Chapter 2: Chapter 2: One Wave After Another

Tsunade's mind raced as she considered the possible outcomes of agreeing to Han Yu's deal—and the consequences of refusing.

She had no idea who this man truly was, nor could she predict the repercussions if she rejected his offer.

As her rapid thoughts caused her chest to rise and fall visibly, even Han Yu couldn't help but let his gaze linger for a moment.

After clenching her teeth audibly, Tsunade finally asked, "What do you need the Byakugō no Jutsu for?"

"That's not your concern," Han Yu replied with a casual smile. He continued, "As long as the price is right, I can also assist with the post-disaster reconstruction of Konoha."

Their conversation suddenly shifted to rebuilding the village, as if Han Yu was utterly confident in defeating Pain.

Tsunade stared at Han Yu unblinkingly, trying to discern any hidden schemes behind his smile.

But no matter how long she scrutinized him, Han Yu's expression remained as calm and composed as ever. Instead of faltering under her intense gaze, he met it head-on.

The two of them continued this silent standoff, creating an oddly tense atmosphere.

Eventually, Tsunade nodded. She couldn't think of any other way to deal with Pain and could only place her hopes on Han Yu, praying he could truly resolve the crisis.

When Tsunade finally agreed, Han Yu's smile grew even brighter. Meanwhile, the Pain buried in the pit regained his mobility and leaped out of the crater.

"I'll give you a chance to die honorably. Will you go first, or shall I?"

Han Yu spoke with a relaxed smile, his composed demeanor captivating Tsunade's attention.

"Damn it. He's just a kid, yet he exudes this extraordinary presence."

Tsunade stood in a daze, watching Han Yu. She had never witnessed such a unique way of fighting—no visible use of chakra, yet such overwhelming power. How was this even possible?

Pain fixed his sharp gaze on the man before him. His hands moved quickly, forming seals. Five bursts of smoke erupted around him, and the other five Pains materialized at his side.

"Oh? So, this is the Six Paths of Pain. Interesting," Han Yu remarked. He didn't show a hint of panic at the sudden increase in opponents. Instead, he curiously studied the six figures, his expression resembling that of an inquisitive child.

"Naraka Path."

Tendo Pain's low voice resounded as the round-faced man at his side broke into a sprint.

"The Naraka Path can absorb chakra and ninjutsu. No matter how powerful your chakra is, you can't beat him!"

Tendo Pain's cold gaze followed Naraka Path as he charged toward Han Yu. His frosty eyes seemed to declare Han Yu's death as a foregone conclusion, devoid of any emotion.

Unfortunately, he had made the wrong assumption. The Naraka Path's ability to absorb chakra and ninjutsu was formidable, but his opponent wasn't relying on chakra at all!

Han Yu's eyes flickered, and the surrounding temperature plummeted instantly, frost forming on nearby surfaces.

By the time Tsunade snapped out of her daze, she saw Han Yu gripping a pristine, snow-white longsword. It seemed as though the abrupt chill in the air was caused by the blade's mere presence.

"This sword is Hyorinmaru, the strongest ice-type zanpakutō. Consider it an honor to die by its edge."

As Han Yu grasped Hyorinmaru, the lighthearted aura around him vanished, replaced by a suffocating sense of majesty.

This aura wasn't merely an oppressive display of strength—it was an overwhelming, intrinsic presence that dominated everything around him.

Tsunade was captivated by the overwhelming aura surrounding Han Yu. Unconsciously, she asked, "Who are you, really?"

Han Yu slowly raised Hyorinmaru. The blade, gleaming with a cold, icy light, seemed to freeze the very air around it under its oppressive power. His lips curled into a faint smile, and the suffocating atmosphere deepened.

With a single slash, a pale white energy wave tore through the air, accompanied by Han Yu's soft, amused voice.

"Just a passing small-time general store owner."

The charging Naraka Path Pain raised his hand, activating his chakra and ninjutsu-absorbing ability, attempting to nullify the icy slash from Hyorinmaru.

But the energy from the blade wasn't made of chakra. How could he absorb something that defied the very principles of his ability?

The icy slash pierced through Naraka Path Pain, and in an instant, his body froze solid, turned into an ice sculpture from the inside out by the ultra-low temperature. A gentle tap shattered him into countless pieces of ice.

Instant kill.

"No way… this power…!"

Tsunade, who had initially doubted Han Yu's abilities, was left speechless. Her crimson lips parted in astonishment as she stared at Han Yu in disbelief.

From the moment he gripped the hilt of the blade, everyone present could feel that Han Yu had become the absolute ruler of the battlefield.

What they thought was merely an illusion now seemed very real.

"What's wrong? Worn out already? That's it?"

Han Yu casually swung Hyorinmaru. In his hand, it looked like an ordinary longsword. But after what had just unfolded, how could anyone believe it was just a regular katana?

"This guy is no ordinary person—he's dangerous. Don't underestimate him. Attack together!"

The remaining five Pains exchanged glances, then rushed forward simultaneously. An array of dazzling ninjutsu formed in their hands, and a Shadow Clone Technique turned their numbers from five into over twenty.

"Hah, this? Not even enough to fill the gaps in my teeth!"

Even with their sudden increase in numbers, Han Yu remained unfazed. Instead, he chuckled and dashed forward, slashing with Hyorinmaru, the blade emanating waves of bone-chilling cold.

The pale white energy from his strikes left thick layers of ice wherever it passed.

One by one, the Six Paths of Pain were frozen solid under Han Yu's precise and powerful swordsmanship. However, amidst the destruction, one of the Pains smirked coldly.

"I'll admit you're impressive, but abandoning your ranged energy slashes was your fatal mistake!"

"The Six Paths of Pain share a linked vision. That single misstep won't give you a second chance!"

With a sneer, the Pain allowed himself to be cut by Hyorinmaru. Unsurprisingly, his body was cleaved in two. But at that moment, a shadow flashed behind Han Yu—it was the original body of the Asura Path Pain!

"It's over! This is the result of your arrogance, daring to take on all six of us alone!"

The Asura Path Pain launched a powerful punch, the sheer force behind it comparable to Tsunade's own strength when she unleashed her full power. Taking a hit like this head-on wouldn't end well for anyone.

During the attack, Asura Path Pain thought he saw a faint smile on Han Yu's face. The instant his fist connected, Han Yu vanished!

"What incredible speed!"

"I've never seen anyone move like this before."

"I've witnessed the Fourth Hokage in battle, and his Flying Thunder God Technique was astonishingly fast, but… this young man seems even faster!"

Not only was Pain stunned, but the observing Konoha shinobi wore the same astonished expressions. This level of speed was something they had only ever seen in the Fourth Hokage.

"Hey, look over here!"

A cheerful shout drew Asura Path Pain's attention, and as he turned, a rapidly approaching fist filled his vision. It slammed into his face with bone-crushing force.

The punch sent him flying, his head rippling with the shockwave of the impact as if creating sonic booms.

Asura Path Pain, being partially mechanical, fared slightly better than the Naraka Path Pain. Instead of freezing into a sculpture, he was reduced to nothing more than a pile of mechanical debris.

Another instant kill.

If Deva Path Pain could express ordinary human emotions, his forehead would now be drenched in cold sweat.

No ninjutsu. No chakra.

Deva Path Pain was certain—the man standing before him used neither. Instead, he wielded an entirely different form of energy, one that might even surpass chakra in power.

"Your turn."

A cold gleam flashed in Han Yu's eyes as he surged forward. In the blink of an eye, before anyone could react, the blade of Hyorinmaru was already pressed against Deva Path Pain's neck.

With just the slightest pressure, he too would be transformed into an ice sculpture, shattered into a mist of frost.

"Wait! Whatever you want, we can provide. We'll even offer double!"

Deva Path Pain's voice carried a faint tremor, a hint of panic bleeding through as he realized the insurmountable gap in their power—not just a difference, but a chasm.

Han Yu stood before him with an easy smile, his presence exuding a quiet dominance that made even Pain, a vessel of divine authority, feel an unfamiliar emotion: fear.

"This is someone we cannot hope to defeat."

That single thought echoed in Deva Path Pain's mind. They had laid waste to Konoha, only to find themselves completely overpowered by this enigmatic young man. Deva Path Pain racked his brain but couldn't fathom where Han Yu had come from or how someone like him could exist.

The Konoha shinobi who had been watching stood frozen, their expressions shifting from shock to sheer disbelief. They could no longer comprehend the extent of Han Yu's power.

As the Fifth Hokage, Tsunade was undoubtedly among the village's strongest, certainly ranking in the top three. Yet against the Six Paths of Pain, she had been grievously injured.

The Six Paths of Pain had devastated Konoha in a single stroke.

Now, this young man with a single blade had decimated two of them with ease.
