Greifia Lucifug, one of the strongest Queens of Hell, Queen Lelouch Lamperouge, stood at the door to the Master's office. In fact, she was the strongest, she just didn't show it.

For now.

She was dressed in the standard maid's robes she wore back when she was still serving Lucifer, and afterwards his son. When asked by her Master why she was unwilling to part with such garb, the answer was simple and complex at the same time.

She didn't want to forget where she had started her journey....

Right now, she was wearing the same blue and white robes of a Servant. Greyfia knocked on the door. She also liked dressing like this. It made her feel...protected. Under a protector. The feeling of submission made her sigh nervously and tingle underneath....

- May I come in? - Greyfia asked politely and calmly.

- 'Come in,' came a commanding voice from behind the door. Greyfia was already familiar with that voice - Lelouch Lamperouge.

Greyfia nodded to herself and opened the door. The room was the perfect temperature: not hot, but not cold either. A slight freshness blowing over you anywhere in the study. Lucifug sighed.

The furnishings in the room were the same as they had always been. No showy luxuries, just bookcases and shelves that housed some Sacred Mechanisms pulled from people. And Greyfia noticed that today that small collection had been augmented....

She caught a glimpse of the Master. He was now sitting in a single white shirt and a black waistcoat that emphasised his strong body more. His legs crossed and his gaze lazily directed at the papers he held in his left hand.

Lelouch, resting his head on his right fist, raised his lilac eyes to the Queen. Greyfia still continued to flinch from such a heavy gaze from the Master. He usually looks at everyone like this, but... Greyfia liked it. Though she wouldn't admit it openly.

- Good afternoon, Master,' Greyfia bowed deeply, closing her eyes.

- 'Good afternoon,' he replied languidly, but even in that languid tone, Greyfia could hear a tone so strong and commanding that it sent shivers down her spine. - 'Can't you tell me something good?

- 'I don't know, Master,' Greyfia answered honestly, not daring to lift her head. She could feel her cheeks still red, -I hope I live up to your expectations.

- You can't live up to them, because you didn't take part in them,' Lelouch sighed tiredly, putting the papers on the table, 'Lift your head up, Greyfia.

Lelouch's tone changed - it was a direct order that she would not dare to disobey. If he had said 'please', she would have still dragged for a while before raising her gaze in time to hide the redness on her cheeks. Now...

Greyfia gathered all her will into a fist and boldly raised her head. Lelouch raised an eyebrow in surprise.

- You're all red, are you hot in here? Did you catch a cold on the last mission? You've already gone to the healing saunas, right? - Lelouch asked worriedly, standing up from the couch.

Though Greyfia stood with a nonchalant face, the chibi-Greyfia in her head was running around in circles, amusedly shouting that all was lost.

Any mythological creature doesn't get sick. They aren't susceptible to the diseases of humans, so they don't have to worry about their health, because the magic inside them will cure everything on its own. But still, even the creatures of the magical world have something to worry about.

If they do not eat for a long time or use any restorative spells, then soon even a Demon can go to bed from a simple fever. Though magical creatures have their own kinds of 'illnesses', but even they are affected by a simple human illness.

And considering what kind of mission Greyfia was on, Lelouch's worry could be understood...''

Lucifuge was slightly embarrassed that her Master was worried about her...''

Oh, God-Emperor, I'm acting like some schoolgirl with you. And why am I addressing you when I'm the opposite...ouch.

Maybe that's why she likes spending time with him. She feels like a little girl who'll be fed and warmed in her hour of need.

- No, it's okay. I must be really hot,' Greyfia said nonchalantly, keeping her face calm and folding her hands on her dress.

Lelouch sighed faintly, sitting down behind his chair once more. He swung his arm. The room grew colder, blowing the cool freshness around Greyfia even more.

- Better? - Lelouch asked.

- Yes, thank you,' she bowed slightly in gratitude.

- Then let's get to the topic of conversation. This is what you came for, isn't it?

- Yes,' the woman nodded, 'I think I'll start with the news from the Underworld.

- Come on,' Lelouch said, sitting back in his chair.

- The liaisons from the Kingdom of Hades report that everything will be ready soon. Almost all the entrances to the Lower World are under their control. They also continue to bring the High Reapers to their side.

- Hmph,' Lelouch said, 'Let them try. The High Reapers don't care about power or wealth. That's all these idiots have to offer,' he sighed. - I'll have to go myself.

- These lowlifes are not worth your attention,' Greyfia cut him off, once again wanting to prove her usefulness, 'Let me handle this. I just need your permission to use...extreme measures.

Lelouch smiled with the corner of his lips. Once upon a time, Greyfia would have just acquiesced and then tossed around in bed at night, repeating to herself that she was useless. Yes, she had a thing for that, but Lelouch had quickly solved that problem....

- Alright,' Lelouch squinted his eyes contentedly, 'I give you my consent. But you must rest before you can complete the task. And then have time to complete it before the main part of our plan. Don't overdo it, Greyfia. Sazex will take care of them later.

- Of course,' Greyfia bowed obediently, hiding a smile. - Thank you.

- Don't mention it,' Lelouch said, also hiding a smile. - I know you'll do the right thing, that's why I'm entrusting you with this mission.

Greyfia blushed again and didn't raise her head.

- Are you hot, Greyfia? - Lelouch asked with a chuckle. Now he seemed to understand the reason for her 'heat'.

- No,' Greifia immediately raised her head, keeping a nonchalant expression on her face, but her slightly red cheeks spoilt things a little.

- Go on, Greyfia.

- Yes,' Lucifug calmed down inwardly. - Now, about the news from Hell.

- Is the propaganda campaign still going on? - Lelouch asked.

- Yes, almost all the attention is focused on the engagement of Rias Gremory and Raiser Fenex. No matter how hard the Lords try, they can't hide such a scandalous engagement. Also, the campaign of the fight between Roigan Belphegor and Bidise Abbadon continues.

- Excellent - he's been keeping an eye on the outside world within the walls of this office lately. Though no, he's lying to himself, for he's just recently visited the main Japanese Goddess.....

- Now, news from the human world. Most of the Coalition's forces have been sent to help Empress Jeanne of France and Emperor Arthur Pendragon of the British Empire,' Greyfia continued, 'I would like to point out that after the legitimate monarchs came to the throne, nationalist parties began to gain influence among the people. Since the position of the throne is still not stable - huge taxes and price increases in the course of economic restructuring do not suit the common people, the nationalists are almost openly shouting that there are impostors on the throne.

- Expectedly,' Lelouch sighed again, looking up at the ceiling, 'What have you done?

- Extremist measures were not used, because mortals might react badly to them. After all, not so long ago they had democracy. Occitania, Brittany and Basque are fully occupied by Nationalist forces, and that's where the Coalition forces are headed. A massive offensive is being prepared by the Italian Empire, the Third Benelux Opposition and the German Empire. Wizards and Sacred Mechanism bearers have long controlled the Government. All the Demons and Fallen that were in the shadows have been destroyed....

Lelouch crossed his arms in front of him, staring into the void. He adopted a pensive expression on his face, and Greyfia knew it was best not to pull him away from that state. Though the Master's brain, as Lucifuge had seen more than once, worked much faster than the rest of them, but even he needed time to think things through and make the right decision.

Lelouch looked at Greyfia. He thought it over...

- Let Jeanne use atomic weapons,'' Lelouch announced, much to Greyfia's surprise.

- Are you sure, Master? - Lucifuge was genuinely surprised, -You've been hiding it for so many years to...

- Lelouch interrupted her, 'Let her wait until she is provoked and then use atomic weapons. They will stop their own advance in fear of the power of such a massive weapon. They will be discouraged. They will be terrified. They will no longer make conditions, but Jeanne will make conditions. That's how quickly she'll end this pointless war...

- But... she may not agree, because you know her nature. A lot of people will die when mo--

- In the Name of the True God-Emperor,' Lelouch interrupted Greyfia again, and her back went goosebumps from his words, 'Give this to her personally, or through our contact. She won't dare go against it...

Greyfia nodded. No, she couldn't pass these sacred words so carelessly to some liaison. She'll have to visit the Empress of the French Empire herself.....

- I daresay the newly formed British Empire is almost falling to pieces.

- That is correct, Sir,' Greyfia nodded, 'The Free Republic of Wales and the Kingdom of Scotland have declared their independence. Northern Ireland has done the same, but this news has been held internally for a long time.

- How many hours?

- Six, Master.

Lelouch arched an eyebrow.

- That long to keep that information inside Britain? Impressive, I had hoped for much less time than that.

Greyfia allowed herself a fleeting proud smile. She too had been involved in improving the cyber security of not only Britain, but France as well.

- Well, good. Is Mortis ready?

- Yes, after Scotland's secession from Britain, he became the First Knight in the service of the King of Scotland.

- Good,' Lelouch nodded, 'Have him contact Arthur later. Pendragon has his own problems, so let him earn his own name before the people of Scotland.

- Very well,' Greyfia bowed slightly to him.

- I know you're going to head over to Jeanne's on your own,' Greyfia shuddered slightly.

Her Master reads Greyfia like a book. Lucifug is both embarrassed and pleased by this at the same time. Such a close bond they have....

- So give her this,' Lelouch pointed to a new glowing ball on the shelf.

- Is that the Sword Father Mechanism you took from the girl called Murayama?

- Yes, that's it,' Lelouch nodded at Greyfia's guess, 'That's exactly it... A Sacred Mechanism divided into four Artefacts. The artefact that belonged to the first man who killed a God,' Lelouch grinned sadly. - Your Mechanism continues to benefit me, Caria, even when you're dead....

Greyfia couldn't exactly guess why the Lord was saying that out loud to her, since she knew the man too. Meeting him had completely turned Lucifuge's worldview towards humans upside down. He was probably the greatest human she had ever known. And the Master, Greyfia was sure, would say the same thing...

- 'I gave that girl a choice,' Lelouch announced into the silence, 'But before that, I resurrected her friend...'

Greyfia opened her eyes wide.

- Mister, but...why? - Queen Lelouch was genuinely perplexed, -You could have used it to your advantage. Develop her Sacred Mechanism until it reached its peak. Allow her to avenge her friend, and sweat....

- I could have,' Lelouch interrupted her again, 'But I didn't. Didn't want to. Couldn't, it feels strange, Greyfia. Very strange...

Lucifug shook her painted thin lips and looked down. She understood him. Yes, she probably even understood him very well. Even after six centuries, he couldn't change drastically.....

- I gave her a choice, and she made it. She chose to stay out of the magical world on the condition that I erase the memory of those terrible days of her life. She's already been relocated to Hokkaido with her family, and they've had their memories altered. Just like her friend's family...

Greyfia raised her head. The lord had turned his chair around and was looking out the wide window that was behind him. Lucifug sighed.

- 'I understand you, I will deliver the Sacred Mechanism to the French Empress and perform the ritual myself.

- Yes, thank you,' Lelouch replied sluggishly as he continued to stare out the window.

They stood like that. Greyfia looked at her Lord and remembered when she had seen such a picture before. Yes, probably about three hundred years ago. She would come to him, reporting to him on matters in the outside world, and he would...just stare out the window.

She wouldn't want to see that slouched and pathetic look of one of the strongest Demons in the history of the world. But she wouldn't forget, it would forever remain in her memory....

- How is my apprentice? - Lelouch asked suddenly, turning back to Greyfia and snapping her out of her own thoughts.

- He has successfully passed the first part of your test,' Greyfia continued nonchalantly, 'As you advised him, he has assembled a team of...unusual demons. Including some of your retinue.

- I've been told of his activities,' Lelouch said with satisfaction. He's still as determined and radical in his plans as ever. The recent skirmish in that town was his doing, wasn't it?

- Yes,' Greyfia nodded, 'But why don't you send one of the Shadow units to him, to keep him on duty and report back to you?

- I've given him a lot of leeway,' Lelouch replied, 'Besides, I always keep an eye on him. He may not realise it, but I can hear and see his every move.

Greyfia understood what the Master was saying.

- You gave him two weeks to complete the task,' Greyfia continued, 'But he completely exceeded it in four days.

Lelouch froze for a moment. Greyfia saw this too and could understand the Master's surprise, but....

There was no surprise on Lelouch's face.

- 'So,' Lelouch grinned slightly, causing Greyfia's legs to stiffen again, 'I guess you have it now?

- Yes,' Lucifuge answered immediately and closed her eyes for a few seconds.

She stretched her hand forward, and there appeared a very small ball of dark purple colour, which looked more like a small pebble in the road than a Sacred Mechanism.

- The Fourth Shard of Vritra,' Lelouch stretched out and stood up from his chair. Greyfia immediately dropped to her knee and dropped her head down, stretching her arms up.

Lelouch gently took the Shard from her hands and gave it a cursory examination. He activated the Gias for a moment.

- Yes, part of the Dragon's soul was still here. They did the ritual perfectly,' Lelouch said, 'Stand up, Greyfia.

She stood up and raised her head. Lelouch walked over to the shelf where the various Sacred Mechanisms were located, including the artificial ones he had created himself. Lamperouge carefully placed it in the display case and turned to Greyfia:

- Well, today is a great day, Greyfia,' a satisfied smile spread across his face, 'So you can afford a little weakness.

Greyfia was wary.

- Prepare a bath for me, Greyfeye. Or rather, prepare it for us,' Leshush smiled slightly.

- Y-yes,' Greyfeye chirped happily, blushing deeply, which Lelouch could not help but notice, "Whatever you say," and she immediately disappeared into the teleportation circle.

Lelouch turned back towards the Sacred Mechanisms display cases.

Lelouch had long ago discovered the Shuri seal that resides in the depths of this planet. But it is not one primitive seal holding thousands of incredibly powerful beings. Not at all. It is hundreds, if not even thousands of seals, each one holding the Shuri.

And these seals are not created by magic or some special Power of the Biblical God. No, the Biblical One made it much simpler than that. He infused these seals with the Power of the Other - Taruna. But how did he do it? That's an interesting question.

- Now, Vritra, you will tell me where one of Shuri's seals is. But not until I unite your Mechanism.

The palm of Lelouch's left hand lightly flashed a dark purple colour.

- Aha...

***

He had always liked this hill located in one of the rainforests of Indonesia. Although it was dry here, the slight breeze on the top of this hill gave him new sensations that made his body goosebumps.

On this hill sat a guy of handsome appearance: pale skin, bright green eyes, white hair divided in half and tied in the likeness of a pony tail falling down his back, framing his pleasant facial features from the side.

His loose-fitting shirt fluttered in the wind, giving the ordinary-looking young man a pleasant chill. But this young man was no young man at all - this was Kimimaro Kaguya, he had been serving the House of Lamperouge for over five hundred years in the name of Peace.

His right leg dangled loosely above the ground, his left leg bent and resting on it was Kimimaro's left hand, in which he now held a short sword made of bones. Most recently, he has been involved in a coup in Indonesia, where he and Magnus once again murdered innocent people.

Kimimaro knows that Lelouch sits only on his island, sorting out some papers, only occasionally going off somewhere. Even Greyfia doesn't know where he disappears to, but he does something about it. Probably killing innocent creatures once again.

Now Kimimaro didn't shake his head, didn't shake those thoughts away from him. They were weighing him down, dragging him down into the abyss. And now he had to figure out what to do next. And until he figured it out here and now, then...he might do something reckless.

Kaguya was far away from the Inquisition and the Shadows, so he could ponder quietly. At least that's what he thought until he felt a surge of mana not far away. If it was mana, then Kimimaro's new guest was a Demon. A supreme Demon, judging by the creature's concentration of energy.

He wore a long dark purple robe, over which were magical plates of the same colour. They weren't heavy and didn't constrict movement, so they were quite comfortable to be in. Her black hair was unruly and dishevelled. It was a little strange to see an ungroomed Supreme, but that was the way it was. A slight smile played on his face, and a hint of superiority could be seen in his violet eyes.

- Hello, Kimimaro Kaguya,' the guest said hello before reaching Lelouch's horse, stopping five metres away.

Kimimaro didn't reply, continuing to stare into the distance.

- People keep saying that life is very short. Ah, if I had more time for this, that and the other, we could have had time for everything,' the stranger began, 'But here we - demons - have plenty of time. We are practically immortal and even at the end of our lives we regret what we once did not do. Some get wiser over the years, and some don't - there will always be something we will regret. Mortals wish for immortality, immortals wish for more time. Such is our life, Kimimaro.

- That's just your philosophy, Zekram,' Kimimaro replied coldly, 'Immortals don't wish for more time, they only wish for more time in this world. An immortal's fear is to die in battle because it seems wrong and disgusting to him. That's what his pride says, no other way to put it.

Bael grinned.

- That's just your philosophy, Kaguya, Horse of the God-Emperor,' Zekram said with an ironic grin, "You're partly right, I guess I agree with you, but," he paused, and then continued with a broad smile, 'there's something else that an immortal fears more than anything else. He fears it more than he fears his own death.....

Kimimaro did not react in any way. Now it was about him.

- I see the darkness of your heart, Kimimaro,' Zekram turned and paced in a circle, "I see that you are trying with all your might to resist the impact of the new you, because," Zekram turned to Kimimaro again, 'you know you are right. And half of you of old isn't going to get used to anything new. It's like conservatism: you need to make some changes, some reforms, and you realise it, but you don't do anything about it.

- What's the point of all this, Zekram? - Kimimaro asked sluggishly, closing his eyes, 'You know I'm Mr Lelouch's horse. You know I'm beginning to doubt his new faith, but you do nothing about it. So what's the point of all this?

- If I wanted to, I could start resisting Lelouch. Start gathering supporters, declare myself the new God, and then save the world from evil,' Zekram snorted, 'Why would I want to do that? I've been out of the mortal world for a long time now - I'm only interested in Hell.

And Kimimaro knows that Zekram is telling the truth.

- I just want you to help me in one matter,' he turned to the main topic of his coming, 'I just want you to go to Calcutta and allow me to pass into Indian territory.

- India is under the control of the Coalition and the Evil Dragon Krom. You will be detected as soon as you land. India is too important a target for the Master.

- That's not your problem anymore,' Zekram grinned as he walked closer to Kimimaro, 'So, do you agree? - He walked almost right up to him.

- What do I get? - Kimimaro asked.

- This is just the beginning of our co-operation,' Zekram began to explain to him, 'But if you fulfil everything, I will give you a weapon...

- Weapons? - Kimimaro didn't realise why he had said that out loud. He must have been a bit shocked by such an inane offer from Zekram.

- Yes, when you finally make your final decision - I will give you a weapon,' an intriguing pause followed, 'A weapon capable of killing Lelouch.

Kaguya didn't show his slight surprise. He had heard more than once from his Master that simple weapons and artefacts that even contained the Power of Light - and simple Force as well - were incapable of killing him. And Zekram has found that, but...will Kimimaro go up against Lelouch? Will he be able to transcend what they've been through together? There's too much they have in common, but...

Kimimaro couldn't stand to see any more mayhem in the world. He would either go with Lelouch into this world of madness and anarchy that the Master was building, or...save him. And bring everything back to the way it was before...

Kimimaro was silent for a short while. He stood up from his seat and said:

- Agreed,' he disappeared without even using the teleportation circle.

Zekram smiled into the void.
