Chapter 208: MD-Chapter 207 Infiltrating the Midst!
To Arthur, the so-called Helicarrier resembled a massive unmanned drone.
Especially when those four gigantic turbine engines revealed themselves from the water, Arthur thought the folks in the cockpit must be controlling this behemoth with a remote control, right?
After a brief look at the massive structure, everyone entered the cabin.
The interior was spacious, and staff members were bustling around.
Instead of meeting Fury right away, they first allocated rooms.
Coulson led 'Natasha' to the door of one of the rooms, made a gesture, and then hurried off to follow Steve.
Arthur found it amusing— after all, this was a middle-aged man with a touching hairline…
Once inside, Arthur scanned the room with the Eye of Horus and confirmed that SHIELD agents hadn't gone mad by installing surveillance in the room. Satisfied, he took out the Pen of Thoth and drew a teleportation array on the floor.
He then released Natasha.
The woman lay on the bed, and honestly, as a man, Arthur found it a bit awkward.
He quickly went to the bathroom, changed into his own clothes, and neatly folded Natasha's clothes, carrying them out.
As he stepped out, he saw Natasha sitting on the bed, examining her surroundings.
When she saw Arthur, her gaze paused briefly, and she smiled lightly, "Is this the Helicarrier?"
Arthur placed the clothes beside her, turned his back with his eyes closed, and put away the Eye of Horus. "Hurry up and put on the clothes. It's too much to look at."
"... Not attractive?"
Natasha's voice seemed to come right next to Arthur's ear.
Arthur's arm broke out in goosebumps, and he shivered slightly. "I'm telling you, don't mess around."
Natasha raised an eyebrow. "I was born in '84. I'm not exactly at the point where you can call me 'big sister.'"
The sound of her dressing began, and Arthur sighed in relief.
"All done," Natasha said.
Arthur turned around and nearly had his eyes fall out.
Looking at the scattered clothes, Arthur asked with a distressed expression, "You... didn't you say it was fine?"
"It's fine," Natasha looked at the clothes and sighed. "None of them fit. They all smell like you, especially…"
"Stop, Stop, Stop!!!!"
Arthur watched Natasha pick up her pants, seemingly ready to say something and quickly interrupted.
This woman was too unfiltered, practically living on the edge— testing limits with abandon!
Taking a deep breath, Arthur said, "So… what do you want?"
"I need new clothes!"
Natasha said seriously.
"... Well, should I go buy some for you then?"
"Did you set up another teleportation array?" Natasha looked at the empty floor and smiled. "But even so, I don't trust your taste."
She pulled a key out of her pants pocket, tossed it to Arthur, and provided an address. "Can you get me two sets of spare clothes?"
What could Arthur say?
What kind of joke was this at a time like this?
"Or do you really need to hear some specific data?"
Natasha narrowed her eyes and said, "Though I wouldn't mind…"
"I'm going now! Farewell!"
Arthur quickly activated the teleportation array and vanished from the Helicarrier in an instant.
Seeing Arthur leave, Natasha finally burst into laughter: "What an interesting reaction."
Arthur stood up, picked up the clothes, and examined himself in the mirror, shaking his head. "Too distracting? Hard to understand."
After saying that, he put on the clothes and turned to leave the room.
Less than two minutes later, the teleportation array in the room lit up, and Arthur reappeared.
Looking at the empty room, he breathed a sigh of relief and couldn't help but grit his teeth. "As expected, she was messing with me."
…
…
After Natasha left, Arthur lay on the bed alone, not daring to use his phone. All related electronic devices were stashed in the Disassembler space.
The Helicarrier was equipped with extraordinary functions. If the surveillance signals were to instantly lock onto him, that would be a problem.
It might not cause a major issue, but facing Fury would be terribly awkward for Arthur.
Bored, Arthur took out Hulk's pants from the Disassembler space and disassembled them.
He received a dazzling green Battle Soul and 14 colorless small crystals.
Frankly, it was a bit terrifying.
The pants weren't a Divine Weapon as one might imagine, but because they had been worn by Hulk, they had acquired a 'green' rating.
Previously, the pants he disassembled produced two colorless small crystals, but this time, it was 14!
"If I get along well with Hulk in the future… can't I just ask him for pants every day?"
Arthur blinked and snapped a photo of the dazzling green Battle Soul.
Next, he was left with nothing to do.
Staying in the room, unsure of what to do, he decided to close his eyes and meditate.
About two hours later, Natasha hurriedly returned and immediately spotted Arthur sitting on the bed. "I've found Loki's trail. What should we do?"
Arthur opened his eyes. "The aircraft we used today has a teleportation array I set up. Use that one when you depart. Once you arrive, you can call me."
Natasha nodded. "Can we solve the problem directly?"
"I just hope there won't be any unforeseen changes." Arthur glanced at Natasha, shrugged, and said, "Sorry, I can't guarantee anything."
"Understood."
Natasha nodded and turned to leave.
Arthur took a deep breath and closed his eyes again.
In reality, it's impossible for everything to go according to one's wishes; changes can occur at any moment.
This is the most profound lesson Arthur has learned on his journey to today.
In fact, if not for so many unforeseen events, Arthur thought he might still be basking in the soldiers' cheers from seventy years ago.
"This is… reality."
Arthur closed his eyes once more.
…
…
By evening, Arthur finally received Natasha's signal.
Stepping onto the teleportation array, he adjusted its direction with his mind, and the next second, he appeared inside a Quinjet.
Looking around, the cabin door was already closed, with two pilots at the front, one being Natasha and the other an unfamiliar face.
The other person was focused on the front, unaware of what was happening behind.
Natasha was frantically signaling Arthur!
Arthur nodded slightly, and in a flash, he dropped out of the Quinjet. Below him was a brightly lit city, with the wind howling in his ears. As The Eye of Horus soared, he spotted Loki with his long-horned helmet…
