Mariel: The Goddess of War

Chapter 88: Segal vs Kehal.

Clang!!!!! The sound of metal clashing violently reverberated throughout the area. Segal did not let this opportunity go and took the advantage to attack Kehal first. His sword accelerated its ultimate fire magic power and continuously slashed Kehal's shield.

Clang! Clang! Clang! The sound of swords hitting the large silver shield continuously made Kehal defend from this attack.

"Your strength is truly extraordinary. After so many years, your power has increased quite a bit. Wonderful!" Kehal praised his disciple greatly.

"Master Kehal is praising me too much." said Segal.

"But that's all!" Kehal said as he slammed the shield back with full force, causing Segal to stagger back several steps.

"Just reflecting the shield back once, even sending me back this far. Master Kehal is extraordinary." Segal said.

"It's my turn!" Kehal shouted as he swung his sword at Segal's shield that was raised up for protection, causing him to be unable to defend as well.

"What a power!" Segal thought. He could only keep the sword and hold his large shield to block the fierce and heavy attack from Master Kehal.

"In terms of physical strength, Brother Segal may be able to fight evenly Master Kehal, but if they fight for a long time, it won't be good for Segal." Mariel analyzed the fight and spoke.

"Because of Segal Qi, compared to Master Kehal, he is definitely stronger. His experiences and strengths will give him an advantage to Segal." Raven said.

"If I had to fight Master Kehal, I don't even know if I would survive from this." Yujin said with a fear expression.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The sound of metal swords hitting their opponents' shields continued to reverberate without stopping. They took turns attacking and defending to give the opponent a chance to fully display their skills. The techniques that Segal learned from the Shalamand Sword School were used in unique ways: the swings, slashes, and moves that Mariel had never seen before, but he was unable to harm Master Kehal much.

"Great Flame Sword!" Segal shouted and swung his fiery, ultimate fire magic sword at Master Kehal. However, Kehal did not show any sign of fear and even used the same technique to swing his sword back.

Clang!!!

The sound of two metal swords clashing was so loud that it made the trees in the area tremble. Mariel and her friends, Deric and Claudia's ears were so hurt that they had to cover their ears with both hands.

"What an attack!" Deric said.

"This is far from a practicing fight between Master and disciple, it likes a real battle!" Claudia said.

The battle continued for more than an hour, but neither side showed any sign of giving up. Segal tried to take the advantage because he was younger, but it had the opposite effect. Master Kehal became even more excited and continued to charge at his disciple with no mercy.

"Are all your strengths gone? Segal." Kehal sneered at his disciple.

"Master, if you just keep attacking one-sided, you'll run out of your strengths." Segal said with concern.

"I can fight against you all night long. Don't worry about me. Lol." Kehal said with a laugh.

Clang!!!!!

Segal saw the opportunity from this and quickly used his shield to smash his master, causing Kehal to fall back several steps.

"That's it!" Segal said he did well in this attack.

Fire and water magic combined at the same time in Segal's sword, creating two powerful magics that spread throughout the sword.

"Two powers of water and fire combined!" Segal shouted as he soared above Master Kehal and swung his sword down with full force.

Clang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The loud noise reverberated throughout the area, and the others had to quickly flee the area to avoid the violent slaughter.

Kehal had to use both hands to hold the shield firmly and raise it above his head to receive Segal's attack. Both his arms and his legs that were standing on the ground were shaking so that he almost couldn't withstand these two types of magic power.

"You little brat!" Kehal was furious because he was being humiliated like this.

Clang!!!!

Kehal used ice magic to coat his entire shield and reflect it back at Segal with full force, forcing him to jump, roll in midair, and fall back to the ground, trembling.

Ouch....

Segal spat out blood. The attack from his master earlier had caused internal injuries to his body. Ice magic had seeped into his body, causing him to almost shiver, and it had also caused the flow of Qi in his body to be disordered.

Master Kehal and Segal stared at each other as if trying to read each other's minds about what kind of attack to use next. Suddenly, both smiled at each other.

Kehal and Segal made a move to throw their shields, tilting their bodies to their left. The magic fire coated the metal shields, generating intense heat.

"Take it!!!!" They shouted at the same time, then threw the shields at high speed, causing the two shields to collide with each other.

Clang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sound of the fire shields colliding with full force, sending them flying in different directions. Half of the two shields were embedded in the ground.

"Throwing shields at each other like in a superhero movie…" Yujin said, reminiscing about superhero movies where they team up to save the world.

"That's right, I agree." Mariel said as she remembered it as well.

Kehal and Segal were left with only their swords. The fierce gazes that stared at the opponent with no sign of retreat and there were only made the battle even more intense.

"Let's end this, my disciple!" Kehal shouted, urging all his fire magic power to his large sword.

"I accept this challenge!" Segal said as he expended his energy into his silver sword as well.

Then both sides charged at each other, slashing their swords with all their might.

Clang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This attack created a violent tremor and caused dust throughout the area, making it impossible for Mariel and the others to see the result of the battle.

"Wind Blower!" Mariel used wind magic to blow away the dust from the field next to the house until they could see two figures inside.

The sight in front of everyone was Segal kneeling with his sword which stuck into the ground. Blood was continuously flowing from his nose and spurting out of his mouth too. His body was shaking with extreme exhaustion. As for Master Kehal, he was standing in front of Segal with an admirable expression, and he was sweating quite a bit.

"Excellent, my disciple. I was able to use 30 % of my power to defeat you. You passed. Lol." Kehal said as he slowly walked over to help Segal stand up.

"I will remember this valuable experience for the rest of my life, Master Kehal." Segal said, bowing respectfully.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

The sound of applause from Deric, Claudia, and others. Everyone ran over to congratulate them.

"Great job, big bro." Mariel praised.

"I'll heal you." Mania said as she used healing magic to heal Segal's body and heal the wounds on his body back to normal.

"You are too serious." Midaran said as she healed her husband as well.

"It was an exciting fight between shield-swordsmen." Deric praised.

While everyone was admiring, Beatrix surprisingly noticed a murderous aura staring at Mariel. The one who was giving her that look was Kehal, and the others didn't notice.

"It doesn't good now." Beatrix said.

"What's wrong, Beatrix?" Mariel turned to her best friend with a surprised expression, because Beatrix had turned pale and was shaking slightly.

"Alright, the first main course has been served. It's time for the second course, Lol." Kehal said, immediately giving Mariel a challenging fight.

"Eh… Me? No way!" Mariel immediately denied this challenge.

"That's enough! Kehal." Midaran tried to stop her husband too.

"It's no wonder that you wanted to challenge my daughter when you had the chance." Deric said, standing with his arms crossed and staring at Kehal.

"Of course! The incident at the old house that you told me about her, it made me even more interested in my other disciple." Kehal said, turning to look at Deric and Claudia, then turning back to stare at Mariel.

"Everyone! Step back." Mariel said.

The others retreated from this area, and in the middle of the field, only Kehal and Mariel stood there. The atmosphere became filled with an indescribable awkwardness.

"I want to have a serious fight with you. There will be no holding back at all." Kehal said with a serious expression.

"I'm still not as good as you, master Kehal. I'm afraid it would be a waste of time and effort." Mariel said with a humble attitude.

"Then I will use this technique..." Kehal said and immediately increased the power of his magic power.

"Hey! Kehal! Are you going to use that technique? Mariel is not ready for this!" Derek shouted in shock because he didn't expect his friend to use a secret technique that he hadn't used for decades.

"Kehal! Please don't use this technique." Claudia shouted and tried to stop him.

Mariel was surprised that her parents were acting like this, but suddenly, the area around them was covered with light magic that was continuously emitted from Kehal's body.

Wink!!!

Kehal's eyes turned golden, and he stared at Mariel with a furious expression.

The enormous energy around Kehal caused continuous sparks of light, muscles expanding and veins swelling on his face and limbs were noticeable.

"Berserk Mode!" Deric said in fear.

"Don't use this technique! It's only use for fight until death!" Midaran tried to stop her husband, but she couldn't change her husband's mind.

"This technique is forbidden for sword and shield fighters because it increases the user's power and anger to the limit, which means being willing to sacrifice his own life that just to kill the enemies. Why did Master Kehal have to use it on Mariel?" Segal said with a trembling voice.

"Master Kehal… I think… that's enough…for today." Mariel tried to plead for the last time to make her master Kehal change his mind.

"Is it because you're so weak that you don't dare fight me?!" Kehal said provocatively.

Mariel lowered her head and stood there motionless as if she was thinking about something. Suddenly, she laughed.

"LOL HAHAHAHAHA!!!" Mariel looked up and let out a loud laugh. Then, dark magic gradually spread out from her body and collided with Kehal's light magic in the air, causing chaos throughout the area.

Mariel lowered her head and stared at Kehal with a gaze that she had never had before. Her Master Kehal's provocative words had now awakened the dark magic within her.

Her black eyes turned blood red and were oval shaped like the eyes of a venomous snake which was ready to hunt down its delicious prey.

"You begged for it, my dear master!" Mariel shouted.
