a glowing hue in the pupils.

He didn't speak and didn't let Ella speak too after seeing that Lucas was not looking at him with focus, he was concentrating on him but was not at the same time.

After Lucas looked around and thought of it some more time, barely 30 seconds. Realization struck him. All the markings he saw, he already knew that they were the sensitive points of the humans in general.

"Your weaknesses! How could I not know it in an instant? Oh my god! This skill is too great!"

"Shhh! Stop shouting, we will talk once you have taken a weapon too. Be fast."

Lucas just nodded with a grin on his face, he turned around and picked a paper that he had his eyes on from the first time he saw it.

-----

Lightning Blade

Uncommon

+2 strength

A sword crackling with electrical energy, capable of delivering shocking strikes to enemies. It is made from the lightning plant type and a lightning embed wood branch.

-----

The description was on the rough paper that was in his hand, Lucas was first happy and then confused as to how he should get the sworn in his hand.

[Weapon detected

Summon it?

-Yes -No]

Lucas clicked on the yes the instant it came in front of him. Soon the paper in his hand started shooming with brightness. Lucas tried to look but it was like staring at the sun, the only thing he could see was the brightness.

Soon, he felt like the shape changed and he was no longer holding a paper in his hand.

When the light dimmed until there was nothing left, Lucas could feel and see a 60 cm-long sword in his hand. He was already holding the hilt that was black in color with some light yellow lightning design.

His eyes went above when he saw the sword in his hand. There was no blade as a scabbard was covering it. Lucas moved his hand and took the scabbard off revealing a yellowish sharp blade of a good size.

When Lucas looked at the blade after keeping it straight near his face. He could see his own reflection which made him wonder how cleanly made it was with no cracks or chips.

"Wow" John said while he observed the sword with fascination. It looked right out of a fantasy.

Lucas placed the sword back in its scabbard as he knew in order to make the blade get electric, he had to put some of his mana in it and the only way he knew is because when he pressed yes and got the sword.

The information was already in his brain.

He didn't have any mana left after using it halfway with perceptive eyes.

Suddenly, Lucas started feeling very good. It was as if he was having a massage. He looked back and saw that Ella was smiling while her hand had a ball of white light. Under his gaze, she threw the ball that went straight to his shoulder making him feel good again while also some itching inside the wound.

"That was a good aim, Aunt Ella. I already feel great."

"You were pretty close, young man. And these two balls of healing took 2 mana points each." Ella said with a bright smile on her face.

"You both should get your weapons out of that paper. We will have to leave now."

Lucas's eyes fell on John who was looking at his hand, suddenly, the air started circling around his palm like a tornado. And after five seconds, it took the shape of an arrow.

"Don't use the bow right now, Uncle John. Let's do it after we reach the shelter."

"Alright, I will summon the weapon when we reach back."

After a minute, the circle below them that was emitting white light became dim and was off the next second. The chest that was in the center of it became particles again and dissipated into thin air as they came in the first place.

The trio started walking toward the corridor they came from and found that the traps were still there, and were already completed.

After 30 minutes of walking straight while also looking for some traps here and there, they were outside the dungeon.
