Chapter 207: Apocalypse Treasure and Judge's False Accusation
Rosen's Void Phase Teleportation ended, and he appeared in another empire far away from the Divine Wood Empire. Then, after several transfers, he quietly returned to Divine Wood City.
Rosen went straight to the Mysterious study room and looked at the fragments of divinity tightly entangled by the network cable. Through astronomical prophecies, he not only knew the exact location of the ruins of the Kingdom of God, but he also knew about the statue of the Holy Elf King in the temple and how the king's last true spirit was hidden in the fragments of divinity, ready to take over a body at any moment.
After leaving the ruins, he immediately threw the fragments of the godhead into the main god computer. The Holy Elf King's divinity was so weak that it couldn't even make a sound—it was completely devoured by the main god computer, including the fragments of the Godhead. After absorbing them, the computer could directly convert the faith of the Main God Church into divine crystals.
Divine crystals were extremely valuable and considered hard currency used in large quantities by those above Sequence 1.
Rosen picked up the Eternal Darkness Oil Lamp. This miraculous treasure gave him an ominous feeling. If other miraculous treasures could increase acquired luck, the Eternal Darkness Oil Lamp would actually erase his innate luck.
The stuff is good, but it's also a troublesome scourge.
But it didn't matter—he had already decided to sell this miraculous treasure after obtaining it.
Rosen logged into the Lord God Network and began selecting suitable trading targets. It would be best if the buyer was hostile to the elves. A person of great luck from the giant clan would be the ideal choice.
Not only had Damon failed to obtain the Eternal Darkness Oil Lamp, but he also ended up causing it to fall into the hands of the giants. Additionally, the dark elves used in the sacrificial curse contained souls of humans from the Abyss, directly integrating the power of the sacrificial curse with the polluting power of the Abyss.
If the elves planned to revive the Mother Tree of Life, this sacrificial curse would undoubtedly cause them significant trouble. Perhaps even the cooperation between the World Government and the elves would fall apart because of this incident.
Damon definitely won't have an easy time in the future.
In the divine territory of Mal, Damon knelt trembling in front of a statue.
Everyone thought that the descendants of God were born noble and glorious, but few understood that every descendant of God walked on thin ice from birth.
The power of a descendant of God wasn't simply bestowed; it was inherited at great cost. Damon's mother was left physically drained after giving birth to him and spent decades recovering. As a result, she was distant and cold toward him.
His father was also preoccupied with responsibilities, leaving little time for Damon. True relationships could only be built through time spent together, but Damon had seen his mother only a handful of times and his father even less. From a young age, he was subjected to the harshest elite training.
How could the world possibly understand the bitterness and hardship of that period?
So, despite being a descendant of God, Damon was painfully aware of the fragile relationship he had with his parents.
Now, having failed so spectacularly, Damon couldn't imagine the punishment awaiting him.
"Kill that Rosen with your own ability," commanded a majestic voice from the statue.
Relief washed over Damon. He respectfully put away the statue, his heart filled with seething hatred toward Rosen.
Through archaeological time travel, Damon already knew what had transpired in the temple. A human with the blood of sacred elves had taken away the Eternal Darkness Oil Lamp and the fragments of the Godhead.
Since he couldn't identify who this person was, Damon directed all his anger toward Rosen.
If Rosen hadn't taken away all the wood elves, I would have obtained the Eternal Darkness Oil Lamp months earlier. It wouldn't have been snatched away by someone else, and I wouldn't have been forced to buy those cursed dark elves, leading to disaster in the sacrificial ceremony.
Now, the cooperation with the elves was hanging by a thread. If his father weren't occupied with damage control, Damon would have already been arrested.
Rosen is the root of all these problems.
But killing a hereditary duke required careful planning. Unless Rosen committed a grievous crime or actively tried to kill Damon, he couldn't act openly. The Council of Nobles upheld strict laws, and even his father wouldn't dare defy them.
Since Rosen stayed in the Divine Wood Empire instead of fleeing, this empire will become his burial ground.
Back in Divine Wood City, Rosen stepped out of the mysterious study.
Through the main temple, he successfully sold the Eternal Darkness Oil Lamp for an astronomical price. Part of the payment was made with the remains of the Mother Tree of Life, and the rest was exchanged for a Sequence 2 miraculous treasure.
[Apocalypse Treasure Map: Miraculous Treasures]
Level: Sequence 2
Miracle Attribute: The Apocalypse Treasure Map can consume Destiny Gold Coins to generate maps leading to miraculous treasures of various sequence levels.
Miracle Features: Destiny Coin, Truth Chamber, Unique in Heaven and Earth, Eternal Immortality
Although he had traded a Sequence 1 treasure for a Sequence 2, and although the Apocalypse Treasure Map had a fatal flaw, Rosen had no regrets.
No matter how many times I'm given the choice, I would still complete this deal.
Once refined, the Apocalypse Treasure Map would continuously extract innate luck and convert it into Destiny Gold Coins. However, this extraction would cause his innate luck to permanently downgrade.
For this reason, the Apocalypse Treasure Map was also infamously known as the Treasure Map of Doom.
Because innate luck is so crucial, even high-sequence beings who know the true nature of the Apocalypse Treasure Map dare not refine this miraculous treasure lightly.
In history, those who obtained the Apocalypse Treasure Map often disguised it in various ways before passing it on to unfortunate individuals with great innate luck. These individuals' innate luck would slowly be transformed into Destiny Gold Coins.
Once enough Destiny Gold Coins were accumulated and the Miracle Treasure Map was formed, the original owners would swiftly reclaim the Miracle Treasure Map, abandoning the unfortunate victims to their fate.
Thus, throughout history, countless individuals blessed with great luck have been deceived and ultimately ruined by the Apocalypse Treasure Map.
However, as the Apocalypse Treasure Map's reputation grew, even ordinary people began hearing about it in legends. Its notoriety made it increasingly difficult to trick new victims, causing its value to plummet over time.
But Rosen was different—he possessed a Miracle Spark, allowing him to transform acquired luck into innate luck.
This transformation created a self-sustaining loop:
Destiny Coins and the Miracle Treasure Map are generated.
Using the Miracle Treasure Map, Rosen could locate treasures.
Obtaining treasures would grant him acquired luck.
Acquired luck could then be converted back into innate luck.
This cycle effectively nullified the negative effects of the Apocalypse Treasure Map, allowing Rosen to safely utilize its most valuable feature—the Chamber of Truth.
The Chamber of Truth was a unique space akin to the Mysterious Study. While its concealment abilities weren't as strong, it offered unparalleled benefits by enhancing intelligent beings' wisdom and deepening their understanding of authority rules.
Using ancient god sacrificial vessels, Rosen raised his Spirit God value to 67 points, and with ancient god blood, he transformed this into divinity.
Refining a Sequence 2 miraculous treasure with Sequence 3 divinity was challenging but not impossible. Thanks to the 67-fold acceleration from the Time Map, Rosen estimated it would take only about a week to complete the refinement.
Beyond its miraculous features, Rosen also appreciated the Apocalypse Treasure Map for its artistic value. It was one of the rare treasures, alongside the Möbius Strip, that originated from a painting.
The painting depicted a towering mountain shrouded in mist. Whether this mountain was real or imagined remained unknown. Some believed the painting itself concealed a hidden treasure.
In the 30,000 years since its creation, no one had uncovered the painting's secrets—or, if they had, they had kept it hidden.
Rosen spent an entire week scrutinizing every brushstroke but found nothing, not even with his Ancient Scholar's insights.
When he finally refined the Apocalypse Treasure Map, he felt his innate luck begin to drain away.
In mere hours, his innate luck, which had been enough to propel him to Sequence 3, was nearly gone.
Fortunately, the Divine Power Fragments and the Eternal Darkness Oil Lamp he had obtained earlier boosted his acquired luck to Sequence 2. Through the Miracle Spark, he managed to stabilize his innate luck, bringing it close to Sequence 2 again.
However, while his innate luck was converted into Destiny Coins, the Miracle Treasure Map was not immediately formed.
The Apocalypse Treasure Map functioned more like a treasure detector, scanning its surroundings for ownerless treasures of corresponding sequence levels. If no treasures were nearby, the creation of the Miracle Treasure Map would be put on hold.
Rosen wasn't in a rush to leave Divine Wood City in search of treasure. His priority was the city's safety.
Activating the Chamber of Truth, he watched as the clouds in the painting began swirling into a vortex, pulling him inside. The Apocalypse Treasure Map vanished from the hotel room along with him.
Inside the Chamber of Truth, Rosen realized the map had entered this mysterious space with him.
The chamber was small, only about 25 square meters with a 3-meter ceiling, and completely empty except for a soft, source-less light that illuminated the space. Under this glow, Rosen felt his creative power surge with energy.
When he exited the Chamber of Truth, his self-portrait clone reported something odd:
The Apocalypse Treasure Map had completely disappeared the moment Rosen entered the chamber.
The clone couldn't sense any connection between the map and Rosen during his absence.
This anomaly sparked an idea in Rosen's mind.
He re-entered the Mysterious Study, holding the Apocalypse Treasure Map, and then activated the Chamber of Truth once more.
He deduced that the Chamber of Truth couldn't exist within the painting—it had to exist in reality. If it were confined to the painting, it would be paradoxical for the Apocalypse Treasure Map to enter itself, like placing a house within itself.
Instead, the Apocalypse Treasure Map acted as a key to open and access the Chamber of Truth in reality.
To test his theory, Rosen activated the Chamber of Truth from within the Mysterious Study.
The Apocalypse Treasure Map still allowed him to enter, even in this isolated, closed-off space.
This realization brought him to a final, undeniable conclusion:
If you eliminate all other impossibilities, whatever remains—no matter how improbable—must be the truth.
The Chamber of Truth truly existed within the painting, yet the Apocalypse Treasure Map could also be placed inside this chamber. It was an impossible paradox—like fitting a house inside itself—and yet, it happened.
After days of research and repeated entries and exits, Rosen finally uncovered the mystery behind the Apocalypse Treasure Map's strange disappearance. The painting was not merely a two-dimensional object; much like spiritual realm paintings, it concealed a higher-dimensional space—one that extended beyond four, possibly even five dimensions.
The Chamber of Truth appeared to have two distinct layers: an inner layer of high-dimensional space and an outer layer of zero-dimensional space. When Rosen entered the Chamber of Truth, the Apocalypse Treasure Map was effectively separated from the chamber within the painting, creating two independent entities. This separation explained how the painting could enter the Chamber of Truth. At that moment, the chamber's outer zero-dimensional layer collapsed and disappeared.
Satisfied with his understanding of the Chamber of Truth's mechanics, Rosen began studying the laws and authority within this unique space. However, before he could delve too deeply, an unexpected event occurred.
The Apocalypse Treasure Map in his hand began to draw upon his innate luck again, converting it into Destiny Coins. This was bizarre—previous entries and exits into the Chamber of Truth had never triggered such an event. Even the Miracle Treasure Map formed from the last extraction had not yet fully activated.
Yet now, a second Miracle Treasure Map had formed, draining Rosen's innate luck back down to Sequence 3.
This new Miracle Treasure Map was different—it had no sequence level and was immediately activated. On it, the same towering mountains from the Apocalypse Treasure Map were depicted, but now a golden dot gleamed on one of the peaks, marking the location of a treasure.
Rosen instantly understood: this was the treasure hidden within the Apocalypse Treasure Map—the treasure countless seekers throughout history had failed to uncover.
The Two Conditions to Reveal the Hidden Treasure:
One must stand outside the map and allow it to drain their innate luck.
Then, they must restore their innate luck and enter the Chamber of Truth, staying long enough for a second Miracle Treasure Map to form and point the way.
Without the Miracle Spark, it would be nearly impossible to restore the lost innate luck. This treasure was locked behind layers of impossibility, designed to remain hidden from all but the most extraordinary seekers.
With determination, Rosen compared the golden spot on the second Miracle Treasure Map to its counterpart on the Apocalypse Treasure Map. His spirit extended towards the marked location, probing the painting for any response. At first, nothing happened.
But he persisted.
Hours passed before the mist within the painting began to swirl, forming a vortex centered around the golden point. The vortex locked onto Rosen and pulled him into the painting.
Rosen felt himself enveloped in a pitch-black space, confined to an area barely one meter in diameter and two meters in height. It was suffocatingly tight, and the oppressive silence was broken only by his own breathing.
He summoned an orb of light energy into his palm, dispelling the darkness.
The light revealed walls covered in deep scratches and bloodstains, as if someone had clawed desperately at the surface. The gouges ran deep, caked with dried blood, flesh fragments, and powdered bone. Whoever had left these marks had worn their nails down to nothing, resorting to scraping with bare finger bones.
But amid the chaos, Rosen realized something—the scratches formed a painting.
It wasn't random; it was deliberate.
The painting seemed to point towards a location, though two key words had been etched out of the scene. As he gazed at the incomplete picture, the carved words—though unrecognizable in any known language—imprinted their meaning into his mind.
"Apocalypse."
The treasure was marked by this word. If he could find the place within this painting where "Apocalypse" was indicated, he could uncover the true treasure hidden within the Apocalypse Treasure Map.
But why had this treasure been hidden in such an excruciating, cruel manner? What kind of treasure required a mere human—an ordinary person—to carve such a desperate map with their own broken fingers and blood?
Rosen memorized the painting and began to think about how to leave.
The moment the thought crossed his mind, he was instantly transported out of the confined space and found himself back in the Chamber of Truth.
Yet again, his innate luck had been drained, leaving him with an unsettling sense of vulnerability.
Determined to recover his strength, Rosen decided to create a few spiritual paintings to replenish his luck. While his current resources couldn't directly boost his acquired luck again, he could refine and reprocess his existing materials into higher-value spiritual paintings. Their increased value would, in turn, allow him to regain some of his lost luck.
However, as he began painting, his mind kept drifting back to the scratched map—the one carved into the walls by desperate, bloodied hands.
An irresistible urge compelled him to recreate that image, yet when he attempted to do so, he realized with a chill that his memory of the painting had vanished.
He could recall the act of carving, the blood, and the sense of despair, but the specific details of the painting were entirely gone.
"Such a horrifying protective measure..."
Rosen muttered, his voice tinged with disbelief.
For something to silently erase his memory, bypassing his mental defenses without him even realizing it—that was not a power any ordinary authority could wield.
This revelation only deepened his obsession with the location marked on that painting. But how could he find it now? The world was vast, and with nothing more than the hazy memory of bloody scratches, locating that place would be akin to finding a single grain of sand on an endless beach.
With a sigh, Rosen set the Apocalypse Treasure Map aside.
No matter how grand the secret or precious the treasure hidden within, it would all be meaningless if it remained forever out of reach.
Rosen dedicated half a month to painting. Through his meticulous work, he managed to restore his innate luck back to Sequence 3.
Just as he was preparing to make his next decisive move, the inevitable trouble arrived.
The doorbell rang.
Rosen's spiritual perception instantly swept beyond the door, revealing three judges from the Intelligence Bureau standing in the hallway.
The leader was a blond middle-aged man of Sequence 4, exuding authority and menace. Behind him stood a man and a woman of Sequence 5, both radiating cold determination.
It was obvious—they were not here for casual conversation. Their presence reeked of ill intent, cloaked in the thin guise of official procedure.
"What's up?" Rosen asked calmly as he slowly opened the door.
"We've received a report about alien spies in this area," the blond judge said with cold righteousness. "We need to search your room immediately."
"Do as you please," Rosen replied with a resigned sigh, stepping aside.
The three judges entered the room and conducted a thorough search. Unsurprisingly, they found nothing suspicious.
But then, one of the judges—wearing an ornate ring—rubbed it lightly. A burst of energy emerged from the ring, and a panicked middle-aged man materialized in the center of the room. His eyes darted around in confusion and fear.
"Found it. The Abyss Shapeshifter was hiding here," the blond judge sneered, his hand already crackling with energy as he prepared to strike.
But before the attack could land, the entire room was swallowed by shadows.
The walls, floor, and ceiling melted into an endless void, and all four individuals—Rosen and the three judges—vanished into the shadowed expanse.
