Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Just Fight

Pirate World – Marineford, Headquarters of the Marines

The scene was chaos. Smoke and gunfire filled the air as the forces of the Whitebeard Pirates clashed with the Seven Warlords of the Sea and the countless Marines.

Today was the execution day of Fire Fist Ace. To save him, Whitebeard had mobilized his entire crew, risking everything to rescue Ace. Even Monkey D. Luffy, the infamous Straw Hat, had joined the fray to save his sworn brother.

Akainu, standing among the Marines, watched the battered Whitebeard Pirates struggle to flee after rescuing Ace. He knew that if they gave their all to escape, stopping them would be almost impossible. But there was another way—to provoke them into attacking him.

Smirking, Akainu taunted, "Running away after rescuing Ace? The Whitebeard Pirates are nothing but a bunch of cowards."

He continued, "It makes sense, though. Their captain is just a relic of a bygone era—a failure. It's no surprise the rest of the crew is the same."

"A failure...?"

Ace, who had been running with the others, abruptly stopped in his tracks. His jaw tightened, flames erupted around him, and his expression darkened dangerously. Turning to face Akainu, he growled, "Take back what you just said!"

The surrounding pirates seethed with anger, but none dared confront Akainu—they knew they couldn't win. Ace, already weakened, stood no chance either.

Seeing Ace stop, Akainu's smirk deepened. Far from retracting his words, he added fuel to the fire.

"Take it back? Hah! Look at your father, Gol D. Roger. As much as I hate to admit it, he truly deserved the title of Pirate King. But Whitebeard? He's nothing but a complete and utter failure."

Ace's eyes widened in fury, flames blazing wildly around him. Insulting someone he respected so deeply was intolerable. Even knowing he couldn't win, Ace charged forward.

"Akainu!"

Ace threw a blazing punch, clashing with Akainu's magma-coated arm. The impact sent Ace flying backward, powerless against Akainu's overwhelming strength.

"Hmph. Perfect timing," Akainu sneered. "Now, let's see who will save that Straw Hat brat!"

Ignoring Ace, Akainu redirected his molten fist toward Luffy. The sudden change in target caught Luffy off guard, and he froze as Akainu's looming figure grew larger in his eyes.

Just then, a familiar silhouette appeared in front of him, smiling gently.

Before Luffy could process it, Ace had moved to shield him. Akainu's molten fist pierced through Ace's chest.

"Ace!"

Gasps of horror erupted from the pirates as they watched Ace's body slump, impaled by Akainu's attack. Many felt as though their hearts had been struck by a hammer.

None more so than Vice Admiral Garp.

Watching his grandson collapse, Garp's feet moved on their own, slowly but surely closing the distance to Akainu.

Beside him, Fleet Admiral Sengoku's eyes widened in alarm. Recognizing the danger, he darted forward and pinned Garp to the ground, yelling into his ear, "Garp! Are you insane? What do you think you're doing?!"

Despite Sengoku's strength, Garp's struggle was relentless. His head sank into the ground under Sengoku's pressure, yet Sengoku could feel the force building beneath him—raw power, barely restrained.

"Keep holding me down," Garp growled, his voice trembling with fury. "Because if you let go, I swear Akainu won't leave here alive!"

The venom in Garp's voice was chilling, each word spoken through gritted teeth. The hatred and resolve in his eyes were emotions Sengoku had rarely seen in all their years together.

Realizing Garp's threat was no bluff, Sengoku tightened his grip. He knew that if he released Garp now, the Vice Admiral would undoubtedly kill Akainu without hesitation.

Garp was a Marine hero, a pillar of strength for countless Marines. If he were to attack Akainu, the Navy's morale would shatter, their beliefs crumbling in an instant.

The battlefield erupted into chaos.

"Ace's chest... It's been pierced!"

"There's no way to save him now!"

"Damn it, I'll kill Akainu myself!"

"Idiot! Stay back! If we could kill him, we'd have done it already. Don't throw your life away!"

The Whitebeard Pirates were on the verge of madness. Ace's death pushed many to the brink, and several attempted to charge at Akainu, only to be forcibly held back by their comrades.

For Luffy, standing closest and witnessing Ace's death firsthand, the devastation was unbearable. Overwhelmed by grief, his mind went blank, the pain consuming him entirely.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. That's quite a fatal wound. With this world's medical technology, there's no way to save him," a calm, amused voice echoed across the battlefield.

Everyone's eyes widened as they turned toward the source. Without anyone noticing, three figures had appeared beside Ace and Luffy.

"Han?"

Whitebeard's sharp gaze flickered with surprise as he recognized the familiar face leading the trio. It was none other than Han Yu, the mysterious owner of the peculiar general store Whitebeard had visited many times.

"So this is the world of One Piece? Fascinating! But wow, the body proportions of these people are so bizarre!"

Quicksilver, standing next to Han Yu, curiously scanned his surroundings. Every time they traversed to a new world, Han Yu's store system would adapt their appearances to match the local style, though it didn't alter their body proportions.

To Quicksilver and Wanda, the people of the One Piece world seemed strange—tall and lanky, with exaggerated builds.

Han Yu turned to Wanda and said, "Wanda, this boy seems to be drowning in his grief. Bring him back to his senses; otherwise, his mind could suffer permanent damage."

"Understood."

Wanda nodded, her elegant fingers glowing red. She extended a single finger, and a soft crimson light seeped into Luffy's mind. Gradually, the lifeless gaze in his eyes began to regain clarity.

"What… What just happened to me? Was it you who saved me?" Luffy asked, his voice laced with confusion.

Wanda smiled gently and nodded.

"You… Who are you? Can you save Ace? You can, right? Please, I beg you, save Ace!"

Although Luffy had no idea who Wanda and the others were, the fact that they'd restored his focus planted a sliver of hope in his heart.

Perhaps they could save Ace!

"Relax. If I'm here, Ace won't die," Han Yu said with a reassuring smile as he stepped forward and placed a hand on Luffy's shoulder.

With a flash of light, a golden senzu bean emitting a faint, exotic aroma appeared in Han Yu's hand. Flicking his fingers, he sent the bean flying toward Whitebeard.

"I'm going to heal Ace. I don't want anyone interrupting me," Han Yu declared firmly.

Though Whitebeard had countless questions—why Han Yu was here or who he truly was—he wasn't foolish enough to waste time with them now. Catching the senzu bean, Whitebeard immediately swallowed it.

The moment the bean entered his mouth, a warm current coursed through his entire body. Whitebeard's expression shifted to one of astonishment as his wounds and strength began to recover at an incredible pace.

"Hmph, who are you to run your mouth here? Die!"

Akainu roared, magma erupting from his arm and forming a blazing gauntlet. With terrifying heat, he swung his molten fist at Han Yu.

But Han Yu didn't even flinch.

Suddenly, a cold gleam sliced through the air, striking Akainu from behind.

A clean, unembellished slash tore through Akainu's body.

"He said not to interrupt him. Didn't you understand?"

The voice was cold and commanding. Even Fleet Admiral Sengoku, standing nearby, was stunned, as were all the onlookers. They stared in disbelief at the figure now standing between Akainu and Ace.

It was Whitebeard himself—the man who had been on the brink of death moments ago.

"The senzu bean… It's miraculous! Not only have my injuries healed completely, but I feel stronger than ever!"

Whitebeard clenched his fists, marveling at the surge of vitality coursing through him. He had never felt such raw power before—it was invigorating, almost intoxicating.

"You... How is this possible? What did you do?!"

Akainu staggered back, his face a mixture of shock and disbelief. Although his magma-based Logia abilities allowed him to regenerate, he knew all too well what had just occurred.

He wasn't the only one who noticed. As a seasoned warrior, Akainu could sense that Whitebeard's body wasn't just healed—it had returned to its prime. No, it had even surpassed that peak!

"Hmph. What's the point of talking so much?" Whitebeard cracked his knuckles and grinned. "Let's settle this with a fight!"
