Chapter 286: Chapter 285
The Red Line spanned a vast territory, yet few areas were truly habitable.
Even Mariejois, the so-called Holy Land, had to undergo significant transformation to become suitable for living.
The spot where the Straw Hat Pirates had landed was a barren stretch of land at the edge of the Red Line.
Mariejois lay just 5 kilometers ahead of them, looming in the distance.
"Are we really just going to charge right in?" Zoro asked in a low voice, his hand instinctively resting on the hilt of his sword.
"Why not let me snipe from afar? The new power I've mastered is perfect for large-scale destruction!" Usopp exclaimed, summoning his mighty God Killer Star with a wave of his hand.
"I can use my ninjutsu to cause some massive destruction as well," Robin added, her fingers moving gracefully like tendrils of water, ready to summon her devastating abilities.
But Logan shook his head, his expression calm yet resolute. "Let's not rush things. Although this so-called Holy Land deserves destruction, there are still many slaves inside. These innocents don't deserve to die. Our target this time is the Celestial Dragons."
"That's true, there are still slaves!" Nami agreed, her voice filled with concern.
"Let me take point!" Zoro declared, rising to his feet. As a swordsman, he was always eager to lead in battle.
But Logan smiled slightly and said, "No, we won't need anyone to lead this time."
As he spoke, Logan reached into his pocket, pulling out something small and unassuming.
When he opened his clenched fist, everyone saw four rows and five columns of exactly twenty mini-robots resting on his palm.
"The Terra Robots..." Robin instantly recognized them. Her eyes widened with surprise. She hadn't expected Logan to have shrunk these powerful machines and stored them in his pocket.
Logan grinned. "It's a good opportunity to test their power."
He slowly crouched down, preparing to release the Terra Robots onto the ground.
But just as his hand moved to release all 20 robots, he paused and withdrew 10 of them.
With the remaining 10, Logan gently placed them on the barren soil.
Then, using the magic of the Clow Cards, he restored the 10 robots to their full size.
They grew rapidly, each one now towering to the size of a giant.
In truth, with Logan's abilities, he could have made the Terra Robots even larger.
But since this was a forced intervention, who knew if it might weaken the robots' true power?
It seemed better to let them fight in their original size first and then test enlarging one or two later on.
"Let's begin!" Logan commanded.
Keng!!
Like perfectly trained soldiers, the Terra Robots snapped to attention, raising their heads in unison. Their eyes glowed brightly, and then, with a sudden burst of energy from their feet, they lifted off into the sky.
"This tech is way more advanced than my power shoes!" Reiju observed, glancing down at her own footwear, suddenly feeling that her gear was a bit outdated.
"Alright, let's go. We'll follow them. This will be a rare chance to take it easy," Logan said, a hint of amusement in his voice.
He transformed the Going Merry into the size of a small yacht and used a floating clow to make the ship hover.
And so, the Straw Hat Pirates boarded the smaller Going Merry, following the Terra Robots as if on a leisurely tour toward Mariejois.
Mariejois
Ang! Ang!-
A shrill alarm suddenly rang out in the alarm room of Pangea Castle.
"Attention! Intruders detected seven kilometers east of Pangea Castle, approaching the Holy Land."
"Alert! Unknown weapon detected!"
"Alert! Alert!"
In a grand and opulent room, five elderly men of varying appearances sat in silence.
These men, the Five Elders, held the highest authority within the World Government.
After having enjoyed lives of luxury for so long, danger was something they rarely had to consider.
"Oh? Someone dares to invade the Holy Land...?" Saint Shepard Ju Peter, the blond elder, raised an eyebrow in surprise. A mocking smirk curled at the edge of his lips.
The last invasion of the Holy Land had taken place 15 years ago, when the Fishman snuck up the Red Line, setting fires and causing chaos to free a group of slaves.
And now, someone was foolish enough to try this again?
But the Holy Land was no longer what it had been!
In the past, no one had dared to attack the sacred territory, so its defenses had been lax.
But now, the security around Mariejois was tighter than ever.
A large swarm of Territorial Longhorn Beetles, brought from Insect Island, guarded the area, raised to detect and repel any potential threats.
The long-haired elder, Saint Marcus Mars, smirked coldly. "Who are these fools? Could it be the Revolutionary Army again?"
"Haha! I doubt it! Dragon isn't that foolish," the elder with the round hat, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, chuckled.
"If Dragon made such a basic mistake, he would have never led the Revolutionary Army to this point," Saturn added.
"Pull up the images," Saint Topman Warcury ordered.
An adjutant switched on the projection, and a multitude of surveillance camera images appeared on the large screen.
These were the visual feeds from each of the Territorial Longhorn Beetles stationed around Mariejois.
"What's that flying object?" Saint Warcury asked, his eyes narrowing in curiosity as the flying robots appeared on screen.
"Sir, it looks like... a robot," the adjutant answered cautiously.
"A robot?" The elder with the sword, Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, furrowed his brow. "Could Vegapunk be involved?"
"I don't know," the adjutant replied nervously.
Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro scowled, then pulled out a Den Den Mushi and dialed Vegapunk's number.
"Where are you?" Nusjuro demanded as soon as the call connected.
"I'm in Egghead, obviously," Vegapunk replied casually, the image of the Den Den Mushi showing him tapping away at a keyboard.
To prove it, Vegapunk's assistant picked up the camera and panned it around, showing that they were indeed at the Egghead laboratory.
Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro's frown deepened. He pointed the Den Den Mushi's camera at the projected screen and asked, "Have you ever seen this type of robot before?"
"Robot?" Vegapunk's interest piqued instantly.
He stopped typing and leaned forward to inspect the image closely.
The moment the Terra Robots came into view on the camera, the apple atop Vegapunk's head trembled violently!!!
Vegapunk sprang to his feet, leaning in even closer, his eyes wide with shock.
Then, a single word burst from his mouth: "What!!?"
