Chapter 1
Who is The Woman from Space?
The story begins in a hospital, a patient is rushed to the emergency room, losing a lot of blood, and the doctors are attending to the patient, trying to prevent too much blood loss.
Doctor Franklin: We need more pressure, Camilla, hold on, and add more pressure.
Doctor Wade: The patient seems to have multiple bullet wounds; the spinal cord is fractured.
Doctor Franklin: Prepare anesthesia.
But as they begin to operate, the patient dies.
Doctor Franklin: Hmm, call it Doctor Wade.
Doctor Wade: Time of death 2:48 Pm.
Doctor Franklin: I'll give the news to the family members.
Camilla walks out to see the mother of the dead patient crying, grabbing the clothes of Doctor Franklin.
Doctor Franklin: I'm so sorry madam, I truly am.
The Mom: No! My son! No! It's not true tell me it's not true!
Doctor Franklin: I'm very sorry.
Camilla walks towards her friend Nurse Sandra as they both enter her office.
Sandra: How was it?
Camilla: It was horrible, we couldn't save him.
Sandra: Don't beat yourself up; there are some things that are just out of our control.
Camilla: You don't understand, I became a doctor to save lives, and so far, I've been unsuccessful. I lost my husband, my daughter can't walk, I hardly have time for my sons', and our rent is almost due.
Sandra: You've lost so much; don't be like that, you've got this. My dear friend, listen to me, you are strong, brave and a good mother.
Camilla: I wish I was all those things. Do you actually know how my husband died?
Sandra: No, you never told me.
Camilla: I met my Husband when I was 18. His name was Joseph, he was the most handsome man I had ever seen, full of life, tall and a good man, it took us only 9 months before he finally proposed. He joined the army when my oldest son was twelve years old, but a month later I was told that he died in a war, I was told that he fought in the 2003 invasion of Iraq which began on 19 March 2003 and 20 March 2003 and lasted just over one month, including 26 days of major combat operations, in which a combined force of troops from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Poland invaded Iraq. Since his death, I've been lost, I get constant anxiety attacks.
Sandra: Why don't you take a break, a vacation, something to take your mind off things, and besides summer holidays is in two days' time, take a trip to your mom's farm and take your kids with you. It will really help you.
Camilla: You really think so?
Sandra: I know so Camilla, and don't worry, besides, the Hospital is granting 2 Months' Vacation to your team for containing the Malachi Virus outbreak, and you're on the list.
Camilla: Really?
Sandra: Yes, you deserve it.
(They both hug).
At Champions High Elementary School
A child is eating his meal at the cafeteria, but suddenly his food gets spilled on him.
(Everyone in the cafeteria suddenly stop)
Duke: Trash boy!
Gabriel: What do you want Duke?
Duke: What do I want? Did he just ask me that?
He then punches Gabriel across the face, causing him to bleed through his nose.
(Gabriel begins to cry).
Gabriel: Why are you doing this? What did I ever do to deserve this?
Duke: Come on trash boy, are you seriously crying? I haven't even started beaten you up yet and you're already crying?
As he is about to punch Gabriel again, his hands get grabbed by Gabriel's elder brother.
Ben: If you as much as to lay a finger on my brother again, I'll hurt you badly.
Duke: And who the fuck do you think you are?
Ben punches Duke hard across the face, launching him to the ground.
Duke: You'll pay for this; you hear me trash boy?
Ben grabs him by his shirt and speaks to him with a serious grim on his face.
Ben: I don't give a flying fuck who you are! This is your final warning; hurt my brother again and I will personally break your face. Do you understand?
Duke: Yes.
Ben: Then get the fuck out of here before I punch you again.
(Duke runs away, while Ben helps Gabriel up).
Ben: Are you okay?
Gabriel: No, I'm not; my nose is bleeding.
Ben: Let me see, nah it's not that bad. I'll get you cleaned up.
Gabriel: Why are you actually here? Shouldn't you be at your school now?
Ben: Mom called; said I should come get you.
Gabriel: Why?
Ben: Apparently mom took permission from your school's principal; we're free to go.
Gabriel: Wait, hold on, go where?
Ben: We're going to Grand Nana's Farm.
(They both wait for their mother's arrival outside the school's premises).
Ben: But don't you have any friends?
Gabriel: Apparently, I'm not cool enough to have any friends, so no.
Ben: Listen Gabe, you can't keep allowing bullies push you around; you need to understand, you're no longer a kid, okay? Look, you're 13; you're becoming a man now.
Gabriel: I miss Dad!
Ben: Dads gone! He isn't here anymore. Do you understand?
Gabriel: I don't know if I can.
Ben: I can't keep saving your ass every time; you need to learn how to stand on your own. Do you understand?
Gabriel: Yes.
Ben: Good, mom's here.
(A car pulls up in front of them. She drives an old rusty 2002 C-class Mercedes- Benz).
Camilla: Who's up for Summer Vacation!
(They both remain quiet).
Camilla: Okay then; get in boys.
(As they enter the car, it smells awful)
Gabriel: Ewe what's that smell?
Ben: Mom when was the last time you had an oil Change?
Camilla: Well, I haven't had time to service it yet.
Gabriel: You couldn't have told me earlier? I know how to fix a car Mom.
(As they travel on the road, Camilla sees her kids quiet).
Camilla: So, Gabriel, how was school today?
Gabriel: It was cool, I guess.
Sally: Let me guess, you either suck at dodge ball again or you didn't get picked this time and now you're wondering if you will be able to get people's attention, because they don't even know you exist, right?
Ben: I think that's pretty accurate.
Sally: It is pretty accurate!
Gabriel: Shut up!
Camilla: Okay that's enough, Ben, Sally, stop making fun of your brother; you know how sensitive he can be.
Gabriel: I'm not sensitive; I just like to be alone most of the time.
Ben: In other words, I don't actually know how to make friends, so I pretend to be quiet and mysterious, sitting at home all day watching cartoons.
Gabriel: If you actually knew me and what I actually like, you'd know I don't watch cartoons, I'm more of a video game addict;
But you can ask Sally, she's the one that watches dumb cartoons.
Sally: Hey my little pony is not dumb! It's a classic, and you're the one that's dumb.
Camilla: Hey! That's enough. Look I know things are hard, but we have to stick together, okay? I am really trying here guys. I miss you guys, I miss us being a family, and I know I haven't been a good mom lately; look, all I ask from you guy's, just try to get along.
Sally: Okay mom.
Gabriel: Okay mom.
Ben: Okay mom.
Camilla: Okay, so, let's play a game. Sally, would you rather have a one billion dollars right now or 500 thousand dollars every month for a life time?
Sally: 500 thousand dollars for a life time.
Camilla: Really Why?
Sally: Well, if I did have 500 thousand dollars every month for a life time, I can buy all the things I want; invest in real estate, and help the poor. By doing that; I can make more money, invest every month. And even if I do make bad investments, I can always have the rest of my life to make better business plans, and have zero to no losses; as opposed to just having one Billion dollars; which in the events of making bad investments, I'm screwed for life!
Camilla: Wow! Sally, you do have your mother's brain.
Sally: No, I don't think so.
Camilla: What do you mean?
Sally: I mean you're great. But I think I'm more like Dad, because he was the business minded one out of the two of you.
Camilla: Okay? What about you Gabriel? Would you rather choose love over money?
Gabriel: I'll definitely choose money.
Camilla: Why? I mean wouldn't you want to fall in love and have children?
Gabriel: Well, love is great; but without money, it's irrelevant.
Camilla: How? Love is what inspires people to want to make money, to be able to provide for their families.
Gabriel: That's not always true mom, for some people, it's the need for survival that makes them to want to make money. The only reason people in this day and age are really searching for love is because we know our survival really isn't threatened. If we were deprived of stuffs like, electricity and McDonalds, humanity wouldn't really prioritize love; all they would do is strive to survive.
Camilla: Yes, but what about procreative purposes? If we don't reproduce, we'll all cease to exist. So, in my own opinion, reproduction is a great motivator for finding a mate in order to pair bond.
Gabriel: Yes, but you know you are just proving my point the more, right mom? Okay, imagine we're in the Stone Age, women look for the best and strongest men to pair with. This' called natural selection. If they don't attract the strongest man, they'll die. So, women screen and pair with a man, irrespective of whether he's handsome or not, in order to survive. But the reason women in this modern time don't really care about money is because they know they're self-dependent and can live independently of any man, have what it takes to be self-reliant, which is education, and use their professional skills to make money. So, they opt for love instead, but with the exception of some who are lazy. A lot of them don't want to work, so they go in search of rich men using their feminine guiles to capitalize and siphon their resources. This can also be said about men. A lot of men don't want to fall in love but rather prefer money; because they know a lot of women are after their money, so they work hard to make plenty money to get any woman they desire without commitment. This is a flaw in human nature.
Sally: Flaw? What do you mean by it's a flaw?
Gabriel: Okay, most women are selfish and materialistic while their male counterparts are insatiably polygamous in nature. So, they both prefer independent and uncommitted relationships. Even among those who believe in serious relationships, women's selfish nature is still very obvious; to put it simply, a woman's money is her money alone, while the man's money is their money. That's why a lot of women expect gifts and expensive jewelries from a man on valentine day; but a large portion of men don't get anything in return, they spend thousands of dollars on dinner dates and don't even get the pooom pooom.
Ben: Dude, how do you even know all this stuff? You're just 13.
Gabriel: True but I've seen a lot of reality TV shows, like Rich House wives of Beverly Hills' and the likes. So, Mom back to your question, I'll rather choose money over love, because you can't really survive in the world with just love, but you can have money and at the same time find love. Besides money takes away a lot of stress and problems and at the same time money makes love and relationships sweet and better.
(They all stare in shock after hearing what Gabriel said).
Camilla: Okay then, Ben how about you? You didn't call since you left for school. How's college?
Ben: It's fine Mom.
Camilla: So, can you tell me what you learnt during your first semester of freshman years?
Ben: I have nothing interesting to say about my freshman year.
Camilla: Come on we both know that's not true. I'm sure.
Ben: Mom please stop; am no longer a kid, I'm not in the mood for this stuff now.
Camilla: What did I say wrong? I'm just trying to know how you faired in school, that's all.
Ben: You had your chance.
Camilla: Look I know things haven't been good between us, but I miss you.
Ben: Really Mom! You missed me? Did you think of that when I was in rehab and needed your support? Or have you forgotten what you said to me? How much of a big disappointment I was to you when you and Dad caught me doing drugs? How you never showed up for any of my soccer games? Only Dad cared to show up and only he really took the time to help me. Why didn't you care when I was depressed? Why now?
Camilla: I just...
Ben: That's right; you don't really care about me, so why pretend?
(Camilla feels guilty while everyone remained quiet).
Five hours later, they arrived at their Grand Nana's house right next to her farm. The visitation is well cherished because all her children are happy to see their grand Nana.
Sally: Grand Nana!
Nana: My Baby Girl!
(Sally rolls her wheelchair and hugs Nana).
Nana: Won't you boys come over and give your Grand Nana a hug?
(They both hug their Grand Nana).
Nana: My Vanilla, it's been so long.
Camilla: Mama!
(Camilla hugs her mother).
They settled in well with all their rooms well-furnished for them by their Nana. At night, they had dinner; Nana is obviously a very good cook, the best according to Gabriel who enjoyed the meal so much. And together with their Grand Nana they all enjoyed a local Mexican game, where she told them stories about the funny experiences she had when she was young. They were happy and laughed excitedly; and for the first time in a long while, Camilla saw her children happy and seemed alive. This also made her happy. Both Gabriel and Sally sleep early while Ben remains awake in his room but Camilla joins her mother who's looking at some old pictures outside.
Camilla: Mother you really should be in bed by now.
Nana: Oh nonsense; you know I never like sleeping early. I'm just looking at some old photos of your late father and me. I really miss him a lot, he was a good, lively, exciting, humble, romantic, loving, and He was really good at shaking at those hips of his!
Camilla: Mother!
Nana: Oh, stop pretending like you're five, you're an adult after all.
(They both laugh)
Camilla: I miss him too, Papa was my hero, I remember every charismas, he used to dress up like Santa, and climbed the roof to drop presents.
Nana: What? You knew Santa wasn't real?
Camilla: Of course, I knew mama, I stopped believing in Santa since I was ten, but Papa didn't stop trying to convince me he's real.
(She smiles).
Nana: How about you Vanilla? How 's life for you in the big city?
Camilla: Hmm, I'm not going to lie Mama, life's is hard for me. Balancing my work with being a mom's hard, I haven't had enough time for the kids, and my work's really stressful; I really wish Joseph was here; he made me feel safe and besides he was a great support to me and our kids.
(Camilla begins to cry while Nana hugs and comforts her),
Nana: I'm sorry Vanilla, I really am; I know what you're going through. When we lost your father, I felt lost too.
Camilla: How did you do it Mama? How were you able to handle the pressures of life?
Nana: You did! Every time I was alone, and felt the whole world on my shoulders, you gave me strength; Seeing you grow and looking into your eyes. I knew I owed it to myself and your father to be there for you. I'm so proud of the woman you've become, and I know that Joseph and your father would be proud of you too. Hm... My advice to you as your mother, whenever you feel alone and you can't go on, remember your love for your children. And I promise, you'll get the strength you need. Your family is your biggest asset, and a mother's love for her children's the greatest thing in the world.
Camilla: Thank you Mama.
(As they hug, Nana decides to finally go to bed).
Nana: I think I've reached my limits; good night, Vanilla.
Camilla: Good night mama.
Camilla decides to go in after some time alone, but then she sees something from afar, in the moonlight night, heading towards her mother's corn field; as she gets closer, she sees a spaceship. It lands on the farm with a massive blast. She runs to investigate; and getting closer to the wreckage, she sees someone inside the spaceship, but before she could do anything, Ben arrives. So, they both argue for some seconds on why he's still awake and not in bed.
Camilla: Why aren't you in bed?
Ben: I couldn't sleep. Mom what is that?
Camilla: I don't know, but I'm going to find out!
Ben: You mean we are going to find out.
Camilla: You shouldn't even be out here.
Ben: Mom look, whatever that thing is, I can't let you go there alone.
Camilla: Alright, fine! Let's move slowly, understood?
Ben: Yes mom.
As they move closer, they are amazed to see what looks like an alien spaceship.
Camilla: What's that?
Ben: Looks like a spaceship.
(They get closer to see a woman inside).
Camilla: Oh my God! Where did she come from?
Ben: We have to get her out of there.
They rescue her before the spaceship explodes. They see it's a woman, a very beautiful, possibly above six feet tall. Red hair, light skinned Caucasian woman. She's obviously injured and losing a lot of blood.
Ben: Jesus Christ! She's losing a lot of blood!
Camilla: We have to get her to the house; I've my medical kits there.
Ben: Alright, we lift on the count of three, one, two, and three!
They both carry her in and Camilla then treats her injuries.
The next Morning, Camilla Tells her mom, and the rest of her children what happened earlier.
Camilla: And that's what happened.
Nana: Wait, I don't understand; you mean she crashed landed, and the spaceship blew up?
Ben: Yes Nana.
Nana: Where's she now?
Camilla: She's upstairs in my room; we had to dress her wounds.
Nana: But I don't understand why you would bring a stranger into our home Camilla?
Ben: Grand Nana she was bleeding, if we hadn't helped her, she would have died.
Nana: It is not your responsibility.
Camilla: I'm a doctor Mama; I swore to an oath to save lives.
Nana: But...
Camilla: But nothing; you weren't there, you didn't see what I saw.
Gabriel: But if she crashed landed on our farm, she could be in the military, I mean, didn't you say it was a spaceship?
Ben: Yes, but it didn't look normal. The spaceship's kind of strange; doesn't seem to be from our world.
Sally: What do you mean?
Ben: It looked Alien.
Nana: Alien! You brought an alien to my house! No, no, no, no, no, I can't permit that! What if she kills us?
Gabriel: Or she controls our minds, and finds our deepest darkest secrets; or worst she eats our brain for dinner!
Ben: Eat our Brains really? You watch too many movies, you know?
As they continue their discussion, the mysterious woman wakes up with a head ache and wonders where she is, she gets up looking around, and in her mind, she's been captured. She feels pains, looks down to see her stomach injuries well dressed. She then hears voices coming from up the stairs and quickly jumps out through the window and runs away. Camilla enters to check on the stranger but sees no one; she notices the window broken and decides to go after her.
Camilla: Ben! We have to go now!
Ben: What happened?
Camilla: She's gone! We've to go after her.
Ben: Alright. Gabriel, Sally, stay here with Grand Nana; no matter what happens, do not open the door, understood?
Gabriel: Yeah, I got it.
Sally: Be careful, you two.
Ben: We will.
Ben decides to carry the riffle mounted on the wall. The mystery woman runs towards her spaceship but sees it destroyed; then falls to her knees in disbelieve, until she sees a woman and a male running towards her, she gets up ready to fight; she picks up a very sharp weapon from her wrecked ship. Camilla and Ben see her from afar but then another spaceship emerges from the Sky and lands. They then take cover on the corn field as they watch.
Suddenly an alien creature emerges from the ship and walks towards the Mystery woman.
Quim: Zyan of Calvia, you're a very difficult person to find.
Zyan: Who're you? And why are you after me?
Quim: I'm Quim the terrible, a gladiator from the Planet of Bid; and I have come for your head!
Zyan: You're a bounty hunter. Do you know who I am? I'm sure you know what I'm capable of.
Quim: Of course, I do. The great warrior of Calvia! Mightier than many! I heard you're the fiercest Warrior in the cosmos, and you're known for destructive capabilities.
Zyan: If that's really so, why have you come to die, when you know for a fact; that I will eliminate you without mercy?
Quim: Ha-ha-ha-ha hahahaha! Well, you see, all I've heard about you are stories, I've come from the farthest regions of the galaxy, with one purpose and one purpose alone, to kill you, and take the reward on your head. You see news have spread out too many of your betrayal to your king; your father, your very own blood banished you; and a bounty has been placed on you by an unknown source,
Zyan: How much?
Quim: 12 billion units and it's all mine.
Zyan: Let me ask you this; is 12 billion Units a worthy substitute for your very own life? This is your final warning! Turn around and enter that ugly spaceship of yours and leave this planet or I'll Kill you.
Quim: You dare insult me daughter of Spectrun! I am Quim the terrible; my name alone makes the mountains crumble and the sea to partway, I'm the warrior of warriors; battling with me would make your demise dreadful...
But before he could say another word, she flies and stabs one of his eyes with her weapon, and he screams out in pain and hit her with a back hand, but she lands unharmed. He then removes the weapon and screams out in anguish.
Quim: You witch! You will pay for that!
He attacks her, but she quickly and effortlessly takes him down once again with a head boot, stabs his other eye with his own weapon. As he cries in pain, she moves toward his massive spaceship weighing hundreds of tons, lifts it and slams it on him, killing Him.
Zyan: Warrior of warriors, what a joke! You can come out now, I can see you hiding; come out or I'll be forced to attack.
(Camilla comes out with her hands up).
Camilla: It's okay, it's okay I'm unarmed
Zyan: Who are you?
Camilla: I'm Camilla, Camilla Novas.
(She slowly moves closer).
Zyan: Don't come any closer.
Camilla: Okay, I'm sorry.
Zyan: What do you want from me Camilla Novas?
Camilla: I saw when you landed, I saved you, I mean, we rescued you, my son and me.
(Pointing to her son)
Camilla: That's my son Ben.
(She sees her stomach wound).
Camilla: Your wound's bleeding, you need help.
(She moves closer).
Zyan: Do not come any closer, I won't ask you again!
Camilla: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, look, I'm a doctor; alright, I'm not a threat to you. I just want to help you. You're bleeding; if I don't help you threat your wound, you can bleed to death.
Zyan: I don't need any help from you! I don't know you, and I don't trust you. I don't even know where I am, not to mention letting you close to me. You could very well be an enemy of mine. I'm the most wanted person in My Universe; I don't know you and I don't trust you.
Camilla: Yes, I get it but, you can't really go anywhere else. Like you said you are the most wanted person in; what was it, your own universe? I didn't even know anything existed outside of our solar system.
Zyan: You simpleton, of course there is life outside of this planet's solar system. You're but an ant in the grand scheme of things, there're ten realms in existence. Each realm houses billions of Multiverses, and each multiverse houses a thousand universes, in which your world falls in just one of them.
Camilla: Oh, okay that's a lot to take in, look; I just want to help you. You're in no condition to stand; let alone argue. I'm a doctor; I swore an oath to save lives, and frankly, you're in need of help right now.
(She moves closer).
(Zyan flies and grabs Camilla by the neck, Ben screams out).
Ben: Let my mother go!
He shoots her with his riffle but it does nothing, he aims at her eyes and shoots again but it does nothing. The bullet gets shattered by her eyes. He then aims at her wound; she falls to the ground unconscious.
(He runs towards his mum).
Ben: Mother! Are you alright?
Camilla: I'm fine, I'm alright. I'm alright.
Ben: Come, we have to go now before she wakes up.
(They begin to run away; she stops and runs back).
Ben: Mom where're you going?
Camilla: We need to go back; we need to help her.
Ben: Why? She tried to kill you!
Camilla: I know that but, look at her, she's losing a lot of blood, if we don't do something she's going to die, and I don't want that on my conscience.
Ben is reluctant at first, but agrees to carry her. They reach the house, lay her on the bed.
Camilla: Gabriel! Bring my medical bag now!
Gabriel: I don't know where it is.
Camilla: It's upstairs in my room, beside my bed.
She treats her injuries once again. In the evening Zyan wakes up right next to a little girl.
Sally: Hi
Zyan: Hmm. Who, who are you?
Sally: I'm sally nice to meet you.
Zyan tries to get up, but she feels discomfort from her injuries. Sally helps her down, but Zyan pushes her hands away.
Zyan: Don't touch me.
Sally: Don't worry; I don't bite; look at my teeth.
(Showing her baby teeth).
Sally: I'm eight years old, maybe when I'm older, I can help bite your nose and you can scream.
(Zyan smiles, because of how little her teeth look).
Zyan: I suppose you pose no threat to me. Where am I?
Sally: We're at my grand Nana's home.
Zyan: Who's that?
Sally: Grand Nana; she's my Grand Ma.
Zyan: Oh, okay that, it makes sense.
Sally: You're very beautiful; I like your eyes, its gold in color. And your hair is red and long, your skin is so white.
Zyan: Hmm.
Sally: What's your name?
Zyan: My name is Zyan.
Sally: Zyan I'm sally, nice to meet you.
(She stretches her hand to shake Zyan, she accepts the hand shake).
Sally: You don't look like you're around here, where are you from Zyan?
Zyan: I'm from Calvia
Sally: Where's Calvia?
Zyan: It's hmm… It's in another Universe.
Sally: Oh, so you're from space?
(Zyan smirks)
Zyan: Yes, I'm from space.
Sally: That's cool, I'm from Mexico, I mean I was born in America, me and my brothers, so that kinda makes me American and Mexican, I don't know, you do the math.
(Zyan laughs).
Sally: Can we be Friends? I want us to be friends.
Zyan: Why do you want to be my friend?
Sally: Well, for starters, I don't have many girlfriends to talk to, I've only brothers and they're cool, but they're not the same as having a girlfriend or a sister. They like sports, I like cartoons. And sometimes I feel like I'm more of a burden to them than a companion.
Zyan: How so?
Sally: Because I had an accident a year ago. My school bus was involved in an accident. My class mates, teacher and I were going on a field trip, there was a head on collision with a truck and a huge crash; then a multiple tumbles down the hill, and I was the only survivor.
Zyan: I'm so sorry. I can't imagine what you must be going through
Sally: Yeah thanks… I mean I'm no longer sad, it was a year ago, but I've accepted it as my fate, because I should have died that day, but I was spared, I keep thinking why me? I mean, I'm not special, I'm just ordinary, but I think I was spared because God has a plan for me. I should be angry with God because I'm handicap, but I'm not; because I've been giving a second chance at life. So, I'm going to use it wisely, spend time with my family, and make lots of friends, and work hard to be successful, yeah that sums it up.
(Zyan gets up and sits upright).
Zyan: Well, I hope you become the best version of yourself.
Sally: Thanks.
(Sally smiles).
Zyan: And yes, we can be friends
Sally: Really! Whoa lucky me!
(She hugs Zyan with excitement).
